CHAD of Adler Farms sent me over & I am excited to check out these cool HIGHLAND breed. (Congratulations to you & your new wife on your recent wedding)
Chad at Adler Farms said to come tell ya'll Howdy! This is my very first time to see a Highland! This little bottle baby is adorable! Sure that I am going to enjoy watching you folks raising these very cool cattle!
Hi, oooo sweet calf. and really nice to meet Anna too. Best of luck with him. Great job Lucy. Tysm for letting us watch you work with these incredible animals.
Really enjoying your website but especially excited about this little white baby bowl. I would buy a stuffed animal Fashioned after this calf...I haven't even looked into whether or not Highlander calves stuffed animals are even available but I'm going to a soon as I'm done here w/ your video. I have a live in grand children and I buy a lot of quality stuffed animals that are lifelike. This is a beautiful, gorgeous calf and the more I watch this video the more I want one. Even if he doesn't grow to the size it all other Highlanders generally do, he could do wonderful on a farm that wants a gentler hand tamed ball that the family could enjoy especially after he's been so used to You who is so wise about your life stock and how you treat them❣️❣️ Try not to worry too much because if he's a preemie he will latch on soon to mom. I think part of the complication is his own stability on his legs. I noticed that he is always wobbling as he gets close to mommy and he's not sure footed. She is frustrated with him but trying very hard to help him and love on him and they'll connect here soon. Maybe not give them an audience so much and set up a camera instead of being there because they're both anxious. But it's going to happen this week you wait and see.😊♥️❣️ I grew up on a dairy farm as well as a beef cattle, and I saw a lot of this on both my parents farm and my grandparents farm. I helped with a lot of bucket and bottles Calves that needed some temporary "aid "until they finally figured out how to nurse. I'm so excited about this beautiful calf and I'm sure I'm not alone in this. I'd offer a name but I know you're going to give it a better one because I love the names you have given the other animals. I like "Spirit" for him... because he seems to have a Lotta personality♥️♥️
With the right genetic you could put in the time to handle him for someone who wants to have a good mellow bull that is use to human interaction :) The colour makes him unique.
I am commenting after 2 months of the birth of your calf l. Hope he made it. Was there a problem with his sense of smell or his vision after being without the mother in the sun when she walked away from him?. I hope he made it
Looks like you have a Charlet Bull there. They are all white. We had one, my dad and I we had a farm down in Bandon, Oregon, a while back. Whiteface Hereford and black Angus.. What fun. One of our cows was calling and she died giving birth in the winter, she wasn't due yet, she was too early, she still had one more month too go. Because we were gone, getting a ton of hay.
Can you tie mom and help the baby get the teat in his mouth? We raised herefords and a couple of times had that problem, and that's what we did. After a couple of days the baby would be just fine finding it on his own. Happens sometimes when the mother is not as attentive as she should be to the baby when it's first born.
The mom was being patience with him..I would have tried to help him by guiding him to the teet and using my finger in his mouth to help guide him...I'm sure he would have found it by that method.those are a great breed of cattle...
Giving young calf colostrum at vets office, could you do that yourself to save a vet bill. My vet charges me S150.00 when I walk into their office. Just asking because that vet didn't do much. Probably a stupid question but I wondered. Thanks. Love your family including the gorgeous cows. I would take the white baby if he stayed that size..ha, ha..God Bless.
The problem is that the calf was facing your daughters when it was being fed by them. You should have had them on their hands and knees on a haystack feeding the calf, under their bellys.
This calf acts like he’s not bonded with his mother. What happened. No trailer. You separated him from his mother. Why doesn’t he and his mother remain together except when your not feeding him. You could raise him for sale as breeding stock if he grows up.
Bottle raised bull could be a goooood commodity. If he’s got the right makeup he’ll be a prime member of somebody’s farm
can the calf see alright? I know the mama is getting impatient, bless both their hearts
Gorgeous mama and beautiful baby. Sure hope he makes it!
I think Yeti would be the perfect name for him!
Thats a great name!
I'm 61 and remember feeding plane old milking cows caves .
Awe the highland calf is so cute and adorable, hopefully your vet can treat the calf
Precious baby.
All the best to the new calf. Thanks for sharing and good luck!!

Thats what we do as well.
Could he be blind or visually impaired since he is having trouble finding the utters?
1OMG what a beautiful baby! Love you guys! Keep posting! Love seeing these videos'!
AWE he’ so cute and beautiful, white! I pray he will figure out how and where to nurse from mama!
Your girls are learning the right way. This will teach them responsibilities and a good work ethic. ♥️
I would love to cuddle him. Love the highlands. Followed you here from Adler Farms. Happy Fall

People that have no life. Cute baby and great vid
He's so cute, of course he's a few months now since I'm just seeing this...
Howdy!!! Came over from Adler Farms 😁
OMG HE IS ADORABLE 💘🙏💗💜😍
Es un hermoso Chenchito ❤❤❤❤
What a white cutie 🤗 I would call him Wakan, which is american indian for sacred/white if I remember well 🌺
That’s a very cool name
Man it's insane how much Cody' s Lab and you are like twins 😂😂😂
You are such a good farmer!!! Beautiful calf!
Wow he a so beautiful ❤️
I think something is off on his vision.
Found you through Adler farms.
The mom was being patience with him..I would have tried to help him by guiding him to the teet and using my finger in his mouth to help guide him...I'm sure he would have found it by that method.those are a great breed of cattle...
Thought I'd throw out a few names that came to mind...Frost or Blizzard. He is ADORABLE!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Ya need a head stall, that way you can help them find the food. Or s squeeze gate.

This is December 2021 just found your channel did this baby make it please let me know I love highlands
Yes he did! Took him a little while to figure it out, but he is doing well. Almost 6 months old now
Ty for letting us know he made it.
Can he see ?
This is absolutely going to be a monumental achievement if this calf makes it to 4 months. Definitely spading this one. Lol
So cute...
Let us know what you decide to do with baby boy. I am sure someone wants him just the way he is. Love
How about “Cloud” for the new baby’s name?
Well help him
Omg, hope to pet our calf just like this
I'm just seeing this video in 2022, but am wondering if the calf was blind??
Since he must be a gift . Something like Luke .
Why can’t you help the calf find the utter??
Help guide him! Once he finds it, he won't forget where it is.
Rhett.... I named Heather's white bull calf "Angus". Connor and his ladies are loving this rain...
Ya the cool down and rain have been good for them, did you get all your hay put up?
@@100AcreWoodHighlands ...yup. Will cut again end of September
Sometimes you have to put them on a teet at first
Awe he is so precious is he for sale? What a beautiful colot 💙
Seems like you could put mom in a small pen so that you could safely help the baby nurse.
Ssooo 😍 😊 cute
Still a cutie even if you have to bottle feed him.
When he goes up to the dinner table can some one get the tip and just spray him a littelbit a may be he would get a hint
This is hillarious.
You going to have to show him, by taking him there yourself.
Name? "Cant get right"
Why didn't you take him to the udder and help him nurse.
Good question, that particular cow isn’t very tame and wasn’t going to be safe in the pen with her trying that
The problem is that the calf was facing your daughters when it was being fed by them. You should have had them on their hands and knees on a haystack feeding the calf, under their bellys.
I despise those who see these beautiful beings as food for humans.
Go for an opposite name...Brutus!
Striker( Lucky Strike isn't he )
Maybe he should be a keeper . All white he might be a blessing from the Lord for you .
*Why not help him, nurse?*
This calf acts like he’s not bonded with his mother. What happened. No trailer. You separated him from his mother. Why doesn’t he and his mother remain together except when your not feeding him. You could raise him for sale as breeding stock if he grows up.
😍🤩❤💗💕🐂🇪🇸
I'd name him Sugar Ray.
Buster or buxter
This kind of calf is definitely the kind of calf that's a sh*it eater lol
I'd seriously consider makin VEAL OUT THAT CALF.. IVE NEVER SEEN A CALF... WITH THIS ... LITTLE SENSE.
