Amazing singer, and he totally nails the whole performance. He has just the right voice for this song. Many have sang this song but THIS is how it was mean to sound... in my humble opinion. In other words, I've heard many versions, and this is my favorite one. :)
+Chris Chicas (Listhoven) @ Lupo A. Janelli: Perhaps you missed the part where I said "in my humble opinion." Anyways, I have listened to many versions and this is by far my favorite one.
Chris Chicas thank you kindly for your generous complement. I love revisiting this time of my life and this amazing performance opportunity. I’m glad to know that it still touches people as it did me.
I thank you deeply for your kind words. I fondly remember those days as if they were yesterday. I am acting, singing, and teaching. Not traveling with big opera houses any more I'm afraid. I took a few years to slow down and raise a family, and now I can't seem to get any of those same large houses to even audition me! :) Regardless, it was a dream come true. Thanks again for the words.
I most certainly did learn a great deal from my mentor. With the anniversary of his death coming tomorrow, I am reflecting upon the warm words he used to speak to me every time we were together. Stay centered in your body. Keep the breath moving and free. And create wonderful space in the throat. All these were just among the few things he taught me. The biggest was to sing with great depth and passion no matter if it was not the normal. And to be true to the character.
If the big opera houses have forgotten your talent, I am sure there are thousands of folks who would love to see you in a Fort Worth Opera production at the Bass Hall! And thank you for your excellent performance of this aria!
Whenever I hear this aria in my mind, it is Elijah’s excellent performance that I hear; and whenever I listen to it on the stereo, it is only Elijah’s excellent performance that I want to hear. Bravissimo, Elijah!! Bravissimo!!
Elise Curran I did indeed. He was a generous friend and mentor. We used to chat in rehearsals and in the dressing room before the show-about life and technique.

Elijah Chester that was a great performance of that aria. You sounded great and delivered the scene perfectly. Bravissimo!
This is my first Aria and what a great example to listen to as I try and get my tongue around some of the phrases.
Awesome and thanks.

I like character... Harlequin from the commedia dell'arte... 0:04 - 0:19 ... Excellent TV :)
All done... 1:29 :)
Devo dire che proprio mi e' piaciuto. Sia il canto sia l'interpretazione scenica, non e' urlato, e credo che Leoncavallo sarebbe contento

Elijah, great job....you're very musical! Did you learn anything about your tenor singing while you were working with the Maestro (Pav)?
