Awesome presentation, guy knows what he's talking about. He puts in terms the whole family can understand, not to mention it's a quick and easy system to slap the mufflers on and say here's what you get! lol
+Wade McKenney Flowmasters have an annoying hollow-metal-can sound. Plus, they don't flow that well at all because the chambers and baffles impede the exhaust flow. Straight-through mufflers are the way to go.
This video doesn’t do these mufflers justice. I have the bullets on my stock LQ4 6.0 in my 2500 and it was very loud with a lot of decel popping. I like loud exhaust but it was so loud I cut my tailpipes shorter and added my spare Harley Davidson slip on mufflers to the back sounds great now LOL.
Whilst looking on summit, I looked at a dynomax muffler to quiet down my catless 6.0 ls. This video alone, the presentation, the information, and the comparisons just sold me a "quieting" dynomax muffler.
bigorangetrucker You aren't kidding. It has been years since I've bought mufflers but when I had a car, Flowmasters were the cool lick. Once I put a set of Dynomax mufflers on....shit.....It was soooo damn nice to have a quiet car with absolutely NO power loss. The drone that Flowmasters create is unbelievable, I was tickled shitless when I found a good performing muffler that didn't deafen me.
oh man get real! the best sounding muffler that was ever made was a muffler called Sonic Turbo. they were made back in the late 80's and maybe the early 90's. but if you had a good running four barrel vehicle the sound you got when you kicked in the 4 barrels was unreal. they had the sound you dreamed about. if you used headers it was even better. surely someone remembers those mufflers because everybody i knew back then used them. My mind isn't crazy and know one can tell me it is. let me know
I put the thrush welded 2 chambered mufflers on my car with 3" in/out and I LOVE them. They sound just as good as a flowmaster and cost 1/3 as much. Great throaty idle, awesome intimidating roar under hard acceleration and very tolerable on the highway. I had a set of Flowmaster 50's on this car before these and OMG, I will never use a flowmaster product again. the drone was unbearable! I also tried Edelbrock tru-flows, but those are discontinued and sounded REALLY nice. watch my vid^
Ooh, I love this type of demo. It'd be nice if they did something like this for a Honda V6 engine. It would definitely help me decide what type of muffler to use.
I need help!!! I am running a BBC 540 on an Airboat with 4 inch pipes. I need a muffler that will make it as quiet as possible. What ever setup will dampen the sound as much as possible. Please help. Thank you
So ultra flo or turbo ??? What of the two is best in terms of flow and power increase ? From all of em based on sound those are the two that I’m between atm and of course I’ll be getting em in the shortest version I can get because I’m going for a mid exit setup
I've grown to like the Super Turbos very much. They sound great when I accelerate but are not annoying while cruising. For me personally, I think the Ultraflow would be too loud. To each his own.
like my 1994 GMC sierra with a built 350 small block painted the block to look like shit the truck was an old beat up farm truck i astounded my dad when he tried takeing me in the hemi
I don't think their VT muffler existed yet at the time of this video. Regardless, it was discontinued. I'm betting all the reviews about the valve failure had something to do with it.
I HAVE a 3.8 series 11 w/72,000actualmiles I came across a 6" piece that you take pipe out install the 6" piece made by dinaflow I asking what the thing is called
This demo seems to be used with cats. It's too quiet during exchange (when muffs are removed). Was hoping to hear of muffler that could quiet a cat-less system. He also mentions nothing about drone.
For anyone like me who wants to hear back-to-back-to-back sounds:
1:34 - Open headers
2:04 - Bullet Race/"resonator"
2:29 - Glasspack
2:58 - 2 Chamber Welded
4:23 - Ultra Flo Welded (Oval "race" muffler)
4:40 - Ultra Flo SS (Stainless Oval)
5:10 - Turbo
5:36 - Super Turbo
5:58 - "Stock" muffler
God bless you
Awesome presentation, guy knows what he's talking about. He puts in terms the whole family can understand, not to mention it's a quick and easy system to slap the mufflers on and say here's what you get! lol
Ultra flo for quiet mode, race bullets for loud mode.
The best companys are flowmaster, thrush and flowtech
+Wade McKenney Flowmasters are fucking shit.
+Wade McKenney ...Flowmasters are fart cannons for tunerz.

Says who; you?
+OddTimeMan watch vids about the performace defferance the chambors give power
why doesnt every company do this?
Agreed! That was awesome
.......and they need to *NOT* BE IN SUCH a hurry to pull them off.... let it idle a couple seconds before yanking them.
I prefered the raw startup pipes 👍

What model did you get ? Same problem 5.3
Like that slip on slip off demo of mufflers.
wish they would also use a stock engine as well. not everbody has 1000's of dollars engine at home
wow! very educational! thanks for sharing

the drone goes away after the eardrums breakin. seriously, ultraflos are nice. quiet at idle and loud at wot

I have those on my car. I've had them since mid '80s. I'm not sure if they sound that good anymore. Maybe my imagination?
That's all very good, but a sound meter as well would make it more informative,
on a video you are only getting the sound from the audio
Well, I shot this from a flip phone, many moons ago...so take it for what it is!
Theres no discernable difference between the last 4 when filmed with a calculator like this video is
I thought I was getting the Super Turbo muffler, but actually got the Ultra Flo.
This should be interesting.... :-D
How did it turn out? I’m going from SuperTurbo to UltraFlo in a few weeks and will post a video:)
@@111000100101001It is GREAT!
JUST the right amount of sound, for my particular engine etc.
My dads cousin sisters husbands brothers uncle neice was 14 she had a brothers cousins daddy who had a red thunderbird flowmaster
grngs1 😂😂😂😂😂
Cool demonstration. However, I wish it was a true "under-load" test to get a more accurate sound. Still cool.
We don't need no stinkin' Flowmaster or Magnaflow!
Magnaflow is the best
This video actually made the decision for me! Here's my result: ua-cam.com/video/OAocnSyH3XI/v-deo.html
this was such a helpful video!
Cool demo. What a great idea!
Nice demo and summary of each type of muffler.

Question for anyone who can answer I have a 1977 Cutlass Supreme Is very loud What type of Muffler would you prefer For me to get to quiet it down
Cool! Thanks for the upload
I got the ultraflow on my 2010 SHO....and i love the sound
Out of all of them I liked the sound of no muffler. Thanks haha 🤣
2:42 red ones I WANT THEM BADLY!
So nice explained and demonstrated
Got that old Mopar sound, don't they?!
Weak

Good vid, would like to see done professionally with better recording equipment
excellent demonstration and overview of exhausts
I put on a set of Dyno max super turbo , who made the old Sonic Turbo muffler then it was called a Tuff Truck Turbo
For me, my dynomax super turbos are still too loud. What next?
Joe just trying to decide on ultraflo and super turbo. How is your car when you rev it up or on idle?
I've grown to like the Super Turbos very much. They sound great when I accelerate but are not annoying while cruising. For me personally, I think the Ultraflow would be too loud. To each his own.
Joe thanks a lot. Really appreciate it! I’m
Putting it on an ‘85 Trans Am and having a tough time picking
like my 1994 GMC sierra with a built 350 small block painted the block to look like shit the truck was an old beat up farm truck i astounded my dad when he tried takeing me in the hemi
i have a muffler which was used on a 2002 GMC Yukon Denali
can i used it on a 98 Camaro Z28 or shall i get the 17327 ?
How would a dynomax ultraflow exhaust system sound inside of a 2002 monte carlo ss?
I had a set on my car back in the day and they were a sweet sounding muffler.
What is the muffler his demonstrating at 4:24 ? Want to buy it!
What a great demo! No bs, just great info and to the point.
They forgot to test the vt muffler!!
I don't think their VT muffler existed yet at the time of this video. Regardless, it was discontinued. I'm betting all the reviews about the valve failure had something to do with it.

Yes, 9 years ago on a cell phone. No HD phones back then, sorry.
Potato
Mufflers are for Girls- Straight Pipe Life !!!
Plz make heads for the new SHO...that would be awesome
The best sound in this video was the straight pipes lol
They need 90* elbows so the sound points towards the crowd
All sound the same. Try tail pipes next time
