Dude says the dlc items isn't game breaking.... umm it give players one of the 12 legendary weapons the Masamune and a non legendary but still broken/really good weapon the mage mashers. I'm soooooo damn hyped I know then game has been out for a wile but now that I have a system that can run in. Got the digital coppy today it was 60% off so it was 13 usd then I used my Xbox points to redeem for 10 dollars off so I got ff15 royal edition for about $3 usd

FFXV was special to me, being the first modern FF games that I owned. I loved every bit of it and am very fond of it. I’m not annoyed at the new DLCs because I’ll get them at some point and it doesn’t take away from my experience when first playing the game.
Play ff7, ff10 ff12 - zodiac age.. these are the only best ones.. theres also ff14 online.. but its alot of fucking grinding required

Totally not Mr. Crabs it was a good story you are right, but it wasn't told in a great way. The Kingsglave movie and Brotherhood should've been integrated into this game a Royal Edition shouldn't exist this game bad everything but it was mashed together terribly.
I liked that there was an anime though. I found out that the japanese cartoon style works really well with Final Fantasy and would love a full anime dedicated to this. There only is one thing they couldve done better if they insisted on making it an anime.. and this is implementing these videos into a gallery in the starting screen of the game as well. Not only on UA-cam. Same goes with the movie.

Y'all need to calm down. Whats more annoying is how people think its the new cool to hate on Square Enix just because the games don't hit your nostalgia g-spot. The games you played as a kid are always going to be your favorites, that's just how it is. But the gaming industry is constantly evolving and that is exactly how it should be. If you saw just how fucking hard these people work to try to make these games you would understand that it is way harder and more time consuming than it used to be. So yeah there is going to be DLC and additional content that they come out with to expand the game and improve on the problems. Keep in mind that they pushed this shit back 10 years because they needed extra time to TRY to make it something worth playing.
My only wish is that they fix some minor things at the battlesystem to actually make it challenging

Absolutely pick it up if you haven't yet! It was my first ever JRPG and I am blown away by how good it was! It's not a perfect game by any means but everything is so well crafted, especially, in my opinion, the story.
In this case, wait until you play FF7, it'll blow you away (I've played a lot of JRPGs, FF15 is kinda bad compared to the best one's out there)
Tabata did the best he could with the situation he was given. The base game at launch was missing a few things, but overall it was a solid complete experience. I played through it at launch, played and beat all dlc except comrades, and watched a few extra scenes they added, but aside from that I haven’t really played the game since. I’ve honestly been waiting for something like this.
This, in my opinion, is the game we should’ve had at launch. This is the game Tabata wanted to release to us but due to contract constraints was unable to do so. I went ahead and bought the physical edition for PS4. I love the cover art and hopefully it’ll free up some space on my console from all the downloaded patches lol I also just really wanna support these guys and this game.
It has its flaws, but all games do. It’s still a beautiful story, if a bit simple, with gorgeous visuals and music.
Naw everyone in the company is fair game. Fuck Square Enix in its entirety. I am now afraid of future final fantasy titles. And that’s a pity.

Perry D I completely agree. Tabata did his best with the time constraints given to him. I love the story of FFXV. Yeah, it had a few plotholes, which have hopefully been fixed by the Royal Edition. I really do love this game ^o^

Michael Traydor and yeah it took me 3 months to collect money to buy the ps4 with final fantasy. It's not that i don't have money but some stuff are more important than playing games. It sucks that i can't download the dlc cuz i really love the game and im still trying to buy the episodes

If Square Enix had released all content on its release date, people would be asking why there's no additional DLC, so it makes sense to both release something and hold something back as well.

I spent over $700 on FFXV (super duper collector's edition for me, deluxe for my friend, plus digital and season pass), and i pumped in 200+ hours and maxed out everything i could possibly max out, got all the weapons, crushed all the dungeons, all that jazz. the royal edition is nice, but i'm going to wait until the game is complete, definitively. Then i'll dive in, and probably drop another hundred or so hours getting the complete experience. I'm not sure how i feel about it taking 3 years to get the full game. But i loved what i played (from everything but a story standpoint), and i look forward to getting the full story.....better late than never.
I haven’t played a video game in years. FF15 is my return to gaming and I love it. I love the open world and the side quests but the side quests do distract from the storyline. Some days I don’t even want to move forward in the game. I’m doing quests that are way below my level now because I leveled up doing the other missions. I get tired playing the game because the battles take so long and the long walking gets tiring. Other than that I love this game. When I’m done with it I won’t be playing another game for a long time. That’s just how I role. I grew out of video games a while ago.

I don't really see the problem everyone is having I mean I understand a little bit but at least there's no loot boxes like every other game. And continuing to add dlc to keep it fresh is a good thing in my opinion. Keeps it alive. What's the big deal with buying a dlc that has more story? "It should have been in the main game" no one complains that in order to figure out the rest of the telltale games like walking dead you have to buy the other episodes instead of originally being one package. I know it's not the same but even buying a sequel it's the same game most of the time just better graphics and a expansion of the story. But with this the graphics stay the same and it's cheaper. I know there are not the same but I mean close enough. Plus it's not like if you don't buy it you will die or something just ignore it if you don't want it plus if you like the game think of it as a good thing for people who haven't played it yet to finally pick it up giving it more attention. There's really no point wasting anger on dlc like this when there's worse things in games right now and way more scumy tactics. This game is one of my favorite games out of a lot that I've played and I haven't bought anything for it other than the game itself because packages like this come out. But I'll just wait longer and buy the complete version for a even better price. I just see as if you bought the season pass before this wait and if your new might as well pick it up and give it a shot.

I think they should make the extra content available for those of us who purchased the game when it was originally launched. I was really disappointed in the story and while I know that they have done updates to the story, I haven't plucked up the nerve to go through this game again yet. Being able to control the boat is awesome but I would like to be able to explore the areas from chapter 10-13 in the post game as well. This is a huge area that could add extra hunts and other side quests but I digress.

I like final fantasy xv. People have to stop bitching. I thought they got it out of their system when it launched on console. I beat it on xbox one s and never played the DLC. So glad they dropped it on pc with all the content included

Got this game(royal edition) in late 2020 for $18. Just got back into video games after having kids. I greatly enjoyed it, well still enjoying it now in 2021. It does take a long time to play and if you arent playing daily, well it's a long game. I do hate the fishing. I could do with less of that. I'm a completionist so I'll probabaly be playing this game forever.
It is really sad that games are starting to look like this...I just played through FF15 and honestly, even after watching Kingsglaive & Brotherhood, I really had a hard time understanding what is going on. I actually had to go and do some online searching to actually understand what is the backstory for Ardyn and also why did Noctis have to do what he did at the end. A lot of the character motivations should've been explained in the game. I really don't understand games nowadays anymore, they slap so much development time into make things look pretty, but then character & story gets a back seat. Character building & story should always be the emphasis of any good game. People don't love games for their graphics only, you need character & story to really make gamers love the game.
If you take a look back at FF7, you have character archs that tell you who is Sephiroth, Cloud & Tifa. FF15? It is just a convoluted mess. Noctis and Lunafreya might have had some character development, but it really isn't enough to make you love them. At least not the way I loved Cloud, Squall & Zidane.
The only thing that disturbs me in this game is the fact that I can't hit the world as lone wolf. All the fucking time I need to be with them all

If you guys think they’re milking 15, just have a look at the plan they have for 7.... 15 isn’t the best by any stretch, and it is turning into a bit of a cash cow, but the released content is solid. DLC seems to be taking a hit in a big way ever since EA had a cashgasm over loot crates, but if you consider special editions, complete editions, collectors editions and the like can and do sell for an upwards of £200, the value for money is actually pretty good. Besides, the patches and updates alone are enough. No one forces you to buy the extras and the patches they released for free covered a lot of the glaring issues. The DLC for purchase is designed purely as an enhancement for those who feel they want more. So instead of bitching. How about trade in 15, and then buy the single disk for 7 that may or may not be released in 2019, that may or may not even be close to the full game, that may or may not actually be 7 beyond the characters, that may or may not die part way through the game.......

I have the base game and the season pass, yet saw no royal upgrade to buy. Only the full Royal Edition of FFXV.

I bought the Deluxe Edition at launch along with the Season Pass. I will still be purchasing this. I am not mad at all. What's that saying? "Vote with your wallet"? I am fully supportive of what Square has done with this game thus far and will continue to support it.

and effort into getting the complete game and filling those holes that we saw in FFXV.I won't lie, FFXV had its flaws and it wasn't perfect, and it definitely wasn't complete, but that's the point of DLC's, is to add that extra content. The fact that they're bringing all of that together in the royal edition for only $50 is a STEAL. Think about it as FFXIV, that's a good fucking RPG, but you have to pay monthly to get that quality content.

Kim Seokgene Bad news since I was looking forward to FFVII remake since it's my favourite one, it could be pushed back to as far as 2020 now though I'm hoping it really doesn't because if it takes too long I'll just get my PS2 out or buy the PS4 port

I love FFXV but what if you have the base game with season pass? Do I have to purchase royal edition to get the new content? And basically the season pass was a waste or can I get the new content separately?
Final Fantasy XV was terrible. my playtime with it was 60 hours and the only part i liked was the main quest which was about 15 hours of my playtime. granted i was able to blaze through the second half of the main quest thanks to grinding with the side content. but that still meant that 45 hours, 5/6th of my playtime was with the side content. and the side content was boring. and thought i liked the main quest it was just okay, nothing spectacular.
there are a lot of problems with this game but here are the ones that really got to me.
the first problem is the stamina mechanic. this mechanic is in the game for the sake of immersion. i hate when immersion features add nothing or even interfere with gameplay. since this is an open world game you'll be going all over the place. and while there are other, faster means of getting around when those other means aren't available it would definitely be nice if i could sprint full speed without ever having to slow down. MGS5 lets you run full speed without having to slow down, i don't see why it couldn't be the same here. funny thing is, right before i played FFXV i played MGS3. a game that also has a stamina mechanic. but in MGS3 it actually adds to the gameplay. for example, with high stamina you heal faster and your hands don't shake when using weapons.
the biggest problem with FFXV are the side quests. these are some of the most boring side quests in all of gaming. and not only are they boring they are also very repetitive. the ones that involve combat are more tolerable, but beyond that there's nothing to enjoy about these side quests.
next we have the weather system, another immersion feature. for the most part this isn't an issue. unless you take on one of the hunting side quest for a monster that only appears when it rains. this can lead to situations where you fast travel to the monster's location and then leave to do another side quest cause it's not raining. then you check again after completing that other side quest and you repeat this process till it finally rains. this adds nothing to gameplay and just wastes your time.
next we have the dark caves, another immersion feature that's just annoying to deal with. in terms of substantial gameplay what do i gain from only being able to see 1 meter in front of me? nothing. i should be able to explore these caves without having to rely on my minimap for navigation.
there are other issues but for me personally it's minor stuff i can overlook. i'll end this comment by saying that this game was so bad that it actually hurt to play. i'm not kidding, when i finished the game i was in physical pain and it came from playing the game. it took resting for a day and playing Devil May Cry, a much better game despite the fact it came out 15 years before FFXV, for the pain to go away.
Empty ass open world, dull to the brim side quests, rushed story, plot holes to the max, expansion passes and DLC in its entirety of filling in story, and questionable collabs, and advertisements. This final fantasy title was so fucking disappointing that it’s obviously having an identity crisis. This is a sell out of a FF. I fear for the future titles of this series.
So, there's actually an intentional infinite stamina technique in the game where if you press the sprint button right as Noctis' stamina runs out, it instantly fills. That, and there's food that gives you actual infinite stamina. And if you play the song "Calling for Rain" (from the Kingsglaive OST) on the MP3 player it summons rain pretty quickly as an easter egg.
The side content isn't anything special, but I have to ask: if you weren't enjoying the side content, why'd you subject yourself to 45 hours of it?
i didn't notice the side content was boring at first. once i did notice i kept at it hoping it would get better. and when it didn't i started forcing myself to try and complete it. and even then i just couldn't do it. once i got tired of the side content i just blazed through the main quest to get it over with.
i was excited for this game since it was first announced back in 2006 under the title Final Fantasy Versus XIII. i know it changed a lot from what was originally envisioned but i still had high hopes for this game, especially after playing the demo. that's why i was so determined to complete it.
i was a huge Final Fantasy fan when i was younger. and while FF Type 0 was okay, it had been a long time since i really enjoyed a Final Fantasy game. so i really wanted FFXV to be good.
RekiWylls The only reason I spent so much time as well doing sidequests was because I thought I was going to be rewarded with something, but doing sidequests only makes the game more easy than it already is. And just by not doing side stuff, this is already a really easy game with a broken item usage system. Plus, I remember I wasn't even that far into the game's story when I started doing sidequests, so I still had faith that this game's main story would amaze me like FFXIII, FFXIV, FFX, and FFVIII did.

If you played the side content for a long time before you noticed it was boring, then it wasn't boring. You just got bored of it. You burned yourself out. People can get bored of even the funnest things if they don't take a break now and then. It's like eating pizza everyday, or listening to the same song over and over. You eventually get tired of it. No the game story suck, they keep milking it and the royale edition is not even the complete edition. Everybody that pays $60 for the vanilla edition was fuck up and should feel betray by Square Enix.
My feeling exactly, purchased the deluxe edition and it feels like half the game right now after all they have been adding. Worst part is It looks so good yet I won't buy anything FF XV again until something like a discount complete version comes out.

Is it just me or did anyone else find this game totally lack lustre? I’m not a huge fan of FF games but i did play through ff7 and loved it years back but ff15 felt dumbed down, the combat was boring and repetitive and lacked depth and the story just seemed all over the place I probably played around 15 hours but then never went back to finish it or anything...

Supersonicspyro 24 Turn based make you think of a strategy, find the weakness of the opponent, think when to heal and what item to use next. The hack and slash of FF XV was repetitive and can't win against a turn based.
AngelusKnight I think the real problem with XV's action RPG combat is the potion spamming with no cool downs or wait bar of items of any kind to limit it. Most enemies can just be hold O to win on I agree with you there. You can even spam warpstrike to win most battles.
one of my favourite games but you are right about it being dumbed down. They usually develop the FF games with the Japanese Market as there target audience and then the FF fans in the west enjoy it but this approach rarely picks up new fans in the western region as it was developed for Japan. This generation Japan has seen an all time low in console sales and the majority of Japanese gamers now game on handhelds and mobile devices so sales in Japan would be hindered and this is a problem as it was the main target and made up 3/4 of there FF sales. So losing the Japanese market because of this change they pushed heavier than ever for the west and to start appealing to more of the west to make up for losing Japan this is why the game was more heavily marketed and advertised than any other main FF game as they believe the west is big on advertisements, Tabata even went on record saying they dumbed down the story as they felt it was too complex for the western audience, they also felt that we don't appreciate complex storylines and so they made it as simple as possible. In a way it worked, its one of the best selling FF titles to date so it obviously made up with new western fans after losing its home market. I have also seen loads of people say this was there first FF game and they loved it so they succeeded in brining in new fans from the west but they have also let down fans such as myself who have been here for years and appreciate the complex stories. Its concerning to see what they will do with FF16 as Japan shows no signs of having a boost in home console sales meaning they may continue this trend to push the games to the west. Its not the first time either, the west did not see FF2,FF3 and FF5 till many years after there release instead the west got FF4 retitled as FF2 and FF6 retitled as FF3 to not confuse the western numbers games, the reason for this was because they felt the game mechanics and systems in play for FF2,3 and 5 were too complex for the west and that we would not like them. This only changed when FF7 was announced and the Wester audience was confused because the last game we had was FF3, the revealed to us that our FF2 was FF4 and our FF3 was FF6 and finally released the real 2 and 3 as well as 5 before FF7.

TophDaGreat Blame the investors for pressuring Square Enix to release the game even though Tabata asked them for more time to complete the project. They were barely given 3 years to completely overhaul a project that had already been in development hell for 6 years and was almost cancelled completely. The fault is on Square Enix for shitty management and on the investors for caring more about money than quality but I admire Tabata's development team for deciding to stick with the game for this long and for trying to improve it even though they already made all of their money back in the first month of release. At this point the support for the game is less about money for them and more about improving the experience otherwise they could've just left the game as is and left with everyone's money which they already had.
Siding with the commenter, certain leaks have come out saying that the game wasn't even supposed to have been released until 2021. Honestly it was the damn impatient fans who kept saying "it's taking too long, we want the game now". We got an unfinished game because of the impatience of fans and the impatience of investors.
Plus, yeah, it wasn't as long as a decade. XV is Tabata. Versus XIII is Nomura.

Ozair Chishti it's pretty good. It serves as a prequel to Zestiria, which was generally disliked by fans until Berseria filled in some plotholes. The battles are definitely better than Zestiria. And the characters have some good development.

Theroux I really need to understand why you hate 9 so much. It's more traditional Final fantasy than anything after it and the two games before it. The character models are small to resemble the old school smaller ff character models in 1-7. The character designs look like anything from 1-6.

People considering XIII as the worst but at least XIII doesn't need bunches of DLC to "expand" the "story", which the DLC's didn't fullfil. You may not like the story of XIII but at least it has a story and I understand the whole thing. For iditos there is even a data log! Story always has high priority. Criticism about everything else like gameplay, characters etc. is normal and it's opinion to opinion but a Final Fantasy lacking of story, it's the worst you could make. I will never pre order a game from Square Enix ever again. I did and I regret it, I still do. At least the Ignis figure is nice lol :)

Correction: It was supposed to be turned out one of the best, now it's garbage. The graphics and soundtracks are the only good things about this game. And the game is so finished that more DLC's are coming aww worst FF ever!

I just bought a physical copy of Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition a couple of weeks ago. I have some of the DLC, like Terra Wars, but not all. Comrades, as well as the three DLC Episodes released so far is not including in my copy of Royal Edition. I also get nothing from hitting the Downloadable Content option or PlayStation Store Option from the main menu. I am signed into my PlayStation 4 account, and I can get to the PlayStation Store normally, just not through the game itself. What is going on?????
