- Most of you know Ben Barnes as the dastardly Logan from HBO's "Westworld" or the dastardly General Kirigan from Netflix's "Shadow and Bone", but what you might not know is that Ben Barnes is also (a) extremely charming IRL and (b) a budding singer-songwriter! On the eve of the release of his much-anticipated debut EP, 'Songs For You', Young Hollywood catches up with Ben via Zoom to find out more about this album and in particular the inspiration behind its leading single "11:11"! We also play a game of "This or That" to find out whether he prefers staying in or going out, music or acting, and more, plus we teach him some Gen-Z slang that he can use to impress his younger "Shadow and Bone" co-stars! I'm a millennial and I'm SO used to being the "young generation", it's been so weird in these last few years to hear slang that is so completely foreign and alien to me and be like "yep, so that's how my parents felt, probably" lol

As a long-time teacher, I've enjoyed hearing how teenage slang changes *constantly*! And then words & phrases come back around through the decades. 😆😆

I really don't care that he is basically double my age, I love him too much and the more I watch the stronger it gets. Still remember watching Narnia as a kid and adoring his character which has only increased and extended to him as an actor and person as the years went by.

I know the feeling of showing my age! My best friend is gen z, and I’m at the end of gen x so that’s what I identify with the most. I’m always referencing songs and movies and slang and other pop culture from when I was young, and get a blank stare. I have a sense of humor about myself and just laugh it off!
