I used to travel down from Marquette in the U.P. to Danville, Ohio to fish smallies in the Mohican the first week of October with my high school buddies (I'm grew up in Akron). The one and only saugeye I every caught was during this time but it wasn't in the Mohican, it was in the Tusc just east of Coshocton. It was an 18 or 19 incher and it hit a black and silver Thunderstick jr (shallow runner).
Would you happen to know what the outflow measurement was at the time when you fished it? I always check before I go to spillways just so I don’t waste my time
@@Matthew-qk1xi absolutely correct. Been going there for 40 years and you can really get on them at times. Caught 8 different species in a single day. Was much better before the COE rebuilt the race and put in picnic tables and stuff, where he was casting from was a huge washout bowl and was like shooting fish in a barrel as they say. 25 minutes from home and there is a great little carry out bait shop north on Rt 212 in Summerdale
Looks like the spillway at Atwood Lake.
Nice video. Makes me look forward to the brisk mornings that are coming and doing exactly this...
Absolutely. Can’t wait! Thanks for watching

@@jaymacklin8303 didn’t feel like I needed to say what lake, as most Ohio spillways will produce the same results.
