    Very useful overview. My background is in the private sector (cover letter, CV, ideally a person as a point of contact etc.). While the Canadian federal government screening process makes it is wired very differently, and I appreciated having it laid out.

    Very informative video. Your job applying process is very structured. It would be very helpful if you could please make a video about resume format for Canada's federal jobs. Thanks in advance.

    I got invited to do an online exam next week for a government job (AS-03). I have two hours to complete the exam. They will be testing Effective communication(written), Ability to handle stressful situations and work under pressure, Ability to use technology. Do you know how those exam are conducted? Are they monitored? Do I need a proctor?

    I've applied for a G job and passed the written exam. Then I got interviewed last month. They asked for my referees for reference check at the time of interview. But till now I'm waiting to hear back from them. In my Job status it shows "Your application has been retained. You will be contacted directly if you are to be assessed further". What does it mean? Is it still under the assessment process or I'm not selected? If it is under process how long it may take?

    Thanks very much for these resources! I'm working on a screening question that asks if I have experience managing technical projects and then uses "i.e" to list six sub-disciplines in the project field. I have experience in various stages of project management in all six sub-disciplines. Just wondering how I can concisely approach this question?

    Good video. Would you incorporate the same template but with a higher level answer? So more in-depth, more breadth, etc.

    Thank you very much for this video! :) I applied for 2 positions and the status is: "Your application has been retained. You will be contacted directly if you are to be assessed further.". Does that mean I'm in the pool or not yet?

      That is called inventory, so you are in the inventory not a pool. Once you are selected for interview and pass security check and other requirements that’s when you are in the pool. Being in inventory means nothing other than being an applicant while being in a pool means that you are a potential candidate who can receive an offer anytime. So inventory is a list of applicants and a pool is list of successful candidates for the positions.

    Thank you for the video! It is helpful. I'm not a Canadian citizen, is it possible to be hired for a part-time federal job?

    • @fedjobscanada9909
      @fedjobscanada9909  2 роки тому

      The job posting will state if you have to be a citizen - check the “Who can apply” section. But many job postings will say Persons residing in Canada, which means as long as you have a Canadian address you can apply

      I don't know much about it, but it's similar to Excel. It's used to compile databases. Beyond that, not sure what else it does.
