It honestly sometimes is more beneficial when you show something going wrong than everything going right I think it gives the viewer a better understanding of what they’re putting at risk and what to avoid! Great tutorial btw I’ve been wanting to eye swap my dolls
when you pluck out the heads from the neck peg i have a little tip i find useful! i usually just push their head downwards and let the hole expand a little before removing it from the neck peg, it really works most of the time so you might find this helpful!
I found that it’s not necessary to remove the head. I put the entire doll in a large ziplock back, dunked her head in a boiling pot and the was able to pop the eyes right out.
I bought a Sunny head from aliexpress and I'm trying to put Delilah's eyes in. No matter how soft her head is, I cannot insert it in her eyesocket. The only result I got is that I scratched all the bottom eye paint! This is a nightmare, I envy your skills XD
Oh my gosh, the original video you made on how to eye swap/fix wonky rainbow high eyes was the first video of yours that I ever watched and I’ve been a constant watcher of your videos ever since!
Thanks for the video! It was easier to understand than the ones I watched previously and it gave me some good tips on how to fix my first two eye swaps that ended up womky and one losing her lashes (I swapped cheer Sunny and cheer Violet’s eyes with Violet ending up with wonky eyes and lost lashes). I just hope to fix them at some point and master eye swapping in the future. As for Holly and Laurel, they look cuter with bangs and heterochromia would have been a cool idea, though I still don’t care for their outfits.
omg a tinsel removal video would be a GODSEND i spent so long plucking margots tinsel out individually, if theres an easier method you would be offically saving my hands from cramping as badly as they did that day.
I'm living for Miss Brooke's tutorials 🖤 it's very helpful for us collectors if we want to alter our dolls. I really wanna see a tutorial on how to fix RH loose joints on the knees tho haha..since that usually the problems that I've face with my RH dolls
Great tutorial👏! Thanks so much for sharing they look so different with the eye swaps 😍 I've done eye swaps on American Girl dolls & it's very hard to do so getting the heads very soft is probably the best thing to do for sure 👍 now I'm off to finish eye swapping an AG doll that's only been waiting years for me to finish her eyes, poor thing 😂
this video came up when i was looking for a tutorial on how to swap rainbow high eyes and you have such a fun energy in addition to being super helpful. love it!
I did some eyes swap like 3 months ago and I hurt the side of my thumb by doing a lot of force It still hurts : ( so be careful when doing the eye swap.
This video was really helpful! I just eye swapped 6 dolls and it took me 4.5 hours but so worth it! I think for tips from my experience I would put the heads in a ziplock bag and put in boiling water for 8-10 minutes and then try and put the eyes in. For some dolls I swapped I think the plastic was slightly thicker because I did Tessa Park and I had to boil her head so many times to get it squishy enough. I hope I can get better at it so I can do more customs 😅
I’m still nervous to try even though you did a great tutorial! And we are in a severe heatwave here in California I wish we had rain I’m super jealous!
When the customizable dolls come out with the warm and cool colored doll, do you think they will give them a special sculpt that lets kids change the eyes more easily. I feel like that would happen for a kids toy, and probs make the face mold look odd
I'm a grown 34 year old guy with blisters on his thumbs and a pulled arm muscle. I genuinely can't understand how you do it so easily lol. At this point my cheryl is gonna stay a cyclops and I'm gonna just have to accept everyones natural eye colors.
@@xCanadensis I've tried a strong high heat hairdryer, and I've tried boiling water. It's as squishy as it can possibly be ): I manage to get half the eye in each time and then it's always stuck on the corner. It's not the little pegs getting caught or anything, i just don't have the strength to push the last corner in? Even when its super super squishy. I must be doing something wrong but I can't figure out what.
Flattening the head when the eye is in that position and wiggling around can help. Unfortunately this isn’t easy but trust me it’s possible. When they give me hell I walk away for a while and when I return it’s like magic. Also if you go inner corner in first you can pull the hair closest to the eyeliner wing to “stretch” the vinyl a bit more
“I think just as an experiment, I’m gonna try Hallie’s eyes in Maya’s head, then I’m gonna try Hallie’s eyes in Sheryl’s head…” imagine hearing this with no context😂
i got a marias head from aliexpress and some purple eyes from there too and ive been tryin for like an hour or more and nothin, cant even fit one. i boiled water in the microwave like 3 times now. and ive tried to put the eyes but i can only fit one corner but not push the rest in.. and the head goes back to not bein as squishy so fast so ive to keep puttin her in the boiling water... update got one of the eyes stuck inside the head --. almost got another stuck inside too. i cant get the eye out, i cut the back of her head to try to get the eye out and cant either. i keep havin to boil water and keep havin to dip the head in to make it squishy . update i was able to remove the eye from inside the head but i had to cut the back of the head even more (if i manage to put the eyes correctly on the sockets then ill ig hot glue the openings in the back. ilve to try puttin the eyes tomorrow night again
i reaaaaly want to do this to my Zooey Electra but i cbf redoing her hair xD Love how indepth this was- i feel confident in doing it now because ive just watched you do it for half an hour Do you think using a handheld garment steamer would work the same way to loosen the heads?
I have a huge left-right-problem (in general, not only with doll eyes) soooo... the eye that has the "r" on the back side is the right eye from the dolls perspective, not from mine... yes?
Somewhat similar. But that video wasn’t great so I thought making an update would be a good idea- I’m doing a tutorial series on RH customization and restyling and this was the first episode
Frustrated... I guess I thought I could handle this half remembering a tutorial lol I needed the head 10 times squishier than I thought. Now I'm going to have to make the best of the semi-ruined eyelashes...Should I just be lucky no paint came off yet?
I haven’t ever had paint come off. I had eyelashes get messed up once because of not having the head heated up enough to go smoothly though. Using false eyelashes for people trimmed to your doll’s size fixes it!
All custom projects are at the risk of the customizer 😅 I’ve never had one be damaged except the eyelashes came out once. What ended up ruining them? The hair, eyes, skin and paint can all withstand very high temperatures so if done with boiling water I’m not sure what could have happened?
Dry heat is much more dangerous as it can very easily go too far and melt the plastic (I do it on purpose for articulation mods). I will never never never never never recommend something that can go that wrong that easily
@@xCanadensis I could see that happening with a embossing gun or a heat gun but a regular hair dryer that people use for their hair? Huh, I wouldn't have expected that it could get hot enough to burn plastic especially since our scalps are a lot more sensitive.
It honestly sometimes is more beneficial when you show something going wrong than everything going right I think it gives the viewer a better understanding of what they’re putting at risk and what to avoid! Great tutorial btw I’ve been wanting to eye swap my dolls
Yes. And they have numbers inside is a new thing for me i will customize one soon. Cool.

this is exactly how you take a Bratz head off !

I still don’t think I’d trust myself to change the eyes of a RH doll, but this is a very well detailed tutorial!
Oh my gosh, the original video you made on how to eye swap/fix wonky rainbow high eyes was the first video of yours that I ever watched and I’ve been a constant watcher of your videos ever since!
Me to. I guess wee all do. Rainbow high was so new
It's a bit of a dollies horror show...lol 😆 rips the head off, pops the eyes out with a pen 🖊 🤣 😂 this should have been your Halloween 🎃 episode 😘💨
the rain made an already super relaxing video even better!! 🌧🌧
I don't think the brown eyes suit Uma but she looks amazing in that dress! Personally I would give her Natasha's/Shanelle's/Heather's eyes
My thesis statement for doing eye swaps is that I’m tired of blue eyes on every doll 😭
@@xCanadensis oh, I get it 😅
@xCanadensis biggest mood!
I think brown looks amazing on Uma, i want more brown eyes on all dolls.. so sick of blue

Very helpful, I’m making a doll of myself and I wanna use Simone but I don’t have blue eyes lol
Omg I recently dyed a Hali and I gave her brown eyes…. So stunning!! I love me some eye swaps!

Thank you for this, super helpful! About to try and build my own Maria Garcia from Ali Express parts!
I am just schocked how much hair they have compared to my Georgia Bloom... Shame they didn't as much hair on her, she is such a pretty doll
TIP: put the dolls head in plastic and then sit in a bowl of hot how water for 30 seconds. Keeps everything dry and less chances of getting burnt.
I love how worried about the way it looks. Dollightful does crazy doll customizations

Hi love your videos!!
I’m still nervous to try even though you did a great tutorial! And we are in a severe heatwave here in California I wish we had rain I’m super jealous!
Thx SO much for this tutorial now i feel more safe doing it
I love the twins with both brown eyes, mine has that but i do love the redhead with blue eyes.
i find that if your carefull just using a hairdryer and and squishing hard enough works for me
I ordered a Delilah cheap and she has a slightly crooked eye. I figured I could straighten it out. This video should be helpful.

You need more heat if it’s not working

Hey this totally worked for Ash and Rexx!
Thank you so much. I have a couple doubles 2nd hand I may try this just for fun.

Do you know if girl’s eyes fit male’s eyes?
Very informative

❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍 i was talking to my daughter about switching demi and elizas eyes earlier and this vid popped up yay :] lol google is such a creeper ha
i literally cannot put them back in 💀💀💀💀 WLEP guess my violet will have no eyes
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH
You made that look extremely easy lol,, I've tried to do it and haven't been successful at all I suck at it 😅.
I’m not brave enough to swap eyes. Very interesting. 😭😭😭

why does it look so natural woah
11:06 did you survive !? 😰
This is very interesting 😃😃 scary but amazing
Sry if you already mentioned this in the Video, but which eye size do you recommend for RH dolls? :)
WoW Love 👌😍😍
nice! but where did you get those iridescent risers?
So I just found out RH girl an boy eyes are not compatible which is very sad.
Now I’m wondering if all the RH boys are compatible
Thank you Brooke for this my,! My Meena’s left eye I wonky I gotta fix that
I have a huge left-right-problem (in general, not only with doll eyes) soooo... the eye that has the "r" on the back side is the right eye from the dolls perspective, not from mine... yes?
Thinking of getting an extra Sunny and giving her blue eyes...
Some people heat the head with a hair dryer??? That's what I've heard anyway, if you want to avoid the water 😉...
Dry heat is extremely dangerous
If I tired this I could never get their eyes right for m they would probably end up Crooked if that’s even possible
This is a horror for my eyes sis 💀👌
Anyways, very helpful video. Love when you do these 🤞
Is it the same for boy dolls?
I have just ruin my brianna doll i hate myselft so much i cant get the eye in :(
If it’s not going in then you need to heat the head up more! It’s difficult with some dolls but it will go back in
this technique was on your first video ?
Somewhat similar. But that video wasn’t great so I thought making an update would be a good idea- I’m doing a tutorial series on RH customization and restyling and this was the first episode

Sheryl with blue eyes looks kinda good not gonlie
If you wanted to buy eye what size would I get
I’m not sure- I’m sorry :(
all right I ruined my dolls attempting this, which is great because one rh doll here costs about 70usd here 🤩 so yeah be careful guys ;-;

I still cant get it in😢

Can you put female eyes in a male doll?
I've never done it but I am pretty sure others have. I've seen people say it works and others say that it doesn't... So I'm not sure, apologies!
@@xCanadensis No worries!
Junior high dolls are way easier it take 10 seconds to take of the head without hot water
Hi , Good but you speak too fast causes loosing informations
That’s just how I speak
A good hair dryer can also give you the heat you need if you don't want to wet the head.

Why not
Wasn’t being negative. It just looked painful. Lol
