I love this Chevelle. She's flat out gorgeous. I saw her in person many years ago at the CC Summer Nationals in St. Paul. Just an all around great MuscleCar!
I changed over because one of my Super Turbo's #17770 had developed a rattle. A new Super Turbo was hard to find, so a muffler change was a tough decision. I also installed a stroker 496 motor so a different "growl" was needed. The new muffler's also have a higher flow rate. Also I had a balance tube installed. Hope this helps...Let me know if u have any other questions...Just installed new 6-speed Magnum trans...
hey I was wondering what the volume level difference was between the super turbos and the ultra flows? I had a 302 with the dynomax race bullets straight back and turned out by the rears on my falcon. it was pretty loud but def reasonable. since swapping to my fairly built 347 it is an absolute no go. I have only had it out a like 6 times and I have some pretty aggressive neighbor issues already.. While i love the sound if i get on the throttle i can be heard for miles which i don't care for. was looking at the super turbos but worried they might be way too quiet but this doesn't seem too bad. but the ultra flows have my interest. i just don't want to spend the money and it still shake the neighborhood is all. i want to maintain as much of that aggressive muscle car sound while bringing it into the realm of possibility with neighbor and policey consideration
Are you running the Ultra Flo now, do you have a video? Looking to open mine up a bit but I don't want the drone inside the car like you get from the chambered mufflers...
Bill, yes im still running the Ultra-flos. I have a few videos on my page (ABADSS69). You can listen to their sound at idle as during the dyno run.... I recently put Dynomat in the trunk, doors, and under the carpet. Cabin sounds EVEN BETTER inside now...Let me know what u think.... ua-cam.com/users/ABADSS69videos
Thanks dessertbootguy 4 your 1st comment. And what kind of Musclecar do U own? Because MY car was Built 4 MY enjoyment & not 4 ur approval...LOL. Now back 2 r regularly scheduled program....
Hey Metal, thats a very old video. I have recently switched over 2 Magnaflow stainless steel mufflers with the 14" case. I have the same set with an 18" case thats a bit milder. They r offset/offset. l used them for 1 month. In great condition. Let me know if ur interested. U can hear those on my youtube page. Abadss69

Has to be my favorite color
It's odd, and that's why I like it.
I exchanged the Super Turbo's for the Ultraflo's. I returned them back to Summit Racing, and just npaid for the shipping...They were so helpful....

Very nice car.
Thank You...
Nickey Chevelle....Thanks for the comment. i appreciate it....
If you really want to capture that vintage 60's sound, try a pair of Walker turbos. They have a really deep sound, a lot of bass.

Perfect
Thx...The 3" exhaust will be replaced by a X-pipe system with Ultra Flo(17547). Again, I'll go with the turn-downs.

why did you change the mufflers?

Is this one of their quieter mufflers?
Brice Babcock Those are the old Dynomax mufflers. I have the Stainless Steel Magnaflows on it now...
but as far as the different mufflers in the line of this company, where do these range on the volume scale?
Nice sound ! But those wheels are horrendous.
