Dewalt- 1st place for the Worst Lawn Mower of the year

- The Dewalt flexvolt Lawn mower Loses on both Torque & Run time. For a push mower its weak-struggling with 4" dewed Grass. On top of that we got 3 1/2 paths into our lawn and the previously full batteries were completely discharged. You've got to see this one to believe it. And if you still want to buy it-well here you go.... amzn.to/2NaIN4L

Seriously? The grass is wet, it's 4" deep and you're mowing with an electric mower without a side discharge. I had a gas mower that wouldn't do that before..... put a chute on it, raise it up an inch and mow on...!
too complex for them...
Yea, you have to be smarter than the grass....
Just watching the intro, I know they didn’t know what they were doing!!
SuperDave21 I have a 7.25 ft lbs mower, it's brand new... Tons of power and it will not mow this grass on mulch mode... I've used other mowers with more power that won't cut this without issues. I actually know a guy with this mower... Had it a few weeks, and guess what he really likes it. Has a smaller yard though, and it cuts the grass but he doesn't cut grass this tall when it's soaking wet either. Can't expect lawn tractor power in a push
SuperDave21 dam I just had the same comment. You don't mulch wet grass. This would be a yuppie lawnmower.
I don’t understand why people are using/testing this lawn mower on a huge properties. Then they want to say, you spend $400 on the mower and another $250 on the flexvolt batteries. Dude, if you invested on flexvolt batteries BEFORE you purchased the mower, then there was no reason for you to stay that statement. Bottom line, the dewalt lawn mower is NOT meant to be used on the kind of land you guys shot this video.
Ya, this is a poorly constructed review by a bunch of boomers who don't understand electric motors and amperage. I'm an electrician, this is a real no brainer for me, no way is this going to mow anything close to that size in a full charge of two 5Ah batteries, but also these clowns are pushing it at a brisk pace through very wet grass and calling it "the worst mower of [2018]", when we all know that there are plenty of other battery powered mowers that wouldn't cut this grass at all. The estimated maximum run time in optimal conditions, i.e. dry grass on a cooler day, is only 25 minutes with a full 10Ah of combined energy storage. I have no doubt that it would power through at least half that lawn, while wet, with two 15.0Ah 20v/60v flex batteries.
I did learn one useful thing, this mower itself doesn't have very good clipping ejection when the rear door is closed.
Also, as a motorcycle enthusiast, I find it incredibly asinine that they left grass clippings in the road, considering they can easily cause a fatal crash.
I don't doubt that there are battery capacity issues....but trying to cut in mulching mode in deep wet grass like that is a bit severe....just sayin....
Yeah- but a gas powered mower could handle it.
Maybe.
Zack Young most people don’t use a regular drill in masonry they usually use a hammer drill and they don’t use it all day either. I agree that the mower is junk because you can do a lot more with a cheaper gas model than an electric
Maybe a gas mower could but it would be at capacity and putting more than necessary strain on the motor. I wouldn't do this with my HRX Honda mower because I care about it and I'm not an idiot. As someone who used to work at a power tool dealer for Professionals / Contractors I don't even really like a fair bit of Dewalts products but your test here was just plain unfair and asking way too much of that Dewalt. That grass was wet, far to tall and combined with your pace was just plain unreasonable. If anything I would like to see this Dewalt tested next to some other brands like EGO, Stihl and Green Works in *reasonable* conditions.
Same here, I remember my mower getting clogged up on morning dew thick grass (gas mower), as well. I'd stop and try to shake the clumped up clippings lose often. I just stopped cutting when it's so dewy out.
This review is a bit unfair. You're mowing what appears to be half the grass height that's wet with full width passes and no discharge at a fast pace. C'mon. Obviously it's going to have less power than a gas mower, but even gas mowers are gonna be feelin' it in those conditions. Same with starting it up. You probably won't start a gas pull-cord mower when it's in tall grass without raisin' the front up either. Try again by mowing only a third of the grass blade when it's dry and a 3/4 width pass and see what happens. No I don't have or have used this mower, but this is a very poor review.
DEmersonJMFM facepalm
What are you supposed to do mow every day so it works. Most people now when it gets to that height.
Electric anything should have more torque than any gas engine. The dewalt electric chainsaw is also a steaming turd
Grass height/type determines how often you should mow, regardless. Bermuda that's kept very short is usually cut more often than St. Augustine that's kept tall. The mower is irrelevant.
These are like electric mowers; they do not perform like gasoline engine ones. You can't mow grass at the same height as a gas mower. You shouldn't even try it when the grass is wet, it bogs down due to the increased resistance caused by the water. The poor run time of the batteries is explained by the height of the grass and the dampness. All grass is damp near the soil to a certain extent. I have used an electric mower for years. In the spring and during mild summers I have to mow every 3-5 days. If I don't, I butcher the cut and it clogs under the deck. You can't expect to use one of these and have it perform like a gas mower. No way. The benefits of battery power and lower weight are offset by accepting the limitations of the system.
lol my 4hp wouldn't single pass that , even a 6hp wouldnt be loving life , next video should be " this Miata wont even tow my tractor"
☠️☠️☠️
I know right
He doesn’t know how to mow
LOOOOL
who buys an electric mower for 2 acres
I've seen it. Know a guy who used to try and mow near that much, with a corded mower.
It was ridiculous, and he'd inevitably run over the cord, so his lawn would look like it had mange, til he got another long-ass cord from Harbor Freight.
He was doing a review on it and how much grass it can cut on the batteries (run time) , obvi he has one of those that you sit on and everyone else with that many acres.... I lived in Croatia and we cut about 2-3 acres of grass with scythes lol
I know right
my ego duel battery unit can do 2acres with 1 battery swap.
Who buys an electric mower. LMAO
As a gardener i'll recommend you to try this machine in dry lawn and it will work perfectly and set the height to maximum 2" not 5" . As an expert in lawn mowing on football field.
I bought this machine yesterday. Worked for 3 minutes yesterday afternoon, and 7 minutes today. Now it won't start at all. quality stuff right there.
Ive owned one since it first came out in the UK and absolutley love it. I always use it with the grass catcher though. It had no trouble what so ever going through 6 inch dry grass.
I have one of these and I've never had any issues with it stopping like that, even in really tall grass (but our grass isn't as thick as their looks). It works great for our small yard. The two 20v 5 AH batteries are just enough to do our yard of about 1000 sf.
Thanks for sharing!
A good gas powered mulching mower would also have a hard time mowing that thick wet grass. It also wouldn’t be able to start in the grass without lifting it up.
depends who's starting it and weather the brand is HONDA or not😁
My old Honda gcv160 is way better then this
I bought this mower based on the comments from this video.
Right tool for the right job. I really like mine for my 2500 square feet lawn. I don't have to pull my guts out with the rope and very low maintenance. No gas No oil No hard starts. Mow my whole yard on one charge once a week. My hats off to DeWalt. Thanks!!
Just about ready to buy one, not sure now. I have a ton of dewalt 20v tools and batteries so I really wanted this one.
Get a grip man, pulling your guts out? Use non ethanol fuel and put stabil in the gas, one pull always.
would love to know your opinion of the mower now, 5 years later!
I have gone through 2 in less than 2 years (first one was replaced, woudn't buy another!) and replacement is now in the shop. would love to be refunded my $650 CAD and be done with dewalt, but wayyyy easier said than done
I had to stop watching this as some others have. This was a very stupid test for any electric mower. For one, who mows their lawn at 6am while the grass is that wet. You guys had way to many beers. Makes me wonder about any of your other tool tests as to whether you were fair to the tool or just wanted to bash on it. Anyhow, thanks for wasting my time..
Lol
i mow lawns a 6 am of course my exmark mower cost $17,000.00
i could not watch either
Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.
Tools in action...haha they are tools in action
Wet grass, mulching, cutting near 1/2 the length of the blade off and walking at that pace?! I think it did really well. The grass is nearly twice its own weight when wet too. I don't think even a gas mower would handle those conditions without issue.
5 minutes in and he still hasn’t started the video related to the title.
you keep emphasizing on 3 and 1/2 swipes... those 3 and 1/2 swipes is equal to my whole yard they were huge
I too have a ton of DeWalt cordless tools, including a 40V weed trimmer and I love it, but it’s doing a much different job than mowing a lawn. My 7.25hp Briggs & Stratton powered Toro sometimes bogs down when my grass gets a little high, so I’m not surprised that a mower with 2 - 20V batteries doesn’t have enough balls to cut what you were cutting. I wish all mowers had that one touch height adjustment. The DeWalt weed trimmer has the best line loading system I’ve ever seen.
My crew run these mowers, we have 4 of them. After each yard we just charge them up for an hour and get some rest in between yards. We’re killing it out there
Honestly that battery life looks fine for any domestic lawn. Which IMO is its target market. That guy had a football pitch...
(Noted you did make this point in the video)
I actually love the mower. It’s not what I would buy for a lawn that was more than maybe an 1/8 acre. Great small residential mower for say a duplex. The 5ah batteries that come with it need to be used till dead and recharged maybe 3 or 4 times to get the most run time from them. Fortunately for me I have oodles of dewalt equipment including 9ah batteries. 2 9ah batteries in this mower will way more than mow my lawn. No gas folds up nice. Bad is that the blade sucks, I replaced it with a good mulch blade and it works way better. The kid can even mow with it, nice and light pushes easily super light. I am 6’3” and the handle is perfect, the kid is 5’ ish and the lower settings are great for her. My conclusion great mower for small yard especially if you don’t want to store gas.
Thx for sharing! It works well for my home (I also have a ton of Dewalt batteries and tools) since I have a smaller lawn and flex volt batteries but I also keep my grass a bit longer and I swap batteries a couple times :)
So how is your run time with the flexvolt batteries?
Haha funny review guys. Already subbed to both. tools in action is a great channel.
Put glasses on the fox and you're twins.
Stan with that big beard, your looking very similar to the fox! =)
LOL- We are both silver!
LOL!
matter of fact he does . him me and the fox lol
I had the Dewalt 40 volt , it started up just fine in tall grass and ran for a decent amount of time but the battery would overheat and would take a long time to cool down for you to charge it.
The flex battery's make a huge difference. i love mine. i never have problems with the torque/dying. i can mow with the flex battery's for about 45min to 1 hour. my mower came with the flex batters also.
Common knowledge ... you never want to mow too low.... cutting more than 1/3 of the blade of grass is hard on the the health of the lawn. Not really a fair test. Wet taller grass .... and you had the mower set too low.
I would never buy one, because I like the power of a gasoline engine powered mower, but this test was rather flawed. You even guessed on the price of the batteries.
When Dewalt caters to the homeowner... Beware... reputation will suffer.
I expected it to me a homeowner grade machine-but just not that bad.
Blake C same thing with Echo
wou
“Are you in tall grass?” 😂😂😂 nooo
There’s more grass on those strips then In the front and back of my house 😂😂😂
I agree for $400 I'm buying Honda. They have been nothing but reliable for me.
Same here
i thought u could not scerw up a push mower but i gess i was roung
No substitute for a good old gasoline Honda!
After having a Honda that surged no matter what, and one that just flat out refused to start when warm I'm good, I'll take a Briggs or Kohler.
Rufus LC 9000rpm
I love my residential Honda mower. Best in the market as mowers go.
I love Honda without a doubt
i love briggs but Honda is awesome too when it comes to power equipment :)
Best mowers ever. They have their flaws (rear wheels locking up issue) but they are minor. Honda mowers are a great choice for homeowner and residential. Leave it to the Automobile makers to give you a quality product.
Honda makes great mowers, but be sure to ALWAYS treat the fuel, because the carbs are really finicky!
Same , 1st pull since day 1
That's awesome u hang with Tools in Action!
Those guys are great buds. Truly awesome people.
I purchased a bunch of DeWalt tools in 2020. I’m happy with them and decided to purchase their electric mower Spring 2021. The mower worked fine with my small lawn. No issues with run time or start up. A couple months ago, I noticed my mower would not last longer than five minutes with fully charged batteries. Even swapping out the batteries proved to be useless. I do not recommend electric mowers and will buy a gas mower in the future.
My other battery powered mowers have no issues.
It doesn’t have an exit hole for the grass
It has a bagger
Not, or shouldn't be, a problem. No discharge just means it mulches it.
They should have a bag on it. That would make a big difference
Josh the mulching I think was bogging down the blade and it should have a discharge with a mulch option because some people don’t like mulch and I think it was a little wet in the video
It has three options. You can attach the bagger to the rear, leave the bag off and it discharges out the back, or you close the back and it mulches. Trying to mulch tall damp grass is stupid and bagging wet grass is hopeless.
Look like it was working really good to me. You were just over working the hell out of it
My cousin is an engineer for Milwaukee tool and he has brought home a lot of the prototypes of all the new stuff they come out with and the lawnmower seems pretty good. Hope to see that soon on here
I saw the mower and persons probably the best one on the market compares to the Honda electric
I will say from my experience of the ryobi battery powered mower, the kill button attached the handle when you fold the handle in the upright position, gets loose from the vibrations. Because of this, it has a tendency to shut off when the lawn mower jiggles. I constantly have to tighten it but what I ended up doing was placing tape over the button to hold it into place and the problem stopped completely. I can mow foot tall grass with no problem ls or wet grass even though I try not to. I mention this because I would imagine dewalt has something similar
From what I've seen on other reviews, it's not that they fully discharge in that short of a time, it's that they enter thermal shutdown due to the discharge rate required for the big draw of the mower? Either way, not good at all.
Yeah-I figured thermal shutdown-but either way I wasn't mowing
The grass is too wet, and too tall to mulch. Even a mower with a 206 CC engine couldn't do that. If you use a grass catcher, or even a side discharge, so the grass doesn't ball up between the top of the blade and the deck, the motor wouldn't stall. Another thing to try, is set the height higher. It's not good for a lawn to take off any more than 1/3 of the length in a single mow anyway. If the mower wasn't being over crowded, it would work just fine, and the battery might just get you half that area before needing to be charged.
Kobalt 80v mower I got one for my dad he loved it so much I got one love it and we both have large yards instead of stoping to put gas just change batt out much easier and with high grass never had it cut out great produce
Would like to see this test again on dry grass with the bigger batteries and not quite so tall of grass. A gas mower wouldn't power through that stuff you're powering through at 20:00. Also 1 of those stripes cut is like 4 of a suburbia lawn.
My thoughts too - they're going through quite tall grass, which is clearly wet and acting all surprised that it's choking up and not performing... I've never faced this with my one, but then again I don't abuse it with wet grass...
Oh boy lol someone took the title you’re saying.
Yep- this one takes the cake
Brian's Lawn Maintenance hi Brian
I'm subbed to you
Brian's Lawn Maintenance is that a mower you May want?? Lol!
Brian's Lawn Maintenance it is literally your stand on mower
Nope lol
Crossover episode! Yes!
Thanks Andrew- Check out Tools in action- I'm on their channel!
Watching "The Power of EGO" right now. I have the old version of that DeWalt mower (the Black and Decker 40v, comes from the same factory in China) and the battery is ok, but my lawn isn't anywhere near that thick. I still go back to my gas mower if it's wet or I let it go too long.
Man, how that mower runs is the same way army radio works. Yeah it says it has power but that's until you try to talk to someone.lol
I thought that lawn mower did very well for electric battery mower. That mower was put under very heavy load and it did well! Even you guys said 1/2 blade cut . Ben mowing 40 years now. would like to try that mower with rear bag on and cutting 1/2 blade. anyways great job showing the mower.
The worst lawn mower is the Husqvarna stand on
This beat it.
This is a screwed-up video oh, they're making it fail. Use the right tool for the right job. You should know better. Makes me wonder about any other tests as you say, this mows my front yard and backyard very well. I don't let my grass get tall and it's dry when I do it. I have 6 Acres up North that I do not use this , I use my riding lawn mower. It would be unfair to think that this lawn mower to do that job
I should also mention that I had the latest Ryobi 40 volt mower. It also did a good job of mowing my lawn. The battery is large and average run time was 40 minutes.I had read mixed reviews when I bought it so I was skeptical.Mine started to fall apart after 4 or 5 times of use.Nuts came loose and it started to wooble so I returned it.
I did buy the brushless 40 volt blower,it's the larger model blower with a turbo button.Very good blower and I am happy with it.
Recently bought the 20V with the 5.0MaH weed trimmer. I really like it and works for doing around the house. Cant do more then one house as I get 20 minutes run time.
Not really a fair test in wet Grass
Default
lol same
I love DeWalt hand tools, but they should quit trying to go into the lawn care area.
I own the Kobalt 80volt line of lawn tools and have no complaints. Light Weight, quiet, no oil or gas to go bad and enough run time to cut my 50 x 150 yard on one battery at normal height. Batteries charge fast, you’ll be able to cut continuously on the two batteries or three for sure if you wait until you grass is really high.
Same problem with the dewalt dcf620 drywall cordless drywall gun shuts off when locked trigger in place under heavy torque
I couldn't even watch long enough to see why the DeWalt is so wrong, have the camera guy put the cam on a tripod or cut back on the coffee. I'm out.
Gas! Gas! Gas! Never lets you down, powerful enough, runs as long as there is gas. Sick of people saying well gas smells, it's nasty, it's this and that. No it's still the best form of tool ever!
Gas still beats battery on a lot of fronts
The thing is gas mowers are 5% the pollution nation world wide, if they add a Catilatic converter to there mowers then the emissions will reduce to 40%.
my gas mower would probably fail doing that yard at some point.
It does smell bad and it's really bad for air quality. My old gas mower and snow blower failed me plenty of times starting up; my Kobalt mower and big sleigh shovel have never let me down. Best form of tool? Well I've watched my neighbors and their big, expensive, smelly and noisy snow blowers fault to clear their drives any fast (often much slower) than I do with my 80 dollar sleigh shovel. Tool is only as good as the person using it.
Kyle Winconek I agree gas is way better!
The cover over the batteries probably a design flaw that traps the heat causing early battery failure. Can the top be removed and if so are the batteries still hot to the touch?
I Have that .25 acre lot and picked up the Lowes Kolbalt branded 40v Mower and weed whip. Serves me well just as you say. And neighbors don't say anything about early am work. Damn quiet. My other battery tools for home and work are DeWalt and Milwaukee. Saving money on extension cords ;-)
I'm guessing DeWalt outsourced the R&D and production of this to some other company and just slapped the Dewalt name on it. Heck of a way to ruin your brand.
Its been in development for over a year. Theyve had time to make it right.
"In the real world" rolling lmao
LOL
what about this thing vs the ryobi one that comes with a car battery?
I use one of these for my smaller residential jobs, works fine, a couple of 9ah batteries is enough for 3 jobs, it has limitations, deep wet grass being one of them but its light, cuts well and is just so easy to use, 2 seasons use and no problems, using it for around 15 jobs a week
Thanks for sharing your experience with it and thanks for viewing Rick !
If you want to go environmentaly friendly just get a reel mower. Batteries are not environmentaly friendly
Yep A good reel mower is a good way to go.
Preston Faust not as much as you think go look into what is required to build them. It's false economy.
Preston Faust that I have no doubt. It's just not good for the environment. A reel mower is and you get some exercise too. Win win.
Cadium more toxic than petrol
I think there should be cordless reel mowers on the market. That would be the best cordless as power would be most irrelevant. The torque in an electric should be abundant and there are much better cordless mowers than this. You should try the new Husqvarna
Wow, pretty crazy! Thanks for the honest review
What was honest about this review, what mower did they compare it to? most electric mowers would have done the same thing under the same conditions. The reason people go electric is so that they dont have to change oil and gas for storing mowers over the winter. This mower is for people that have smaller lawns and dont feel like changing oil and gas. IF anything this review is actually very dishonest, because people with small lawns after watching a video like this would be more inclined to just pay a lawn company to come in and do it for them, (which is what this guy does). So obviously it would benefit ANY lawn care company to talk trash on any small home care solution the homeowner would use, including this, which could be for all we know the best electric mower in its class, which we dont know from this review, since they failed to make a good comparison. The only reason theyre up at 6am is to stuff this mower up. Are you planning on climbing out of bed at 6am just to stuff your mower up? Because if so, youre going to be paying a lot more for a mower that can do that grass at that pace while wet and up to 6 inches long.
Most people don't cut tall soaking wet grass, and try to mulch it.
Come on,,,i hate dewalt..but that was wet grass and he was trying to cut it down 3 inches in one pass. This guys is a real idiot.
One of the guys pointed it out later in the video, that they were cutting it way to short. The one guy sort of blew it off, he replied to a comment and said a gas mower can do it. Trying to cut 2-3 inches of wet grass, and mulching on top of that. Would bog down even a cheapish gas mower.
I will say this at the price point, you are still far better of getting a nice gas mower.
Love the honesty, had found TiA before I found this channel. Biggest thing that caught my attention were the IR stickers, do you work with them or just happen to have some equipment they had? Love seeing someone local doing these types of videos-
I have a 1998 Craftsman 21 inch cut push mower it's not spring assist but the the handle is similar it's adjustable
Just stick to drills dewalt
Their tool line up is top notch
Fossil fuels motors still rule when cutting grass!
True!
mhm! or convert it to propane like the fiskars weedwhacker.
Ego challenge. They are the future in electric mowers.
Just not ready for prime time quite yet.
Ego…I speak from 2 years of mowing an acre of wild grass
I bought this mower and don’t have these issues but I also mow the grass at a proper height and when it’s not wet. I agree, the downfall is the run time but I can work around that with an extra set of batteries and two chargers.
May I suggest a 16 pound Ford tool , just 1/2 swing complete fix lol
I will put this mower in the figure four leg lock.
LOL Thats hilarious!
Normally I would place my bet on the mower to win but this one can’t even start with a few inches of grass under it so it should tap out in record time.
I can cut grass faster with my 48 inch bobcat walk behind.
Yeah- I would have to agree on that.
Have you tried pull starting a mower in the grass? It’s really hard
I have a question for you. I turned the back yard into raised garden beds 20" x 13 feet with about 24 inches between rows. it is very tiring to use our 21" self propelled Honda mower around those obstacles, plus I have a bad shoulder so can't start it myself. I've searched and can't find a 20" self propelled mower by Honda or any other quality brand with electric start. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks for posting this review. Now I know not to watch or trust any others.
Was this the first time they ever saw grass or something?
Maybe a follow up test should be while it is snowing or something else absurd.
My Toro does the same thing when running thru morning wet grass. Gets clogged and stops!
Is it gas or battery? This grass was pretty short
30" Turfmaster! The absolute worst 1800 lawn maintenance investment ever! Now I can't sell this thing! Too many bad reviews on it. Not even a hundred hrs on this machine. As a matter of fact to say, I had a terrible time with this mower in the winter here in Ca.
Man, that sucks! I've got the Timemaster, and it rocks. Mine's the version with the 223cc engine, though. It doesn't mulch all that well, but it discharges and bags quite well. Of course, I'm no pro, so I don't work it quite as hard as you likely do! But man, it cuts nicely and it really works fast!
I have the Timemaster too. Use it probably 10 hrs a week, and discharging it is great. Bagging is pretty good. Mulching is pretty bad. Great machine though.
Rob & Marisela Francis had a old brigs it w stall in a foot thic of wet grass
This reminds me of when I bought my Dewalt battery powered multi tool kit it came with a drill, sawzaw, light, and a circular saw. Everything ran fine but then when I ran the circular saw the battery would go dead after cutting like 3 2"x4"s !!
Ouch. Not good
kevinboo2000, I know the sawzaw will kill batteries in a few cuts, but the circular saw should last for a long time.
Actually works other way. The circular saw suck the batteries dry fast. I have used the new 20v ones with much better results but you need a decent amp hour battery. I'd say 5 minimum for a useful amount of run time
Would this be appropriate for my Library job? Sometimes I got to do places where people are studying and reading and stuff or super POSH vacation cottages. If it's a lot quieter, I'm thinking maybe it would work in those situations?
My Murray I pulled from the curb is better than this.
I wouldn't doubt it.
I cant believe this made it out of testing.
I don't get it
Mind you, our petrol mower stalls when pushed through damp grass this tall. In saying that we are using it in mulching mode. I now cut half widths with it which keeps half the side clear for the off cuts.
I use the ECO mower and it works. Just slow down and it keeps working Mine takes one 56 Volt mower at 7 amps and I usually get 30 minutes run time.
lol. Don't buy a Dewalt mower
Yep. unless your yard is 3 1/2 swipes long....
dont buy a Dewalt anything
Milwalkie all the way
I think I spelt it wrong ahh sure
Toro all day everyday. That's all I'm sayin...
For tools like those. I prefer gas powered. Love all my Milwaukee tools
I love my milwaukee too but they don't have a lawn mower & I hope they never make on either.
As much as I love my Milwaukee and dewalt tools I know where to draw the line. My stihl chainsaws and weed whackers and toro lawnmower are just fine and won’t even consider an electric version to replace them. Too many sissys these days that “don’t want to mess with gas”. Hell if they still made them I’d buy a 2 stroke mower again...
You should test an Ego mower. It was a pleasant surprise. Been using one for a year now. 1/4 acre per-charge. I have a full acre property and it works great. 1 hour of run time to the 30 mins to charge. Based on mulching. Probably longer if I side shoot.
I'm in Manitoba.
I got a no name gas mower this year from Canadian tire it has the deck height adjustment too. I love it.
How about dont buy an electric mower lmao it doesnt matter what brand it is the Makitas stall out just like that to
Makita has an electric mower?
Tool Craze, I manage to stall my 2 horse power gasoline push mower, so I would never buy a battery power one.
The chainsaw is just as bad!
Ive never tried it.

I've got an old Troybilt from 96' that I got as a hand-me-down. Briggs&stratton engine . It works like a dream. That being said, I moved to the city, so my yard is a postage stamp now. Front yard is maybe 50x20 feet, back yard is about 50x50. A battery powered one might be good for that, don't have to worry about gas. I'd get a makita one cause I already have their batteries, but after seeing this? Maybe not.
I would re attempt doing another review on this mower when the grass is dry. It seems like half the comments say that you mowed in wet grass. The mower MAY be slightly better when the grass is dry. I would at least give it a try, like a Part 2 of the review.
bad tools?
the democratic party count?
LOL
Used this mower for 2 months and i love it but.....
My 4 complaints are
1: the battery cover is not closing tight enough and rattles all the time.
2: the height adjust lever is slack in the position comb and makes clunky noise
3: the paint is cheap and the deck bottom chipped at several places.
4: you must lift if off the grass so the blade can pickup speed or it wont start.
Would I buy it again? Yes because I already have the dewalt 20V tools for all my other tools and I can do my 6K sq ft lawn with 2 x 5Ah 20V with no problem, but it gets 7/10 because we expect a mower of this price to be flawless. I never experienced this motor jam issue in motion.
Can you do a review on the dewalt 20v 6 1/2 inch circular saw? I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on it. I find the runtime is not great.
I think Tools in action did one. Ive never ran one.
Hey there, I too love Dewalt tools BUT... I have heard some realy poor comments about their new battery chainsaws. That there were real problems with the bar tension system. Thanks for the videos
I live in Michigan. My John deere zero turn stays in our cold storage barn. Which isn't sealed well. Don't drain the fuel. Nothing. It starts right up in the spring and I'm ready to mow.
My friend has this mower but he uses two 12amp batteries works fine with those he said it works good with 9amp batteries too he tried his 5amp batteries and it ran poorly
Bought a 99 dollar mower from Walmart 15 years ago, still running perfect. Tho I had to replace one of its plastic wheels.
My one pull wonder.
You have to do it with flexvolt IVE GOT 6 amp ones does well would like to see the 9 and 12 amp
