I have been all over Buckeye and felt like I was in the boat with ya👍 Good Ole Snug Harbor I used to fish it from the bank back when it was unknown to many..always produced Pig Saugeye! Saugeye - not biting much at all yet. Water temps are up in the high 50's already. The water level is only a few inches away from full now. Time to start searching for them!

Mark, the algae content gets pretty high that time of year that's why it looks so green. However, Buckeye Lake is one of the healthiest lakes in Ohio. That's why there is no restrictions on eating fish out of there compared to all other lakes have restrictions. No chemical issues at all, just good old natural algae. If you can get over the shallow water muddy and algae look, it's a great fishery!
Would you be interested in taking two old farts on a charter on buckeye? We live in Newark. My older brother and myself. Like a trip like you and your pop. Full moon is coming up. We throw the big one back. Want a limit of 16 to 20,s. What you think?

Ron, sorry for the late reply. I don't do any charters but if you look up Doug Stewart, he takes people out on Buckeye and is a PRO with the Saugeye.
