I just sat and watched this video with my 91 yr old mom. What a wonderful few moments of memories we shared. We lived here in Bradian (Bralorne, BC) in the 60s in a few of these houses. The tin roofs were because of the volume of snow so it slid off. Man, did we get great icicles from those tin roofs. We were one big mining family. Life was great, until the mine closed. We left in 1969. My dad poured the last gold brick so we were one of the last families to leave. I finished grade 7 there and can honestly say living there was the best time of my life.
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada here's what's so cool about growing up in a town like this. The mine owned everything. These were mine owned houses so rent was dirt cheap. There was a ski hill, again owned by the mine and all the parents chipped in and ensured us kids got there and everything ran smoothly. Same with the swimming pool and the theatre, skating, etc. There were company picnics at the lake (Gun Lake) that everyone went to, so as I said, it was one big mining family. I guess that's the way it is when you're so secluded from civilization! You'll notice how big our yards were, and no fences anywhere. Our family had 2 horses that roamed freely and we had an assortment of dogs and cats that roamed just as freely. For that matter, so did us kids! There was an abandoned bunkhouse on the hillside up behind our house and we spent most of our free time playing in that old building. Thanks for this video. It has really brought back some great memories for both me and my mom today.
I have a cabin at Gun Lake, been going there for the last 42 years. Thanks for the amazing story Lexi, I loved exploring this area and the mine up the road as a kid dirtbiking in the summer. Beautiful place to be.
With all the new wind turbines coming out for household use. It might an ideal place to have them there and of course a good wood stove. In Saskatchewan some news media are saying some towns are ghost towns or have become unincorporated, but most houses are inhabited. Whether they still pay property taxes still is anybody's guess ?
Some people do live up in that area. I was there a in 2021 I think with some friends. It is a beautiful area, but personally, I wouldn't live there. I understand if someone wants to live "off grip", fair enough, but just from my experience, I'd probably select a different location. The nearby locals I did meet left me with some sense that if anyone doesn't like you, you may never fit in there. And in a place that's already remote, you probably don't wanna be socially isolated. Having said that, Lillooet was absolutely lovely. Don't think I've seen a place with more polite drivers in all of BC. And the drive from Lillooet up towards Bradian is incredible. When we went, the dams had been opened for repairs, so the lake was almost empty. Got to see old tree stumps, the original river going through the valley, and some of the foundations of old homesteads that'd been flooded when they built the dams. Was very surreal!

Interesting that many of these home have tin roofs. And those look like they are still in great shape. Smart thinking when they were built. Btw...great video too!
So cool! I've been exploring all around here. It's funny to see someone else's video. The story goes that back in the late 60's hippies squatted here. So the "MAN" came along and blew up the mine to get rid of the hippies.
The fact that they were boarded up means that someone thought the town might be occupied again. Looks like the mine was worked out, so no reason to stay.
Glad I returned to this post a year later. Still gently moving; you seem a friend to the houses. Some of their insides look well finished and cared for.
Hi guys. That was something I was wondering about. Were there any buildings here with hydro still turned on? Or Brent, have you ever been in a place that still had the hydro on? Because I have seen empty places where the outbuilding lights are still on...I guess for security.

Unlike most western ghost towns, that I've seen, I didn't see any old out buildings, shuttered stores and businesses etc., Just houses in disrepair. Granted they are still in better shape than in some western ghost towns. To attract people to a ghost town you would need more than just dilapidated houses. That said, this ghost town has one huge thing going for it, and that's the view. The view is breathtaking. I don't know if the houses are salvageable or not. If this town went to the right buyer, with new houses or with the old ones, this place would make one hell of a vacation spot.

Abandoned Urbex Canada Wow! All I got was this little “necessities” case from the airline. ‘Course my case was a bit different. There were 5 of us waiting at National in DC. It was snowing. Bad news was the flight got cancelled; good news was the crew for the plane sitting on the ground in Baltimore (our plane) was in Baltimore. One of our guys heard that they were going to send the crew up to Baltimore in a van and they’d fill the rest of the van with passengers. Our guy said “I’m 5 people.” So between the crew and us, we filled the van.
Got our luggage by lunchtime the next day. Thank goodness I had my makeup in the pocketbook I was carrying. I was glad luggage got there. I wanted my formal gown for the last nights banquet. As the 1st woman that NuTone hired for their sales force that I’d set the tone for future women’s attire. It was 200 salesmen and me. During regular time I was one of the guys but during conferences I was everybody’s little sister ☺️
Oh and it snowed off and on the whole time. When we flew back into National we almost slid into the Potomac River. But I think that was the time I got to meet Joe Garigiola (spelling?).
Contrary to what this person said, Bralorne returned to mining operation in 2009 and continues to produce gold to this day. The houses in Bradian are private property and are marked as such, so author knowingly trespassed. Bradian is a small group of homes between Bralorne and the truly abandoned Pioneer mine.
I'm sure that there'd be a way to turn that little town into a quiet getaway destination, if you could determine what sort of recreational opportunities were around, and market it properly...
Hi Brent. Beautiful country you live in despite airline losing your luggage. I can relate. My question is about mining companies. Did they build the houses and the employees moved into them? All the layouts are similar. Thank you for letting us join you.

Glad you enjoy them and thank you for re watching them 😁
This is a great small town for individuals who are willing to out in the work for a fixer upper and create a more sustainable way of life off the grid.
Love seeing the deer, the scenery is breathtaking. I love nature so much. The views through the mountains were so incredibly beautiful. :-) Such a beautiful little town,,, makes me wonder about the place and the people who lived there.. Thank you for sharing.
Your welcome Dawn glad you enjoyed it😁👍
In 1990 I went to visit my friend Barry James who lived in Gun Lake, one morning we went for a ride to this amazing gost town(Bradian), I remember there was not so much brush all around, it was all much clean, it looks like one day People just left all at once, the people had left the town 20 years early back then but it looks almost the same, I have been to many abandoned places and I always find a lot of dust inside the house but not in this place
Thanks for the video, Greetings from Rumorosa Baja California
Oh wow thanks for sharing this Collin 😁
The first time I set foot in BC, I fell in love with it. Such beautiful country.
It sure is, I can’t wait to go back
I wonder how many warm meals, embraces, Christmas eves/ days were had here. I hope one day life out in this old town will again become feasible.
That was so cool to watch .. loved the soundtrack ...fit the atmosphere of what a peaceful looking place to live .. rivrers flowing with fish . Forrest's free to roam ... Nature rules!!!Ho Ho Ho Green Giant.. thanks for the view . Inspirational in many ways...😂
Thanks John I’m glad you liked it 😁🇨🇦🌲
For how old those houses are, they’re in good shape. The previous owners did a good job preserving them. I could see these houses being used as a resort. Just a little TLC and rent them out
So beautiful. Wish I was there or anywhere that I didn't have to hear about all this Corona Bologna nonstop.....
Ya same here. Sick of hearing about it. We just have to let it run it’s course
Life is so depressing right now and that would be my go to place to live in peace.
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada i live in the valley ... it's all consuming topic here as well. With a year round population of 100-150 in the valley ... avalanch gates are down and men posted ,.. if not recognised , told to turn around. Collin S Bueno wow! Thanks for sharing this. The town I drove through to get to Bradian was called Bralorne and they have a population of 67! I live in a town population of 75,000! What town do you live in?
British Columbia is definitely on my bucket list! Thanks for the awesome video.
Your welcome!
You're cute- "high up in the mountains". We sit at 14,000 feet, lol. Your scenery is stunning!!!! One day, I'm going to take a vacation up there. I'm impressed with you're narration, calm and polite, and respectful. You also provide information, which I really find helpful. Thank you. The quiet music is also really nice. Did any of these homes have plumbing of any kind, or power?
Thank you for your positive comment 😁 ya I guess it’s not as high as you lol I’m from Ontario and don’t see any mountains so this was high for me. I’m pretty sure the houses had power and plumbing at one point
There are power lines as seen in the video.
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada Outhouses are seen. Bathrooms have sink and tub - no toilets
Beautiful scenery
How wonderful you were able to catch the salmon spawning while visiting our beautiful province
Yes! And fat bears eating them 😁👍
You mean gold.
Some of these homes look so cozy.❤
That place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Loved the scenery!!! Thanks for sharing this little bit of Canada.
Your welcome!
Love the bluegrass, reminds me of living in East Tennessee.
😁👍
East Tennessee is awsome i sadly live in middle Tennessee
@@00loudog middle Tennessee has its own beauty and little gems. I guess when you live there you kind of forget you have them. Even west Tennessee has them. I lived out by the state park there and found a hidden gem, a path along the river. I thought I was in one of those fairy tale forests with the hanging moss. Then it opened up to the river. When your up on the Cumberland Mountains and looking out I get awe struck at the beauty. Happy hunting for yours.
@@debraellison6255 i moved out to new mexico for a little bit and forgot how beautiful Tennessee really is its the land of the rolling hills my husband and i actually want to move out to east Tennessee we are nature people we live in nashville and they just cant stop building here pretty soon itll be all concrete jungles no more forest
@@00loudog noisy Too! Good hunting finding the best place for you. There are a lot of good choices.
As a gold prospector in BC, I absolutely love these videos. Really need to make my way out to some of these old mining towns. The history is incredible.
Wow this reminds me of being a kid and driving across Canada to visit family. There is nothing like seeing the views and different animals. It’s so beautiful ❤️ how cool to think about the people who used to live in the town and their lives lol
I just love the scenery!!! It's really beautiful!! Makes me think about moving!!
Lori Mast its so nice I can’t wait to go back! 😁
Interesting that many of these home have tin roofs. And those look like they are still in great shape. Smart thinking when they were built. Btw...great video too!
Thank you! The previous owners years ago put on tin roofs on some of them.
So cool! I've been exploring all around here. It's funny to see someone else's video. The story goes that back in the late 60's hippies squatted here. So the "MAN" came along and blew up the mine to get rid of the hippies.
That’s great! Thanks for sharing this 😂 sounds right to me. Lots of hippies in BC 😁👍🇨🇦
Such a beautiful scenic area n sad that it's just been abandoned. Thank u for sharing it with us 😉☘
Your welcome! Thanks for watching I’m glad you liked it. 😁👍
lots of happy memories there it feels. Such a beautiful place to have lived
For sure! 😁🇨🇦🌲
landscape wonderful
Hernanny Barbosa It was wonderful! Thanks for watching.
The fact that they were boarded up means that someone thought the town might be occupied again. Looks like the mine was worked out, so no reason to stay.
Glad I returned to this post a year later. Still gently moving; you seem a friend to the houses. Some of their insides look well finished and cared for.
Thank you ☺️
I had a friend in Bralorne, pretty close.
Cool! Yes it’s right beside Bradian
I was born in Bralorne in 64, we moved when the mine closed the first or second time.
Love this place. Maybe if they sold off in lots some of these cabins can be refurbished make a great place to get away
Oh for sure, hydro and sewer is there ready to go
Hi guys. That was something I was wondering about. Were there any buildings here with hydro still turned on? Or Brent, have you ever been in a place that still had the hydro on? Because I have seen empty places where the outbuilding lights are still on...I guess for security.
I love old houses and homesteads 😁 lol. They're addictive lol.
That's what I was thinking, it could be a cool place to go camping.
Been to this town and it was amazing and so beautiful. The drive was an awesome experience.
Sure was can’t wait to go back
Lawn mowing the grass and you got a highway. Paint the house and you got a restaurang. Up with the sign again and you got a city. 😀
What about food?
Don't forget a huge greenhouse to grow your veggies! 3600 feet I think he said!
Just absolutely Beautiful!
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to explore more up there!
BEAUTIFUL . GLAD IT'S STILL INTACT
Love the scenery, beautiful mountains . Such tiny homes 🏡. Great video and music.
Thank you👍❤️
Abandoned Urbex Canada 🙂
VERY NICE VIDEO, THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO. LOVE ITS BEAUTY.
Fascinating!! Thank you so much for doing this video!! Would be a great movie set! 😊🌸🇨🇦
Great to see a place abandoned that long that isn't full of graffiti & broken glass.
Vandals can’t afford to drive out here to far 😂
Abandoned Urbex Canada Yes, it takes gas which costs $$$ and they’d rather spend $$$ in other ways. Thank goodness. My husband and I were at this site many moons ago. I always remember the town being in a setting much like Gilmore Idaho, which we visited several times and were always ‘alone’ in these out-lands when we did so, much to our joy.
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada good job the vandals can't afford to get there plus they would more than likely to dum anuff to get ripped to prices by a bear 🤔 wouldn't be a bad thing to offer the vandals a lift and just drop them off nearer to where the bears can easily get them far anuff away from the actual village/town so they can't escape from the Bears Could even make a video of them getting killed by bears could title it vandalising scum get their comupance

beautiful scenery ....oh how I miss living in BC...those little houses sure are something else too 👻 someone should go there and remodel some of them and start a colony there again
Were nice little homes for the time period the mine was operating.
Beautiful solitude, BC is a magical place!
Scenery is breathtaking
Thanks for the great share a friend from B.C Rob 🇨🇦 😀
Thanks Rob!
Awesome. I will check it out soon. Thanks for sharing.
Loved the bear picks... got a thing for seeing bears... put me in the mind of large laid back dogs.
Great vid.
Thank you!
When my grandfather and his brother came across they ended up in Canada. I never met him but I have loved Canada. This made me think of him. Thank you.
So sad to see all those forgotten wooden houses.
Just wonder what a nice place to live it should have been years ago.
If you were to locate the tailing piles from the mines, I would imagine as any gold & silver mines they didn't get it all, especially close river & creeks run off's, the metal detectors they have now are incredible! Be a great place to spend the Summer's in, prospecting for gold, cool adventure thx for sharing! Watch your six in them wilds places! There's more then just bears out there!! Safe travels 👍🌲🌲
These little buildings would have been so cozy back in its day. They are so tiny and the scenery around this little town is absolutely stunning. Great camera work. Thanks for sharing.
Your welcome 😁
Crazy to see all those little cottages/houses just wasting away. Super cool that you made the Reader's Digest!
Thank you 😁👍
I wouldn't mind for a vacation! I lived in NFLD for 3 years and I'd go back in a heartbeat, with a passport of course. If this place can be fixed up with a general store or grocery store in walking distance.....
Place is great, Small town is close but nothing much there. Population 67 😳
BC is SO beautiful, you'll have to visit again! Another great video, thank you!!
tee spoon Thank you! I will return soon. I can’t wait! 😁
me and a few friends called one of these buildings hunting camp last season. we actually weren't the only ones in town at the time, another group of hunters staying in their holiday trailers were there.
Just love looking and reading about this kinda history. I just imagine what it was like when those house's and the town was occupied, full of life !
Glad you enjoyed it! My explore will be in the Readers Digest Canada magazine this June/July’s issue 😁
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada Yeah you were in my recommendations this morning . Subscribed. I notice you do alot of houses which is cool in it's self, did you or will you do more towns. I live in BC and there's a few out here, like Bradien of course, anyway good work and impressed with your video quality.
Dave Liebrock thank you! Yes I’m planing a trip to BC this summer but not sure if I will be able to fly out there with what’s going on. 😞
I was waiting for the 3 bears to come barreling out of the room....

I fear the cougars before the bears they go for the throat 😳
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada lots of cougar sightings in the valley last year. In and around Lillooet as well. I work in the jungle .. not afraid of bears so much as a kittie on the hunt.
Dang I haven't made it up to Bralorne and Bradian yet! Looked like a great adventure!
lifeofluke Amazing Luke! You will be fine driving there your used to the crazy roads lol I’m from Ontario and don’t see that kind of driving conditions. So many other places I want to visit there just not enough time. Next summer my friend.
Thanks for a soothing video! I hope to visit places like this someday. I’m presently in Hong Kong I was born in Canada and I’m basically stuck there due to Trudeau’s mandatory three day stay at a covid hotel plus $2000.00 fee. Hong Kong is a very crowded and extremely noisy place. Your video is gold to me and makes me want to live in a peaceful solitude place after my Hong Kong experience.
This is the show where I was introduced to your channel, been hanging out ever since. Hopefully you can get back to BC and check out some more ghost towns. Keep up the great explores
The nature looks so beautiful there.
It sure is
Thankyou for shareing your interesting explore.
Your welcome, glad you liked it
I grew up in the Okanagan, and I’ve never heard of this mine, this is super interesting!
Very cool place, mine is running again but the houses are not
Angry Hippo your Dad worked in mining, makes sense you’d know of the mines in BC.
I was looking for a place to live off grid, this seems to be the one
Yes it sure is the one
I just bought the town. Cmon down lol
I’m not sure if you’re from BC but there’s so many places in BC and in Canada that are literally OFF GRID come to BC Canada please
Bit of a hike to the nearest grocery store, gas station, doctor...
Awesome video thanks for sharing

Enjoyed this video. Thank you. The paved roads at the beginning of the video (the one with the title), plus the paved road switchbacking to your vantage point at 0:26-0:30, plus the road with the deer and the one with your car parked at about the 1:00 minute mark.... where are these exactly? I tried to find them on Google maps in relation to Bradian but couldn't find the same features. Thanks
I drove from Vancouver to Lillooet and then to Bradian. There is another way but the roads are a lot more changing
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada Thanks

That's awesome about the Readers Digest. This place seems to have a lot of history to it, appreciate you bringing to attention.
Awesome filming! Thanks for the adventure!
Thank you Nancy 😁❤️
Lovely little ghost town. Really feel for the people. Lost their jobs and their homes. These were about the size of one of the houses I grew up in. Not having your luggage sucks. Happened to me one time. Were you on vacation? Hope you got all your stuff back! Thanks for taking us with you. And this is where you got the pics of the bears fishing! You have smarter deer in Canada. Here they just jump at the car 😏. Take care and stay safe! ~~~Deb from Virginia
Yes I got my luggage back but I was aloud to replace everything in my suitcase while I was out there so I went on a shopping spree😁
Amazing. Simply amazing. Thank you, your channel is a blessing 🍻🍻
Such a beautiful video exploring this beautiful ghost town God bless all the people that used to live and work there in the mines
My dad was a miner at the Bralorne Mine. We left in the early 60’s. I have wanted to go back and greet the ghosts!
Oh cool!
Oh for sure I think your right!
If the homeless find it they'll take it over and spruce it up real nice.
Hi Brent. Beautiful country you live in despite airline losing your luggage. I can relate. My question is about mining companies. Did they build the houses and the employees moved into them? All the layouts are similar. Thank you for letting us join you.
Thank you, Yes they did, but once the mine shut down they all moved out
