My favorite thing is how they really lean into the cheesy stuff. Like the victory poses, the team attack animations, and a lot of the side quest dialogue options. A lot of it is over the top in a good way. Also, there is very little sexual fan service. Even the bath scenes are pretty tame by normal anime standards. Overall, I really enjoyed the game, mostly because of the likable characters. Azami was my favorite. She’s so freaking adorable sometimes. Her VA nailed it.

Love the mashup of visual novel/battle simulations. Graphics and music are great. The one thing that's driving me nuts is when you're timed to make a dialogue choice on occasion.
Still, REALLY enjoying the game so far. It's keeping me on my toes....lol.
As usual, western review sites are crapping on a game they don't understand. I was expecting at least an 8 with Metacritic, but lots of them gave it a 7 or lower, even a 2/5 score on one of its main reviewers. But at least the user reviews had it higher.

I just picked this up for $30 on sale at gamestop! Anything NP suggests is my type of game!
Had me at waifus and mech. Not to mention the world looks very beautiful.
It does a decent job mixing a dating sims and action jrpg together. The main miss on this game is not allowing any power ups for your mech units or leveling them up. That is a staple on just about any rpg, how they left that out is beyond me.
Maybe because THIS game and series never was a JRPG but Visual Novel ? Look at Wikipedia, even in Sakura Wars 2 comercial, Segata Sanshiro said ,,Drammatic Adventure'' not ,,RPG'' (in Japan there is no genre like Visual Novel, they calling them Adventure games). Simply if you add RPG elements, mech customization, grind, leveling up stuff it will be something like Fire Emblem Three Houses, not Sakura Wars game anymore. And if they would did that, well: incoming review bombing in Japan, 1/10 score, and bad sales. This series main focus was ALWAYS playing a game like interactive anime / adventure game, not roleplaying game.

I said this once and I'll say it again, this game should've been multiplat for at least the PC. I'm not the type of person that says EVERYTHING should be on Switch either, especially since this has been in development for years now, but this should've been confirmed for that platform considering how little is confirmed for release in 2020.
This series has so much potential and I'm not opposed to the new direction but it's going to get buried considering people this month bought FF7 Remake, RE3 and Trials of Mana.

Why are the faces so disturbingly odd? I have seen thousands of hours of anime/JRPG style games and these faces are so disturbingly off. It is the eyes, and yet, still something else is just off. Maybe it is how they are so damn far apart? No worries, I would only play this if it was $10 since I am utterly sick of "story" in games where the "story" is a guy being a creep around all woman. Seems odd that during a war, he has time to dating sim for 80% of the time. No thanks.

@@VillainViran the guy? mainly just the creepy dialog choices. I get that he is only as creepy as the player makes him, but it's still creepy that you have the ability to play him as some pervy creeper =P In all honesty, that bugs me far less then those freaky faces!!! I thought it was just me but I showed my Daughter this video and she was like "Oh gosh, what is up with those derp faces?" my son however was just "All Anime games look stupid" he is a bit of an edgelord at times. Also, any JRPG that is not Dragon Quest is just terrible in his jaded eyes.
