I do wonder whether there's someone counting the number of times, 'I don't recall, I don't remember', 'It was a long time ago' that phrase has been uttered in this enquiry? As for the hapless Jarnail Singh's testimony, if it wasn't so very serious, it would actually be funny. This is utterly embarrassing and an affront to the UK's highly regarded justice system. Jason Beer is outstanding; to come in to question Singh, when he was so very obviously unwell and to control his temper, was exemplary behaviour. Paula Vennells' testimony is going to be a very interesting watch. I do wonder whether she'll shame all those whom have gone before her and actually tell the truth?
I thought that she came across as very intelligent - and steeped in years of high-level civil service double-speak. Which leads to the conclusion that her seeming ignorance and haplessness is an act. She can't remember anything, but she can explain to you how the plain wording of an email she sent actually means the opposite of what she intended. A dangerous and deeply unpleasant individual.
very very nasty person. Do not turn your back on this one. Ultra byzantine. She would be extremely proud of all the adverse comments posted about her, I joke not.
Thank you; I think this lady is actually much sharper than many who have gone before; she will have been watching the dismal succession of POL people giving evidence and evaluated their varied attempts to avoid telling the truth - what an extraordinary choice! And she has come up with her own approach which generally seems to be to keep repeating “I’ll answer this in the abstract”. Well, that’s all right then.
I didnt read it I dont know why I didnt seee this I dont know why I can't remember if I had I would I think seeing this now I was the Chairperson but there was nothing here that got my attention and Im sure if I had seen this I would have asked questions if fact we all never knew anything and if we did we dont remember and My fingers are wringing the lies out as fast as I tell them and I just just dont well I do but its a long time ago and Im sure I would have done it differntly knowing what I know now even though I knew it then (australia)
It is one of the great myths of modern office life that anybody actually reads attachments. ‘Here’s a bunch of guff that i didn’t have time to read so i’ve sent it on to you to not read either’. I’d be more impressed with the witnesses if they flat out admitted that they didn’t open or read half the attachments sent to them rather than endlessly resorting to the ‘i don’t recall’ defence. It would explain why nothing got done by this band of incompetents.
I’m in New Zealand I find the whole thing unbelievable
Thanks for your input , yes it's staggering really .each witness I don't recall etc etc

Time will tell on that
Observing her performance so far I wonder if ‘telling the truth’ is likely. Perhaps she will refer it to van den bogart
