I'm from the states, so I didn't grow up with these commercials but they are allot like the ones we had here in the 80's. There's a charm from that era that I miss.
Everyone used to run around saying "OK!" like the ad. And we all were sure that's where the guy in mad max 2 got the "OK!" from when talking about fixing the truck.
Somebody graffit’d these little dudes on a wall down the Birmingham new road in Wolverhampton back in the 80’s and the council got rid the spoilsports, was a work of art aswell
I remember most of these. I'm sure there was a board game with the Weetabix crew made at some point, though it might have been a back of the box cutout thing. Still have the Deadly Shadow CYOA book featured at 4:47. The Just Do It ad at 8:02 was very cool at the time, featuring a nod to Michael Jackson's Billie Jean video and employing similar animation to Queen's A Kind of Magic.
Would love to know what year the ad at 6:48 was? I have very vague memories as a child of watching a Weetabox advert which featured a vehicle which had neon or fluorescent wheels streaking across the screen, it’s a memory which had always stayed with me for some reason and I was sure I hadn’t imagined it! The bit at 7:03 makes me think it must have been this advert with that dragster showing lit up neon wheels as it races away! Although in my vague memory I thought it was a tank with neon green wheels/tracks going across the screen. Funny how your memory changes the details slightly!
It was 1985, a bit of a greatest hits megamix of the old adverts to bridge the gap whilst they re-drew the character art and changed the overall tone of the ads from 1986 on - they went in to a bit of a Queen - It's A Kind Of Magic artistic style for a year or so
guess you knew what was good fer you cos you ain't fuckin dead, next time just eat the god damn brickybrack and keep your mouth shut or else they will make it neat, wheat, mate jesus christ wtf
In the 80's there was a prominent oi-punk skinhead culture in the UK and this is a play on that. I don't think these characters are supposed to be parodies of white supremacist skinheads, more just regular 80's punk kids who shaved their heads at that point in time. That's why they have sort of a rough facade.
Bob Hoskins was the original voice for Dunk (later replaced by The Bill actor Christopher Ellison). Brains was also voiced in the early commercials by fellow Bill actor Andrew Paul.

yep true

Dunk, Crunch, Brains, Brian and Bixie, we salute you.

You're making neat wheat, mate!
Okay!
It's so weird but I get this cozy cozy feeling when I watch these ads, like I'm about to burst!!!???
It's the nostalgic feeling.
Crunch and Dunk were cool.
Loved The W Squad one. In homage to the soliders of fortune
8:02 that ad was awesome in every way!
I agree. Great music. It should have been released as a single lol, I love it.
If I didn't know better I swear bob hoskins was the leader
Just a pure concentrate of catchy ad tune and overall animated cheesiness.
The animation of these commercials started out cute but as they went on they got more and more incredible than any right they had to be.
I remember in the late '70's, if a football goalkeeper made an exagerated save, it was referred to as a "Weetabix."
Must've influenced a young jason statham's character development and his whole Hollywood career...
It blows my mind that this is one of Bob Hoskins starting points before Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
He was a well known actor before these adverts, The Long Good Friday was done by 79
Inspiration for the Mitchel brothers on Eastenders!
"You make it neat wheat, mate."
Rgoid Weetabix are superb
love em

My favorite commercial from Weetabix. 8:02
The Weetabix skins were all fun until their Nazi phase
They weren't Nazis, the just had a whole lot of wheat pride.

I remember eating Weetabix before going to school........
TV Tropes' "Let's Meet the Meat" brought me here.
The one at 8mins was prob the earliest one I remember
Now I wanna try a Weetabix to see if its the real deal
The Neet Weet Bunch seemed to have a similar career path to the Beastie Boys
Bob Hoskins voiced one of these?!
Eddie valliant

American, and my 1st time having weetabix was today >.>

Same.
Here too!
Still got my atlas ha! They did try every trick in the book to stay relevant, completely forgot about the W-team.
Who voiced brain and crunch?
What year was the 8 mins 02 advert? The song is so typical 80's. Catchy. I kind of recall it but I can't remember the year?
Late 1986 I believe. Uses the same type of graphics as the Queen video for It's A Kind Of Magic
i like how the upped the quality of animation in the 90s, i think the character designs were way superior too!
*o k a y*
Is Weetabix available in the USA?
Available online with Amazon.
Okay
So, they just entirely dropped the 'gang of street hoodlums' aspect fairly early on...
Who framed roger rabbit actors
you have any idea what that watermark in the first one is from?
I do indeed. It's for TV Ark - the online television museum. Well worth a visit to their site for hundreds of great old adverts and continuity.
I gave it a look and it is pretty good, but I wish they didn't put a watermark on everything
100% agree!
and this is why I eat weetabix
They watered down the skinhead aspect in the later ads.
👍
They definitely voted Reform

Why does the title have "skinhead" in it?
In the 80's there was a prominent oi-punk skinhead culture in the UK and this is a play on that.
