239 goals from 685 appearances. Those are amazing stats for a defender. I don't see anyone coming near that anytime soon.
Some think that Ramos comes close, but if you look at the figures you'll see that for the 100 goals scored in LaLiga by Ramos, he needed 700 matches in 17 years. Compare this to Koemans' 88, scored in LaLiga in just 264 matches in 6 years.

He could dribble, he could score and be essential for his team as a ruthless defender or a cold blooded free kick specialist.
Koeman carried the team.
Cruyff taught him well.
Also a young rookie called Pep Guardiola was part of the team before he became the legend that he is today.
Barca played great during this era.

Blaming Setien isn't gonna help. Ig Bartomeu is the main reason for this. Valverde was shitty, and replacing him was mandatory. But yeah, Barto sacked him at the wrong time. The players also wanted Valverde to stay, and wanted Xavi to replace him if at all he was sacked. But yeah, Xavi refused to come coz he doesn't wanna return at least till Barto is around. Setien wasn't that bad. The game against Villarreal proves that, coz Barcelona actually played well in that game, and Setien got his tactics right. But yeah, he did take some poor decisions, as in, resting Puig for the crunch games. But yeah, he's been okay overall. Sacking him was obvious, coz we've witnessed the greatest defeat in Barcelona's history under his tenure. But yeah, Barcelona lost bcoz they had older players, who weren't really eager to play under Setien. Just look at the Bayern team. Excluding Neuer and Lewandowski, all the other players were below the age of 30. Look at Barca. Excluding De Jong and Ter Stergen and Lenglet, all the other players were above 30. See the difference?? Yeah. Barcelona might've lost bcoz Setien got his tactics wrong. But yeah, the main reason for our humiliation( or I'd say, humiliations) is Bartomeu's poor recruitment of players

I have seen much of these goals back in the early 90s and I find this video poor because of the slow-motion effect which makes difficult to realise how powerful, sometimes even violent, his kicks were. Yet, he was quite good with ball technique also. Amazing player.
Exactly. These older balls were no joke, you have to have a canon attached to your leg to shoot that hard. The cameras back then didn’t do it justice.
