Hans Dulfer is now at Hillegersberg Jazz for the 14th and tenth time. Now with a different formation with, in addition to bassist Eric Barkman and MC John Helder, guitarist Jerome Hol and DJ Eiertag. At 77, Dulfer may be elderly, but his music is anything but. The Dutch sax legend was once involved in free jazz and funk, speed and trash metal. Dulfer has been guaranteeing a swirling crossover of power bob and dance for years. In 1993, Dulfer achieved great success in Japan and Europe with 'Big Boy', a dance record with the hit single 'Streatbeats'. Successor 'Dig' also scored worldwide. Dance beats by Dj Kikke (Ruben van Roon) and driving bass work by Eric Barkman form a solid basis for the raps of John Helder and the sucking sax riffs of Dulfer Sr. Music to go wild to, year after year, Dulfer de Weissenbruchlaan almost carelessly moving. In addition to being a saxophonist, Dulfer (1940) was a car salesman, board member of the Bimhuis, columnist for Music Newspaper OOR and radio presenter. His columns were collected under the title Jazz in China (1980). In 1990 he was director of Paradiso. From 2001 to June 2007, Dulfer had a weekly Jazz program on BNR Nieuwsradio. In April 2006 he was the first to release his music on a USB stick. He shocked the established music world by applauding the downloading of his music: "Only the record companies make money from CDs. Not the musicians. So let everyone download and visit concerts, because that's where an artist can make money."
