I really like Tyler's ability to solve puzzles while objectively knowing nothing about the real world. That a roll top desk is not a piano. Or how a steam engine governor works.
Welcome to the modern day. I know how to do 99% of these things (From the rotary phone, to the typewriter), but I can understand the newer generations not. I am just weird and into old stuff.
20:40 FYI: In mobile this puzzle require you to play 2 bells at the same time using the touch screen.
That's why in my opinion I thought the mobile versions were better. The first 3 games had a factor of you tilting your phone to do a puzzle, with the 4th being multiple bells. The PC ports came after which is unfortunately why those certain puzzles felt a bit bland compared to playing the mobile version.
True I think the movie versions of the games were better in that regard
@@astroaiden3645 "i did not hit her, that's not true, i did not. Oh hi Mark."
If you have a vr headset, you’ll probably LOVE “I expect you to die” absolutely fascinating game
he said at some point that vr games don’t work well for him because he shakes a lot and it’s bad for video
@@lucasc8972 true I do remember that somewhere. I’ll still insist that he will love the game, even if he doesn’t upload a video on it
17:50 “that’s the shape of a well, well that’s gonna go somewhere” has to be one of the funniest quotes
Man I love that game
He only needs to watch the openings to be convinced to play any of them, they are bangers.
5:00 how DARE you try to hide this from us!!!
Aliensrock scared me thinking we were finally getting a Room 4. Noo. Its just Old Sins. WHICH IS STILL AMAZING
The end screen message thingy literally says The Room 4: Old Sins
@@kazuma9901 oh i didnt remember that, i just ever remember the game was The Room Old Sins
Objectively the best Room game. The Room 3 was amazing, but it never quite recreated the charm of unraveling a single box like the first game did. Putting the game into a dollhouse was absolutely brilliant, allowing it to basically play like 3 while being focused on one object like in 1. Also has far and away the best story, the stories in these games are never complex but Old Sins really nails it, in particular I feel it best gets across the horror of being lost in a labyrinth forever.
Bruh I don't think you know what objectively means
@@dom20141 I do, and I will not be changing my statement.
@@gengarisnotinsmash... Didn't say you should change it, just that you are using the word incorrectly
I also liked the egg puzzle, where you got to go through all the rooms you had been in, noticing something new in the familiar.
14:00 he guesses the answer;
which is growth of a tree
I can't get over how many of these mechanisms can just be bypassed by using one's hands to lift or turn a thing instead of using a tiny knob.
-Wait it's all puzzle?
-Always has been
Tyler: "My sheets are in the lau-"
Chat: "Bro washed his sheets."
Intuition so on point can't distinguish a roller desk from a piano.
"Return of Obra Dinn" a fascinating murder mystery I recommend
Super solid recommendation if he hasn't played it yet. I remember bungling my way through the first time, then coming back to it 7 months later to resolve everything with definitive proof. So much great deduction to be made.
Great game, but not sure it fits his play style. He is in it for the puzzle/logic mechanics more than the story.
I can see him going through a whole range of emotions: being bord with the start, loving the middle, and then hating the cleanup.
It’s been on the patreon nominations list for ages, but it never quite wins the vite
47:00 that device has the 2 balls move outward on centrifugal force proportional to the rate of rotation. It used to be very common for measuring RPM and for governer systems on engines
46:50 you can easily tell that Tyler NEVER saw what the original steam engines looked like
46:50 tyler not knowing how the oldest steam engine ever created works, at least its an amazing game and have a good personality xD
1:02:20 I just noticed that the figure head looks like the one from the model ship in the Room 2!
I believe that it were meant to be from the same ship mentioned in the notes too in 2. The Helena.
At first I didn't like this series. It's just too clicky, noisy, linear and simple. Then it hit me: It's clicky. Everything CLICKS, or slides, or turns. Extremely satisfying
adhd go brrrrrr
@@blu8009 yeah... Click click
54:22 lol. Nice one
Ahhhh such a fun time. Definitely one of the best to me. Also love how Tyler doesn’t need the hints. I think it’s the point (especially for the story) but I get so easily lost amongst the rooms
as a tyler myself, this game is the best in the room series.
edit: this is the most likes ive ever gotten
As another Tyler this is also my favorite room game
As a third Tyler, this is also my favorite room game.
You know, this 4th game really feels like it is a blend of both Room 1 and Room 3.
YES! I have been waiting all week for this video to drop! I love puzzle boxes and escape rooms, this series is awesome!
I've been waiting for this video for 5 years AND ITS HERE
100%ed all the 4 room games a while ago, you’re gonna love Boxes: Lost Fragment as a rooms fan!
The end of this; especially the notes from the husband, makes me think of the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose CA.
17:58 flashbacks to Understand
My honest reaction: Oooooooh, gotta cook smth real fast before this one. Can't wait ^^
1:23:08 dudes will literally hit a gong and say hell yeah
I played this so many times on my phone and wow wow wow is this so much prettier. some of the puzzles were changed too, like the bells in the kitchen, some of them you ring simultaneously in the mobile. love to see the prettier version, weird but good
Man, I’m loving the series compilations with the editors new spin
been waiting on this for a long time! Watched the original vods quite a lot 😅
this game is *chef's kiss*
this is the best series i have watch on this channel
16:09 thwacked the pegs
I have been waiting for this for years, an actual Aliensrock video on The Room 4! I could hardly believe my eyes.
His archive channel had it out 3 years ago (check out his The Room Series playlist)
yeah but i mean a fully edited video, not just a vod
So glad this was made into a video!!
For geoguesser unless it has changed you can resume/save as many games as you want. So While only being able to play 1 match per day is very limiting, being able to play 7 a week or 30 a month is not. So just get into a habbit of starting a match every day and you will have a backlog to play.
if your wanting to play more of the room. there is a vr one that is its own complete game
1:30:10 this reminds me of that one puzzle game tyler played that was all about making shapes like this
Me waiting this whole time for him to figure out it's a desk and not a piano.
i want to watch you play the one vr wizard game 😭 i forgot the name of it but it has a talking skull and its so fun!! youd love it
the room of old sims
No wonder it's dangerous
If you have a vr headset, there's a room game for that
Remember Patricks Parabox? The attic version is here 😂😂
ngl a lot of what the box series is teaching me is that current Tyler is pretty damn hot
You should play Typoman.
At least 1 or 2 more of these left
One of them being in vr
It's OK, I thought it was a piano too.
The only thing i don't like about this game is that how much it speeds up near the end.
will we get a sequel to the room 5: a dark matter now? To finish off all that's been released so far?
You should play an extension thing for portal 2, which is called portal revolution.
tyler just casually hating on the story throughout
Puzzles with a story attached like a parasite
😂😂 I actually like the story tbh
@@stylaxlwh It's very confusing when you actually play the game. The story is expanded page by page. Meanwhile. you have to juggle multiple puzzle elements, so whenever a new page unlocked you sorta forget the previous pages.
The video is cut down a lot so the story come together a bit more coherent. You can see at the end that Tyler played for 4 and a half hours.
@@theAcum that makes sense, typically in games im the one who collects every item and talks to every npc so i tend to focus on the story more but i understand that its super confusing sometimes lmao
If you liked this you should try Pineview drive
3:00 That shape looks strangely familiar if you know what I mean...
1:10:50 CHEERS
Tyler, uhh, I found a 5th room game which I don't know if you completed or not, the main issue is this, it is a VR game. I do hope I can see you playing it, but I fully understand if you refuse.
The Room Series playlist on his channel, last video. He's played it
can't get over how much the anatomical model looks like mark zuckerberg
There has to be a room 5 upcoming, right... please I don't want to be left on this cliffhanger
The next entry in the series is an VR game. It's not connected to the storyline of this one. The video title is "This VR Puzzle Game is a Masterpiece! - The Room VR"
This one gave me Rose Red vibes
Edit: Actually I'm 100% sure this is inspired by Stephen King's books. It screams some inspiration from The Shining as well
I wonder, if you like this, would you be up for playing Botany Manor?
Tyler is a Leaf Peeper
Have you considered playing the anomaly games?
The witness
Wow
If you liked this Tyler, you'll probably like House of Da Vinci.
1:36:18 idk, but something about that dragon just doesn't feel quite right....
Hi Tyler❤
Is it bad that you only realized what maritime means here 1:17:09
SPOILERS FOR END OF VIDEO IN THIS COMMENT!
I like how the end of this was an attic inside of an attic inside of an attic inside of an attic inside of an attic inside of an attic... man, that's a lot of attics in attics
1:27:33 Considering your tastes in puzzle games, perhaps give Fullmetal Alchemist a try. You're gonna be more lucky finding a good dub of Brotherhood rather than the OG...
Every time he uploads a room video, I am violently and painfully reminded that he doesn't understand mechanical principles very well.
Spoilers beyond this point
For context, I'm currently watching him not understand what a steam engine is.
Life is pain but I believe in you, you can figure it out!
... You just flipped all the nozzles upside down, like that would do anything.
That is an inertia dampener, it's supposed to make it so the steam engine doesn't explode.
YOU OPEN THE THING BY MAKING IT SPIN

Almost there :D

Nah I never knew this either dw
