You guys are so lucky to have each other. Living in such a small space with another person is hard enough, let alone under adverse weather conditions. You two have a great relationship. Thanks for taking us along. Cheers!
Epic video boys. I absolutely love the honesty of you both, the content, the commentary and the filming. You show what can be done if you believe and just do it. Undoubtedly the best sailing channel on UA-cam. 👍
You guys are an inspiration. To think just a short while ago you were working in supermarkets and decided to sail around the UK. Halfway round decided lets keep going. You guys should be proud of what you have acheived. I bought a boat last year and started watching sailing videos. Yours is the channel that rings home most with me that even if you aren't loaded or have a business making money for you you can still do it. I too hope to do a UK circumnavigation in the next couple of years and am working on ways to give up work and go for it. Here's to the freedom that sailing can bring.
Thank you so much it's great to know we inspire people just like yourselves to live your dreams. We are very lucky to be on this incredible adventure. We didn't really want to go back to working in supermarkets after sailing around the UK 🤔😁. Wishing you the best of luck on your circumnavigation when you decide to do it. Live free 🙏
What a great video ! That was intense watching Atlas take on that weather, she looked after you both that night 🙏 and luv that t-shirt !! Swim drink fish lol I need one ! I'll be searching the Web for that later 😃
Phew !!!! after watching end to end non stop, I'm gonna have to have a lie down. you really were put through the wringer. A very good spot Luke, losing Neppy would have been a major blow. As for a fire aboard, don't even think about it. A close second is water gushing in. I just loved the storm Jib, and Adam, I agree with you by leading the sheet across the deck works for me. I often employ mine, unfortunately, it's dayglo orange, and many's the time other boats have approached asking if all's well. I have often laid in my bunk, my head against the hull, thinking "half an inch away from oblivion" real scary. There is no shame in admitting to fear, in stormy conditions, it's the motion and the NOISE and you can't escape it. I think you did the best thing by lying a'hull. Safety first. You both showed us just how far you have climbed the ladder of seafaring !!!! Thank you Bros, an epic episode. Kind Regards, Bernie SW Wales UK. 👍👍
Hey Bernie We watched this again the other day and it brought back so many memories happy and stressful. I don't know if we would have done anything different but we certainly have learned a lot more since then. The fire could have been avoided and also Neppy should have been checked a bit more regularly. Sometimes I lay in my bunk at night and think what if we run into something in the night that's unlit like a abandoned boat or shipping container 😱😵. We will be court out in some serious weather again it's only a matter of time Cheers Bern 😎🙏🙏⛵
A brilliant video lads. I have watched you every week since you started around Britain, but it was nice to see the whole passage to Bermuda in one episode. Stay Safe.
Can be quite tricky when planning around weather on route and where the boat is likely to be in respect of the forcasted weather. Epic, Thanks for sharing 👍
@@TheSailingBrothers I don’t really look at thumbnails to be honest I just watch the channels I like because of their stories and personalities and the sailing . Nice to see a full length documentary, a bit different but still very entertaining. Yes it can get scary out there but you soon forget the worst bits when either the sun comes out or a pod of dolphins turns up!
Luke with the red light up his nose, looks like the friendliest demon ever :D What a passage, weirdly I remembered so much of it from the episodes back then. Potentially due to the impressive sailing, Atlas's strength and your ability to teamwork! Buhk should really sponsor you for that long test ;)
I think Luke would make a friendly demon 🤣🤣. It was quite the passage down to Bermuda we were very nervous of this one and it lived up to its reputation. So glad we did it in a classic heavy displacement boat ⛵
Just moved to the Yarmouth NS area and my boat is clearing customs as we speak. The weather window is serious this time of year! Waited out Franklin and then found a window where the crew basically motored from Cape Cod to Yarmouth, NS. A storm named "Lee" is now on the radar but at least she's home. It'd be great to see you if you ever make it back this way!
That's where we checked into Nova Scotia 🤘 the weather plays a key part in your part of the world 🌍. We have been watching storm Lee it looks like a very dangerous one please take care! Hoping to come back and visit one day
@@TheSailingBrothers We purchased a 1971 41' Center Cockpit Island Trader/Transworld sight unseen during Covid- we were in northern Ontario and the boat was in the US. After 2 years we just TODAY brought her into Canada via Yarmouth (hubby did it, I was at home)- the fog was insane. We are actively watching Lee as some say she is gonna be coming ashore where we are- looking to move and tie her down! So we have to take care of a new to us boat and a new to us home. Eep! This is a first for us as we just moved here, as is ocean sailing! We would absolutely love to host you if you ever come this way again, sorry we missed you this time! Next time for sure, I'll take you around the province in my car if you'd like! Help you get y our provisioning done and that sort of thing! Loving your channel, you're brilliant!

Excellent video as ever and a great tale to tell guys! We did meet briefly when you were at Rudders Yard in Pembrokeshire [I had the blue Nicholson 32 opposite you]. I'm looking forward to getting out there next year and I wonder what you do regarding insurance for offshore and foreign parts? All the best.
Hey Jeremy We do remember you and your blue Nicholson 32. One of the guys in the yard was carrying out some fiberglassing work on her. We don't have any insurance couldn't get it. The boat is too old, the survey is too old and couldn't get to cover for the areas we wanted to sail
My dream is to one day to be as brave as u lads am going to start with round the UK first in my little westerly cirrus 22 In hope of one day getting a bigger boat and to be as brave as u to lads and do it see the world ❤
Thank you for the kind words. Most sailing conditions are fantastic however this passage is known for rough dangerous weather. We say go for it. Start with sailing around Britain and then you'll have the confidence to move further a field Let us know how you get on. You only live once make your dreams come true
I guess that's what to expect when sailing in the Bermuda Triangle!😂😢 Does that self-steering head have a locknut? From what I could see I doubt if the pin is long enough for a second nut so it's probably better to change it as well. I want to ask you for your thoughts on wire safety lines vs stainless steel tube? Is cost the deciding factor in making the choice? I admit that my preference is for tubing esp when children are involved!
Intereating!!! I was thinking to do something very simillar in april/may. The ovetall plan is to stay close to the shore ( 50 milles) cross the gulf stream nearl the border North-South Carolina and go south to Bahamas. Any recomendantion? C
Always safer to stay along the coast you can take refuge if you have bad weather or use the inland waterway. We had no choice but to go offshore because our visa had run out
So glad to see that Atlas has bulwarks! Regretably, they seem to have been deleted from many modern production boats to be replaced by those silly little caprails!🙄☹️
Love these long episodes putting the voyage together, puts the trip in perspective. Thank You for making them for us!
