This song ❤️ 🎵 is a different style and sound 🎉🎉. The Stones always keep rock and roll 🎶 alive and well 🎉🎉. They have a unique way of making music 🎶 🎵. Mick and the boys even push boundaries on a whole other level with their lyrics as well.
Check out the song Sway off of Sticky Fingers. The song opens with a classic Keith Richards opening riff. However, that’s not Keith playing. It’s actually Mick Jagger playing Keith’s guitar. You can’t tell the difference.
I think this is one of the earliest songs with that open-G tuning sound. It's pretty obscure, but one of my favorites. Ronnie bringing great life on the solos for live performances...he hits all the bends and makes his own stamp. Great live version all around!
@@davidnika446 He learnt it while playing with Ry Cooder in 1968, then Jumpin JAck Flash, Honky Tonk Woman, It's played on Let It Bleed, it's all over Sticky Fingers, famously Brown Sugar, all over Exile on Tumbling Dice, etc, etc. All way before Hand Of Fate.
@@bungle3912 Oh yeah, of course. I did get my time frames mixed up. When I first learned guitar, I learned about Start Me Up. So that was my first example. Then of course Honkey Tonk Woman, a super obvious example. A lot later, i came across Hand Of Fate, and by that time I recognized that sound (and how it was so prominent as the main repeating riff). Then my brain forgot a BUNCH of other stuff!
Wayne Perkins played lead guitar and the solos on this song off of the Black and Blue album. They didn’t hire him as a full-time band member after Mick Taylor left,, because ‘according to Mick and Keith, “He didn’t look like a Stone.” Ronnie Wood and Keith can’t play that kind of lead, they’re more riff and rhythm guitar players. In essence, Perkins filled the role of Mick Taylor, who is one of the greatest and most underrated guitar players ever. There is no Sticky Fingers or Exile On Main Street without him.
The Rolling Stones embarked on the Licks World Tour in 2002 2003 to celebrate their 40th anniversary featuring the band performing in arenas and stadiums in addition to the occasional theater. In November 2002 the Stones arrived in Los Angeles to perform at a packed Wiltern Theatre treating fans to a set heavy on rarities which feel right at home in such an intimate setting. While some of the hits are performed this night at the Wiltern is for the rarely played classics including Stray Cat Blues. No Expectations and a cover of Everybody Needs Somebody To Love featuring a guest spot by the legendary Solomon Burke who opened the show that night.
With your @888jackflash name you have to have been a big fan at some stage. Me I'v seen em 35+ times since Earl's Court '76 and although I understand what you're saying blind allegiance on my part I keep going to their shows last one being Hyde Park 2022. They're like a football team at this stage you keep following regardless. Hand of Fate live '76 has never been equalled so I agree with you on that. Some songs shouldn't be attempted live Sway and Rocks Off being two more examples 🕺☘️

This song’s about seven albums after Keith started using open-G. He started using it in 1968, this song was released in 1976.
You are late on the party dude.
@@bungle3912 Interesting. What songs do you notice that on?

There's a slight sound of Love Is Strong in the intro.

I like a song that tells a good story I can understand.
For a good story try David Crosby's Cowboy Movie song. 2-5-25

Ronnie at the time could easily play it, it's a nice solo by Wayne, but there isn't a lot of complexity to it..
What year and tour is this from?
