    Gum disease treatment can be done today in a minimally invasive, maximally effective way, with dental lasers.
    In this video Dr. Joseph Nemeth, a Periodontist in Michigan discusses LANAP, and how we have been able to help our patients save loose teeth which would have otherwise been lost to periodontal disease.
    When you have gum disease, you start to lose the bone that supports the teeth. Periodontitis is the #1 cause of tooth loss so if we can treat gum disease, often times we can save loose teeth.
    There are many benefits to laser gum treatment. One of the benefits is avoiding cutting infected gum tissue away and sometimes we can achieve bone regeneration or bone growth.
    We cannot count on predictable bone growth. However, in many cases we have been able to regrow bone in the jaw and save teeth that are loose because of gum disease.
    Periodontitis is a silent killer. When you have gum disease, often times you don't even know it. Sometimes, you can't tell by looking at your teeth and gums. That's why we look at the x-rays to examine the true damage occurring underneath the surface.

      Worst place. Money hungry people, horrible service. I spent around 12k in between a splint, laser surgery, and pinhole surgery for nothing. They scam people in this place. Dr. Nemeth pretends to be nice in the first visits, and his youtube channel, yet after you paid he shows his real face and all he cares about is money. Go to Anderson periodontist, she is actually a good doctor and cares about you. Laser surgery here is around 5k, and pinhole for only 2/3 teeth 7k. I have been going to a periodontist specialists for some years now. I had a bridge and was misinformed of the number of teeth that would be involved. I was very upset and went to this specialists to make sure the bridge was sound. I had to have gum surgery and another bridge to replace the one that was just put on...this was back in 1997. I went in for a cleaning as I continued to have my teeth cleaned at this specialists office and was only told a couple weeks ago I had gum disease . nothing is being done to halt my gum problem. I am in to prevention therapy! Not fixing it after it's to late. Wish I had seen your You Tub vids sooner ..I'm calling to make an appointment. Hello Dr. Nemeth!
    I just found your video here from a year ago, off of one of your more recent videos. The very first case you present would seem to be more of a "horizontal" bone loss case, would that be an accurate description? I've developed a few gingival "black triangles" across my lower 3-4 front teeth ... and I went to a local periodontist that had a LANAP laser, and they basically said it was irreversible.
    I took their word for it, but seeing the first case you presented makes me wonder if I should maybe go get a 2nd opinion? Thank you for any insight you can provide. A video clearly about "horizontal" cases would be awesome! Some of us with bruxism and sleep disordered breathing really ended up messing up our jaws before we caught the damage.

    I had peridontal disease on my 1st molar and serious bone loss (the last stage- type 4 furcation defect) in the furcation area. But the alveolar bone has regrown naturally (i.e. furcation defect is nearly gone) without having to undergo bone-grafting SURGERY or receiving LASER treatment. How has my tooth bone grown naturally? I was very much surprised by this phenomenon. [All my dentist did was giving me a root canal procedure and have my tooth irrigated all the way inside the tooth with iodide disinfectant solution. That's all he did.]

    Just a thought if a laser is used to burn out the plaque and bacteria , then it would also burn the skin inside the gum, which would leave dead skin on the inner gum and would inhibit the gum to reattach to the tooh and leave a gap between tooth and gum for food or bacteria to have a place to again create plaque and bacteria, Wouldnt the laser also burn some tooh or bone or skin at bottom between gum and tooth ? Nothing is mentioned that i picked up on results one or two years later since laser treatment seems to be new and years later results are lacking. For the cost and the unknowns would have to be in need of some thought ? 😀

      I'd love to know too. And if LANAP can be used for stable and non-active gum disease, meaning can LANAP can be used to restore the bone and gum already lost.

    Interesting. How do you say the improvement is due to the use of the Laser? What about the dietary factor or natural healing process ? Do you have a double blind study to back your claims ? What is the time and cost involved for the procedure? What is the name of the laser? Thank you

    I live in the UK,do you think any UK dentists offer this treatment or is it limited to the US only.I got diagnosed recently with early periodontal disease and had a deep cleaning and scaling and root planning.I was told I lost a very small amount of bone and the disease has now stabilized. Do you think I'm in danger of losing my teeth or can I stop the disease altogether if I practice good oral hygiene with brushing and flossing.

    I’ve randomly had all my teeth become loose 4 months ago and it’s gotten worse as time goes on but everyone just says my bone loss is at most 2mm and my recession is there but not horrible so nobody can tell me what’s going on or how to fix it. I feel like I’m just sitting at home waiting for my teeth to fall out. I’m curious if this can actually help with pretty loose teeth? Someone suggested I try this but it sounds expensive and I don’t know if it would actually even help.

    With my experience right after lanap....I went home, my gums were still minimally bleeding and very very swollen. After the numbness were gone it starts to feel very sore and uncomfortable. I took two 500mg Tylenol and was ok. The procedure with the actual laser was pretty generous besides all the needles for numbing and the pressure from the scaling and root planing. Now its just a waiting game to see if bone will grow or not.

    • @neeskub8088
      @neeskub8088 4 роки тому +2

      Sen Huynh no the gums don’t grow back. It’s going to remove some of the gum tissue that has been infected which is just the little layer of your gum that’s around the teeth. However I did noticed some recession after the procedure. Very minor recession.
