I like how the emperor is using powerful, ancient elemental magic that can force the dead back into their graves, and then Alex comes along and provides a modern solution by simply shooting the orbs.
The thing is, you could actually do the same with a crossbow, which means it was even possible in ancient times, the only difference is the gun can perform quicker and reload much faster.

5 of the worst ways to die in the Mummy movies:
1. Eaten alive by scarab beetles.
2. Crushed between two giant gears.
3. Fall into a pit of scorpions.
4. Having your organs and flesh sucked out as a regeneration for a monster to be brought back to life.
5. Ripped apart by a half-man, half-scorpion creature.
I think #4 and 5 are the least painful ways to die compared to all of those.

Watching the stuff in these Mummy movies makes me miss Brendan Fraser so much, he was my childhood hero when I was a kid, he was my Tom Cruise as a kid. And the Mummy trilogy is to thank for that.

It's pretty sad to hear, because he's not a bad actor (also a skilled photographer, which I did not know) and he worked hard for his roles, and actually had to have surgery several times because he performed his own stunts. I don't know much about what happened beyond internet memery, but I understand that he had a huge downward spiral not just because of his divorce, but because of financial bouts with directors and such, and he's basically had to work his way back up from the bottom.
It's still better than the mummy remake in 2017
To be fair I think having a female mummy would make sense I mean I get it in your opinion it's terrible but for me I'm a neutral person so I determine where it is either good or bad not going against what you say though.
@@demochris1786 I didn't think the 2017 "The Mummy" was that bad. Not to mention it was its own flick with its own story line, characters, etc.
Here's a fun fact: The 2017 "The Mummy" was originally going to be a continuation of this franchise, with the O'Connell's in Latin America fighting an Aztec mummy (whom was going to be portrayed by Antonio Banderas).

I genuinely love 1999's _The Mummy._ Saw it in theaters when I was eleven, and I've probably seen it about 100 times in the twenty years that have passed since. To this day, it's still one of my go-to movies whenever I wanna relax and watch something fun. And I feel much the same way about _The Mummy Returns..._ it's just a blast, and is very rewatchable.
But if I'm to be completely honest... _Tomb of the Dragon Emperor_ has always been a major guilty pleasure of mine. Yes, it's nowhere near as good as the first two, and it sucks that Rachel Weisz didn't return... but it's still mildly entertaining, and I usually end up popping it on whenever I rewatch the first two films. It's harmless fun.

@@cheddarcheese9311 100% agree. Saw _Mummy (2017)_ at the local discount theater for like $2.75, and I borderline wanted a refund. Almost fell asleep multiple times watching it, I was so bored and apathetic.
It was somehow worse than all the cheesy, direct-to-video _Scorpion King_ sequels... and some of those are almost unwatchable.
No shame in that my friend I love the trilogy

Imhotep truly loved Anck Su Namun, but she was only in love with the idea that she would finally be free of Seti I because she was basically a dolled up concubine. When she realized that Imhotep was taken care of, she was finally done with the charade. It’s pretty ironic that she gets eaten by scorpions almost immediately after she abandons and leaves Imhotep to get dragged back down to hell.

Well, Kinda simple that imhotep is more powerful in any ways...you need to cast an egyptian spell to make him mortal, which is the dragon emperor doesn't know about.
That's what was supposed to happen, Imhotep as a last resort ally to fight the dragon emperor, but the plan was scrapped

This has got to be one of the most gruesome yet over-the-top deaths I've ever seen in a film. It almost makes me throw up every time I see it, but it's also an awesome defeat.
I like how Jet Li agrees to do it without the use of his powers.
I like how skeletons fight when they almost lost but still want to get revenge and earn the victory, it's like a human died and rise back just to revenge for the time they got killed in the past and fight for the future. Once the battle end, skeletons rises to heaven for the eternal peace.
And Ming can finally rest with his beloved

Also, has anyone wondered about an extended version for this movie? The deleted scenes actually helped the movie with some errors. Like, this scene for example. The way that was presented made more sense when Rick was grabbing the broken dagger. The way this was cut together in this cut isn't well presented for some reason. They really should have kept that scene in there, because Rick kicked major ass in that version of this fight!

@Fahmi Andriant I think we all do, it just wasn’t the same without her which is one of this films MANY problems. I think Mario Bello is a solid & underrated actress, but she was miscast & just couldn’t live up to or surpass Rachel Weisz.
What people don't pay attention to is the part when Rick saw the sand drawing made by Alex and the knife beside it. This is a callback to when he was a kid and how he and his parents hunted down Imhotep by leaving behind sand drawings/castles.

I think he looks more badass in a cursed terracotta form. The creators should have kept him in that form for the rest of the movie. His ability to regenerate his terracotta shell after being broken is way cool. Well the movie is about the undead mummies anyway.
