🌊 Life is lately like that fancy motion picture trick when the zoom pulls the center of attention close while the background recedes away. I don’t know how that’s done, but that’s what’s happening with my life now. Japan pulls close while America simultaneously recedes away-all at the same time. This change causes strange things to happen, like I’m eager and easy to speak my mind freely on all subjects, I’m more ready to say yes to anything good, I care next to nothing about what isn’t very important, and I’ve become fiercely relentless about things important, like my job.
I told Yumiko yesterday that it’s a real waste for me to retire from work now, as I’m suddenly filled with energy confidence and drive to lead my projects to succeed. And I no longer doubt my ability to do so. It’s because I have nothing to lose. If I fail due to incompetence then I get fired. And that’s a good thing if I am revealed to be truly incompetent. They should fire me then! But if I’m right in my confidence to lead, and if we then succeed, then everyone is better off. So I might as well take the “risk” of doing my best until the bitter end-as if I could possibly do otherwise…
So yeah, this current life is receding while my new life simultaneously arrives. It’s a trick of life, a fancy optical illusion of decision, resolve, time and a keen sense of mortality. And boy, it sure is fun! ☀️ (KB)
