RvT Wargames channel is your source for in-depth BCS videos.

The designer notes mention that there was practically no unit transfers between Golan and Sinai during the war. Nothing keeps you from making house rules, though.

Units of the Israeli central command weren't commited to either front at the start of the war because it was covering a potential attack from Jordan. So in theory it could have gone north or south dont ask me where it actually ended up. I agree once deployed the war was to short for strategic redeployment. The main issue is the airforce which could have gone anywhere. I have adopted the free deployment special rule to reflect that. I could game that by being silly but I wont because the Israelies would never have left their forces without any air cover on either front.

Apparently this has happened to several people. I have asked for a replacement from MMP.

I held off buying this one. I'm going to be interested to see what you make of it. It has a bigger foot print than I had thought. A pity they messed up on collating the rules, very annoying.

They have sent me replacement rules. Yes its a big foot print but their are several shorter senarios and you can always play a single front.

What is the length of the Sinai section of the map? I think I can put two 4 foot tables together to get this on the tables and use a third table for Golan... Thx

Its five and a half feet 3 × 22 inch wide sheets. The other dimension is 34 inches tall.

I have the whole series. Haven't played this game yet, but curious of how the BCS handles with warfare of the 1973. Looking forward how your video series plays out. Like you said: "here we go, BCS".

Have you played BCS before, if so how did you learn to play it?

I have, and I'd add it's pretty much become my favourite game system. It took me a LONG time to learn and get used to this system. I learnt on Baptism by Fire. A much smaller game all round. I recommend watching 'the tabletops edge' play through of Last Blitzkrieg. There is also a good play through/instructional set of vids on Brazen chariots done by 'the wargamer'( I think that was his name) and also 'Chewie Matt' did a good play through of Baptism by Fire. Watching those will really help you. This system messes with all those preconceived ideas we have about how a wargame works, and gives a really good fresh approach. Stick with it,it's a gem I promise.

I'd also add that it took about 6 complete read throughs of the rules before my meager brain decided I could set a scenario up and begin to play😂

Easiest way to learn BCS is probably Vasal + VOIP with someone who knows how to play. There is an intimidation factor than comes from it being so different, but it's one of my two favorite systems. If playing this as a first experience with BCS, I'd suggest starting with the Golan. There's plenty to do there.

A bit of a kerfuffle with the game specific rulebook. Have you contacted MMP directly? I'd expect them to issue the replacement in a situation like this. As me and my friend keep saying we're in a really weird hobby with all the tinkering we usually need to get to get the games going🤣
BTW, if you need any games clipped feel free to send them across to me - I'm a "serial clipper" (find it very relaxing) and actually clip games for a friend as well 😁

I too had duplicate pages like you. A quick email to MMP and they sent out a replacement with an apology. Living in the UK it took a couple of weeks to arrive so I used the online pdf whilst waiting.

I'm really looking forward to more comparisons between this one and Bar Lev - recently been a bit more interested in the middle east conflicts due to the current situation out there.
