The whole project is inspirational, the wedge block clamping is simple and excellent idea. I need to do this for my next project, great content. Keep bringing joy to the internet. Even after 4 years of posting this video it continues to help others.
Yeah... I love how you show the struggle of working alone, only you have shown how to use smarts and leverage to your advantage. Your work is an inspiration. I hope more find your channel and your dream can grow!
You definitely needed a proper workshop. So this was a great project. After the workshop is finished, you can start working on building up your collection of tools for it. One way to do that is to make use of your restoration skills to fix up old tools and equipment. You will be able to do a lot more with your budget that way. As for new equipment, a sand blaster has to be high on that list. And giving yourself the ability to do powder coating would be next. Almost all of the restorers on UA-cam have both of those capabilities. But not all of them started out that way. They built up their collection of tools as they went along.
Thanks Terry! Ya, my plan is to have a workshop with my collection of restored tools.. based on the budget I have.. and while restoring tools and DIY-ing the workshop, I gain more and more experience 😊 stay with me along the journey..
I’m new here and have to say .you did a great job by your self big 👍 already can’t what to see your next video keep them coming. Michael Toronto Canada
u inspired me so much tq, I also quit my job and just started to focus my own small woodworking job , rather than super tight schedule & mindbreaking as landscape architect..Thanks again idol, i wish u gudluck on what u doing.😊✌️.
Wow! Fantastic workspace and use of re-used materials! I wish I had those sort of woodworking skills! Congratulations on going in your own new direction! I plan to do the same next year and have already given notice that I'll be retiring early to do the same. My favorite part of the video is when you used your restored hammers. I always get so much joy from using my restored tools on new projects! Cheers from Theo Burn / theos-resto !
Thanks Ted! You're Theo Burn? I like the work that you shared on the resto group! I can feel your passion and love in those 😊 Glad to hear that you'll be starting a new adventure! And yes, it's so satisfying to restore tools and use them again! I wish you all the best in your projects and keep us posted with your fantastic work!
For me (personally), the most enjoyable aspect of your work is the calculation of design and the patience of its execution. One question: were you inspired by a family member (maybe a grandfather) who showed you how craftsmanship and perseverance are an integral part of your culture and really represent who you want to be? Best wishes and stay healthy.
Hi, thanks for the wishes! No, I was not inspired by grandfather nor family.. none of them are interested in all these, it's all lowly labour work for them.. haha like most of the people, they will just throw away scrap item and buy a new one to replace.. What really triggered me is a survival incident that I have gone through, I survived from an offshore blowout incident (I'm an offshore engineer).. thereafter, my point of view changes a lot.. value of an item, value of life...etc.. so I decided to record what I did and in the hope of inspiring others as well 😊
Great work!!! I can see the passion in your eyes working on the wood works. The garage workshop is looking good at the moment. Waiting for part 2 to see what's coming. Don't put too much stress with those liftings. Keep up the good work. Your videos are getting more creative and exciting!!!
Thanks my friend for the support since the very beginning of my journey here! 😊 stay tuned for part 2. However, I might continue with some resto projects before the part 2, there will be more exciting projects coming up!
Brilliant design and execution of the building process! How long did the building part take? I can't wait to see the next part to this series. Keep up the fantastic work.
Thanks! The project took me almost 2 months from designing to building.. and sourcing for material took a long time and I'm not familiar where to get the material. 😊
You are an inspiration to my wife.
Please upload more videos.
Greetings from Portugal.
