I posted the new install Suzuki 200ATX vid on the Proline 27sport. Nice install, and he is correct about outrunning a storm. Been there, and faster is better!! My 200ATX fuel consumption is ridiculously low now, I rarely put gas in the boat. Less weight, but noticeably more power than the original 225s. 200ATXs are 4cyl, and DF300s are V6. There is a weight difference per the spec sheets. I always opt for less weight if I can. I was in fact surprised at the quiet, but they will roar, and I can still reach 50 KTs on calm water and with a boat that size, that's plenty fast. When there is any seas whatsoever, you can't go that fast anyway. Most fishing trips we are lucky to get to 20kts in the bigger water. I priced Yamahas, and they were $6K more per engine, so def not a consideration. I'm just a regular guy with job and all, and not burning someone elses money.
they are coming out with the 350hp this month. My bud is repowering his contender 27 with twin 350 Suzukis. He currently has twin 2015 Suzuki 300s. Rides amazing
What!!! Sign me up lol Yeah ours are 2015's too and they have been great!
How did that repower go for your buddy....
How are the engines performing now ? Any issues? How many hours?
that boat is sick
Thanks!
I just put 2 x new 300 Suzuki’s on my 27 ft Everglades. I am running 15 1/4 X 22 4 blades on mine turning out it tops out at 52 MPH at 6000 RPM. Have you tried 4 blades on your boat? Is so how did they preform.
We haven't tried 4 blades on ours yet but we are planning too once we can get a set to test.
Seems like every boat at the dock near the Marathon keys inlet is running quad 300 and 350's... One had the 425's. Guess 3 it's not enough, anymore gotta have 4!
What is the best fuel burn so far?
+Three Swords I think around 2.1 or 2.2 going in the low 30's. I'll try to get some more exact numbers next time we go out.
I just moved back to Jax after 2 years in AZ and can't tell you how happy I am to be back near the water again. Your vids have me drooling to get back on the water. My old 1974 19-6 Aquasport has a 1996 Johnson 150hp which I love, but is a bit more work than I'm willing to give it. Bout to re-power and would like your thoughts on the Suzukis and who'd you get it from.
I'll bet! Glad to have you back. I can imagine it would be tough being land locked for a while! We have been liking the Suzuki's so far. The only issue we have had is we had to replace two O2 sensors between the 2 imagines. We have a little over 300 hours on them so far and they were covered fully by the warranty. We still really like the engines. We got them from Southeastern marine in Douglas Georgia. They had some of the best prices we found. They are about 2 hours from Jax.
Reel Hazardous thanks for the info.
Jim Wellman Did you do it? I would like to know. I have a 2007 Suzuki DF140 and I love this engine and can’t recommend Suzuki enough.
How did you adjust the engine height? Did you buy a floor crane and do it yourself? did you use silicone or 3M 4200?
Hey Mark, we had a dealer adjust the height.
Did you have to replace your fuel tanks?
Yes we've replaced the center tank a couple years ago.
Thanks!
Who did you use for the repower and the tanks?
Do the prop come with motors.
No you have to get them separately.
What's your gas mileage?? Me and my dad are getting some 200 Suzuki installed. Everyone says they are the best out there
Depends on the day and load but I've seen anywhere from 1.8 to a little over 2 going around 32-33 mph. I've heard of several people putting on twin 200 Suzuki's and liking them.
I have 32 pursuit I'm looking to repower, I had Yamaha ttwin Yamaha 250s ,thinking of the Suzuki 300s any suggestions
Jeremy Major get Yamahas
@@peternguyen9602 Suzuki df 350s
What about manufacturers maximum horsepower rating/spec. Is it not 500HP? If so you may not be able to register the vessel or obtain insurance, and, risk blowing out the transom.
600 HP rating on the reel hazardous
HI AM FROM TRINIDAD ANDOBAGO BRO I GOT TWO 300HP BUT ONE HAS A NOCK HOW CAN YOU HELP ME...
What grade of fuel are you running?
What year is your contender?
+ALLEN ESTERGALL Its a 2000.

For a Suzuki, around 18k or so.
Reel Hazardous i found the 200 hp for that..... but i found the 300s for 27k
Wow. Where are you at? I saw a recent ad for them and they weren't near that high.
time for a repower , DF350A !
Yeah I was thinking about that! lol
Hey they just came out with 350s
Yamaha has a 425 V8
7 marine has a 627 hp supercharged V8 outboard
Tool
Is suzuki paying you for this video?
That boat do not run right with those engines They are to heavy period.
27 owners please don’t let this guy lead you to a big mistake the only 4 stroke suzuki for this boat is the four cylinders 200 hp.
if you want 300 hp the 4.2 v6 yamaha is lighter and with wedges and four blades propellers c@n get the job done.
Do not put the four cylinders 200 hp yamahas it is a weak engine.
Straight facts
Better yet, 300 v8 Mercury's
we have had these motors on for 4 years. No we are not getting paid by suzuki. I've had Yamahas and Evinrudes and these are by far the best. This boat is rated up to 600hp so it can and does handle them well
I disagree. We installed 250 G2 Evinrudes and have seen others repower with heavier engines. Sure I need some trim tabs here and there, but the boat is awesome, fast and fuel efficient.
How do y’all afford these fancy toys and keeping up with the Jones all the time ?
I think now a days you need at least 4 motors to keep up with the Jones lol. In all serious though if you want to be able to afford these things the first step is to be debt free and learn to budget. I would suggest checking out Dave Ramsey. Begin saving up for the boat you want. The next thing is to wait for good deals. We bought our boat used and pretty much all of our tackle was bought on Craigslist when good deals come up. Get what you need. No more no less. Don’t worry about the fancy things. Hope this helps!
This boat is over 20 years old too
