I have lots of videos planned, but feel free to drop any topics you'd like to have covered. No promises, but if enough people are interested in something I'm more likely to make a video on it.
Thank you to everyone for sticking by during the tough times! 💪💪💪Should be back to normal upload schedule soon!
Hi Geoffrey do you have any plans of making some random videos about your life in China? It's a Fitness Channel sure, but hey some ppl are kinda curious.
Hi Geoffrey, hope that you have enough data on your experiment with direct ab training to present your findings? Maybe a video on your ab training methodology?
@@dickesbrot5724 I've considered it but will probably keep the channel fitness focused
@@jamesstramer5186 still gathering info, am learning a lot but don't want to make that video till I know a lot more. Training takes time!
@@GVS understandable, thanks for replying.
Those triceps are insane
True, his arms are insane wtf
He has 18 inch arms, I would imagine his triceps are good.
Best arms in the natty game and its not close
Agree
@@Wayf4rerNH is in the same league
So humble Geoffrey, pretty sure we can all concede you got down to -3%, give yourself some credit
Mad respect for going through this for the experience. You have a crazy dedication towards learning and becoming more knowledgeable. I am trying to keep an open mind as a lifter as well and not become dogmatic and coming out of my comfort zone and you are a great inspiration (even if tbh I really don't want to get shredded, it has no appeal for me, for now)
Hats off to him, but I just train to be athletic, but what's the point other than being shredded.
@@Skoopyghost Being big(not obese-tier) and strong
@@zikomo8913 I didn't say obese. Normal lean fit, not instragram lean. Like you're a professional handballer who plays in the Olympics. You said obese like you have a ED. I hope you don't.
Your smile looks so genuine and happy after recovering from that hard cut. Look at the footage later and see how happy you were in this video. After seeing it, I've realized I surely don't want a hard cut. Now time for the muscle gainz again, Geoff.
Just wanted to state, that I really do appreciate your content, sir.
i love how you said "my physique is no where near complete" as it shows that just because you have been training for a over a decade, you STILL have that drive to make progress and truly reach your genetic potential, which doesn't even seem like something that exists. makes me believe that bodybuilding can be a lifelong journey, even for naturals.
2:54 You pre-empted me asking for glute shots to determine BF /salute
With a tan, you'd be right up there. Really great job man, where you've just been is a very exclusive place.
13:12 bros were mad mirin your back!
😭 they were mesmerised
What I've found with the notion "some people can maintain x/y% but not me" is because people try to do to much to fast. Some years ago when I was 30%+ BF I dieted down to ~20% I was hungry all the time, I could not deal with being 20% and what I discovered is it was because my body was used to being 30%. It had grown acustom to it and I feel like this is a big reason why so many people end up putting the weight back on.
So what I did instead is I treated it like a cut and bulk. I would lose weight until I started finding it hard and then bulk back up but I'd go back up until I felt good and then cut down again. So 30% > 20% > 25% > 18% > 23% > 16% > 20% > 15% > 18% etc. This gradually taught my body to sustain itself at lower bodyfat %s. I now sit at around 12% with just as much, if not more energy than I once had at 30%. I'll dance between 12 & 15% just based on how I feel.
I honestly believe I could eventually make 8/9% feel ok as well (ofcourse there will be a limit) but I think for day to day 12% looks better than 8%. I can still see striations, I still have a 6 pack but I also look fuller and bigger. For me 12% is the best of both worlds.
Congratulations on your cut. Your effort and perseverance is highly commendable.
I hope this video reaches out to more people and makes them aware of the downsides of getting shredded, which are rarely talked about.
Most people have messed up fitness goals and your video will help them have realistic and sustainable expectations.
Absolutely insane. So striated.
The straining gym faces look even better on the cut! 😂
Ridiculous ***
Holy fuck man, you got super shredded 🔥🔥
Dang thank you for posting all this info.
Been waiting for this one!!
Awesome results - I love seeing your training vids!
Next level dedication !
Good to have you back Geoff
u look f'in insane bro ,insane cut. happy ur done with it and can be normal again!
Excellent job man .impressive af 👏
Thank you Geoffrey, this was really insightful!
Great video Geoffrey, as always.
Authentic content. Always appreciated. Thank you champion!
Very honest video - good job on this.
Big guy givin good advice ❤❤
Im starting my first real cut and this is inspiring. You look insane
Awesome video!! Thank you for sharing! Freaking great physique ! Motivational to achieve this one time in my life as well 👊
Awesome display of willpower 💪
Can't wait for that nutrition book to drop
Was waiting for this to come out any day now lol. I figured you had been quiet and i thought to myself, “man the cut must be getting rough😂”.
I can definitely feel everything your saying. I cut down from 200 to 164 and I can definitely relate!
I went from 230 to 165 and I also feel this
Welcome back
Welcome back Geoffrey we've missed that smile, and congratulations on making through getting shredded.
Your shoulders and arms are crazy impressive. Nice work!!
Thank you for sharing good job on the descipline and I really respect how real and sincere you are when sharing your experience💪
Got your book and doing the ravage program for a month now 💪🏻 appreciate your work. Looking forward to seeing your next Saga (le bulk)
Happy to see that you’re back GVS. With what you contribute to the community, your break was well deserved.
Your channel is about to blow up. The algo likes shredded. Congrats!
Very insightful video
Great channel. Love your idiosyncratic and experimental approach to training (still grounded in fundamental principles). Bringing us back some data from the edge! Have watched for over a year, but finally subscribed. Hope the mega-cut didn't cause any harm, and glad it is behind you. Admire the dedication and the physique has been constantly improving. 👍👍
Great testimony, we need more of these real 1st hand accounts in the natural community.
I just love the expressions he makes while training to failure.... At least i am not the only one making those.
Great work !!
Thank you for sharing your experience Geoffrey. It sounds painful for you at the end of this process. You’re body, especially arms, looked amazing!
Wow, Was smiling through most of the video clip. The story telling is getting to the next level.
Im really happy i found your channel completely by accident after going against maingaining. I tried it and I made no progress for nearly 6 months. A proper bulk and low in behold I started properly gaining size!
Thank you for your testimony, as a natural who would really love to compete in the future it was really useful!
Those triceps are from another dimension. Crazy cut bro, glad for you it's over.
G.O.A.T best fitness channel out there 100% respect @GVS
Used to go through similar but not as hard for mma to the point I quit and only train because weight cuts used to kill me, insane respect for anyone who does this regularly
First of all…CRAZY PHISIQUE🎉
This should inspire everybody to think without limits whilst being natural💪
Goeff since I found your content some months ago my lifting career changed drastically …no sandbagging…suffering through the concentrics (try to get one more)❤you revived my love for the Sport again
Never been at 12 percent that’s my goal. And than build back up. Can’t wait to watch the cut video
I’ve been binge watching all your vidoes 2 weeks ago and i’ve been waiting for a new video for a long time 😅
Caught me at a rough time, probably the only time in the last 3 years where I wasn't uploading frequently :)
I'll be making videos for the next 30+ years so taking a month off isn't too much of a concern.
NH's bulk expedition and GVS's cut report + their videos dropping at the same time is like yin and yang.
I’ve been on a 6 month cut as well and boy is it rough right now. Great work!
What’s your bodyfat percentage at?
In the midst of my summer cut now (5 weeks in) and my stepmom who doesn't see me everyday said "you look skinnier everytime I see you" lmao. I'm definitely starting to feel more beat up than usual already and I *might* be 12% BF right now (goal is 10%, may go a bit further after taking a break during my birthday in 4 weeks if I'm not too diet fatigued). I know I'll want to truly be "shredded" one day just to see what it looks like even if I also have no designs on competing.
You pretty much nailed what it feels like on contest prep. I would say I think you got leaner than 8%.
Welcome back bro!
Thanks dude!
Getting your ducks in a row - hunter's lining up a shot and taking out multiple birds at once.
🦆🦆🦆
Congrats to all of your achievements in training and in building your brand!
Not going to get shredded, but I'll watch anyway.
GVS looking even more freaky than usual my lord
nice finish dude
This video in conjunction with Alex’s post show Q&A should be a requirement for those who are looking to get shredded and stay natural. Thanks for the information, Geoff. This was very insightful.
Basically seems like being shredded for a natural is only worth it if you don't care anymore about getting more size. And getting contest prep ready is dumb as h3ll. Probably if best to be like 12 to 15 if you want to be leaner than most people without being miserable.
@@Madchris8828yeah this really opened my eyes. I've put on some solid size as a natural and am trying to cut down a little but I'm not gonna push it too far. Some fat is totally fine
@BrofUJu same here actually, just ended my last bulk because my stomach was a bit bloated looking (guessed about 22 percent bodyfat) now I'm probably at like 16 or 17 percent or something. I'm actually happy to not be eating 3500 to 4k calories anymore lol. That was a LOT of food
@@Madchris8828 lol I feel you. I was like 155 in my early 20s, early 30s now and got up to like 180-185 which is wild. Definitely could cut a bit but I'm also just like, a totally normal person level of lean but then with muscle which is fine with me. Feeling good more important
@BrofUJu man I started off super skinny fat, so my journey is a long one lol. I started off like 165 pounds like 30 percent bodyfat, and a total slob. I couldn't really do any form of cardio well, anything almost was an improvement from that sorry state. Including the borderline addiction to alcohol I had. I'd seriously guess my lean mass may have been like 100 pounds or something horrendous. I wasn't obese but I did look terrible lol
We appreciate the fuck out of your dedication to this experiment.
Amazing arms. Can you please share more about the diet aspect? How don't you track? What do you do exactly? How do you deal with immense hunger? SOO MANY QUESRIONS. Love this channel.
Dope! And very lit!
15:30 funniest bit you’ve had in a while lol. Not to say your other bits aren’t funny, the face on this one just got me.
Holy shit diced af. Id never want to go anywhere near stage lean myself but certainly a really cool example of what you can do.
On a cut myself rn and I had started to feel like a lizard in the cold already, but yesterday I also ate something bad and spent the evening throwing up and I didnt realize I had drank so much water, anyway, I've digested like a combined 1000kcal today and yesterday due to this. Lost 2-3 kilograms of fluids in a day. Not really related to anything but I feel like shit lol.
wow… that is pretty shredded.., thank you for the insight to the downsides
Literally worked your ass off!!!!!!
amazing bro
Started at 233 and with your help and a couple other UA-cam I'm down to 211 today!
Congrats!!
Good stuff homie keep up the weight loss
I'm at exactly 233 today lol goal is 200 good work dude!
@nakedsteak5877 hell yeah I'm trying to get down to 180 where I'll be Around 15 percent bodyfat
@camerondanchuk5558 I'm gna reassess where I'm at at 200 because I've never been under 215 in my adult life. Actually was damn near 300 pounds at one point and I'm not tall (5'10). I think its likely ill try to get lower given how much I still have to go visually but thats the big milestone - ill meet you there breh !
12:13 is so relatable lol
bro u definitely did get there look at the striations in your quads
Great video man. As always appreciate the honesty.
Hope you feel better soon as you gain the weight back.
This reminded me of my old triathlon days. For B and A races I would get down to 155. It was horrible. But lean and light is generally faster. My comfortable weight is 170ish with 180is in the winter off season. My wife always said I looked race ready once I looked like I had cancer. Yup it was that bad.
BTW, I am on week 11 of the Rampage program and really like it. Only wanting to lift 3/wk it is perfect for me. Thank you.
Thank you.
Awesome transformation 💪
What's next please? Bulking?
yep!
straight into my "fitness related" playlist
all your ducks in a row is a real saying and means u have everything in order/disciplined, u r not trippin GVS
Boys, he's back 😎
Great video! I can relate to this, I not once but twice got under 10% (shredded abs and glutes), and yeah life was a struggle!
I can relate to all the negatives!
Once I was even craving tomato at the end of my cut (this make me grow up every time) 😱.
That’s when I stopped the cut
Imagine doing another cut like this in like 5 years with like 5kg of muscle on top of what you have now ! Would be lNSANE man. Looking forward to it.
Bro what?..... thats not gonna happen naturally lol
@@Guts_Brando he keeps getting 1-2kg of muscle per year so why not ? Might be feasable. Or maybe 3-4kg. Would still be great bro !
@@Guts_Brando ofc it is. A kg of muscle per year isn't at all out of the question
It gets easier to cut everytime you do it for an extended period of time
@@alihasanaxe4936awg what natural lifter at gvs's level is making progress at a rate of 3-4kg per year of muscle
Insanely cool
First, the program you made for me Sir is great! Thank you again. Second, ducklings follow their mother basically in a straight line unless one is sick or injured
Finally gvs side glute
When NH and GVS upload within the same 30 mins🧠
One of the best natty bodybuilders of all time
Looking incredible Geoff, I am amazed at your progress throughout the years blowing away the idea of a natty limit.
Currently also chasing lifetime leanness goals. Currently around 10-11% at around 22 ffmi with a goal around 8-9%. I am trying a different approach through chained 42/66 hour water fasts with keto-ish refeeds, hoping to leverage the muscle sparing and hunger reducing effects of ketones. Afterwards Ill experiment to see weither monthly 42/66 hour fasts can serve as a mini cut to maintain leanness, while building muscle in a surplus the rest of the month.
To what extent do you feel 8-10% is maintainable for longer amounts of time, if that were your only goal? I figure some of the side effects of getting down so low come from the cutting, and might reduce/stop once you are able to eat good amounts of calories.
what the actual f^^^k! Dude you are probably in the top 5 natural of the world, it's insane
Beast!!!!
13:05 dude, your biceps insertions are crazy!
Damn your genetics just went from top 10% to top 1%
Awesome work. Curious to know what your thoughts on on aesthetics. I personally think anywhere between 10-12% body fat is most visually pleasing..
Im one year into My first bulk and thinking of going untill next spring then cutting to check my progress💪 but would not try to get this Lean. Mad dedication
Congrats on this crazy feat man. 🎉
Your arms and shoulders look amazing. But I have to say, I am otherwise not much into the shredded look. You do look sickly and famished at the end 😢
Your videos help me be comfortable making contorted, demented faces while at the gym. Cheers brother and keen for the bulk!
How was your hunger levels throughout the cut in general? Obviously below 10% bodyfat it starts getting perpetual, but how was it otherwise? Like when you were at 11-12% bodyfat for example. Btw, awesome video. Can't wait to see your diet video!
Coach I'd actually really like to see some of the agressive videos lmao
Achieve epic shreds before riding off into the perma-bulk sunset
Hell yeah brah
15:28 lol realizing what he just said. That face is priceless lmao
Your talk at the end about how as soon as you hit below 10% you could feel it is interesting because I have felt exactly how you describe even at 20+ % bodyfat while cutting. I think no matter what BF you are, if you're cutting hard enough for long enough you're going to get the same effects as if you are too lean. I know exactly how you feel when you say you can barely sleep and you really don't want to do anything but train, and again I have felt that at above 20 percent bodyfat after cutting for too long and too hard.
I’ve run into the same issue. I did a three month cut, and did lose some fat and felt like I kept most of the gains I had. But my sleep was horrible. And when I added in 150 calories to reverse diet it was night and day difference in my sleep
