This is just your opinion. You didn’t provide any data to support this pretty radical view on hybrid engines. IMHO mild hybrids are great. For very little extra cost you get fuel saving, additional boost when accelerating and silent electric-only driving while in a slow traffic
THere is EV specialized repair shop here and they have many Toyotas with failed battery .Basicly people dont even know that their battery is bad becase Toyota is programed that even when battery fall to just 10-20% off capacity it dont show any error ,and most fail to 20% in 100-150k km .ITs becase its small battery so it gain huge number off cycles fast
My understanding here: get hybrid when lot of city driving is involved. So suitable for taxi drivers they can opt for a hybrid over diesel when city driving?
I had been driving EV for past few months, to my surprise while they are fun to drive, they are costly to run. Here are few issues I have observed, 1) $0.70/kwj at EVGO fast charging station and $0.35/kwh at most other station, 2) hard to find station when you need it.. most of the time I have to take out additional 1-2 hrs to charge my vehicle 3) enable heating or cooling and range drops significantly 4) Efficiency argument seems to be holding only if you have home solar, everyone else is out of luck.. I feel hybrid is a better option from all things considered, efficiency included.
Hybrid luxury trims never made sense to me. Odds are if a hybrid is something I want, I want something cheap and easy to maintain. The early gen prius's nailed this. Some manufacturers and models now don't even offer hybrids until you get 15-20k over base MSRP. Any cost savings you WOULD have had are gone at that point.
The cost of everything on a hybrid is more expensive when compared to a traditional vehicle. Gas consumption is the only good thing but maintenance costs take all of that back. Good video.
Stop acting like it's the peoples or manufacturer's choice. It's due to the ever strictening emissions legislation at a pace that manufacturers are barely able to keep up with. In the case of Toyota, they still give you a reliable naturally asperated engine opposed to a less reliable turbo, the hybrid drive compensates for the lack of the turbo. Imagine calling Toyota out on their hybrid tech although they are industry leading. Actual joke of a channel this is.
Mainstream Hybrids have been around for 25 years yet they have not taken off. Ever wonder why? Meanwhile mainstream EVs have begun 10yrs ago and now they're selling like CRAZY

I said multiple times this is my opinion and POV on the hybrid purchases
My Lexus hybrid gets 40mpg average. Is quiet, performs well and is reliable. Won’t need to replace brakes for 100k miles

Very interesting

Very much so

Yes, I’ve heard very similar things. Thanks for commenting and sharing some insight

Pretty much haha
I agree, costs of maintenance are higher, and replacing it when it's not working anymore is so expensive
Yeah exactly. Obviously there’s tons of people that benefit from hybrid and EVs

Thansk tony

Pretty harsh since I’m just giving my opinion and perspective..
