London keeping you on your toes, while Miami was less worried about things by having an ATC suffering a stroke and text-message-instructing you to "runway T". Perfect realism

@@MichaelTheRead He acted exactly how you should in this situation, nothing unprofessional about it. Also strange that you'd incorrectly call someone else unprofessional and then talk about how you would have cussed them out over an ATC frequency.
Would like to think they do to keep the realism but tbh the London airspace is busy all the time and any delay caused by pilot error will be noticeable to them straight away. They are nice guys and can help you out, but it’s understandable if you’ve got 10 aircraft on frequency to deal with and 3 of them don’t follow taxi instructions and 1 of them have a readability of 2
Got to love that unique callsign, used by British Airways since 1932. Taken from the emblem logo of Imperial Airways, and then BOAC, before the company was eventually known as British Airways. Although the Speedbird logo itself, was replaced by the Union Flag in 1984, it still appeared on the BAC Aerospatiale Concorde registered G-BOAD, underneath the cockpit window. G-BOAD holds the record for a Transatlantic passenger airliner crossing to this day, set on Feb 7th 1996, at 2hrs 52mins and 59 secs. G-BOAD was also the last Concorde to ever make that crossing in 2003. Today, she sits on Pier 86, at the Intrepid Museum, Manhattan, New York. The real Speedbird herself.

@clqudy4750 Darth Plague is a fictional Sith Lord from the Star Wars Saga. Concorde was a very real supersonic aircraft that accounts as the very first time that humanity has regressed in technology, rather than evolved. That A380 took over 8hrs in 2024, to do something that took less than 3 in 1996, and very close to that for 20 years previously. I find that shocking, to think two generations have had that speed of travel stolen from them.
@@jpckuijer Funny that. It was selfishness and corruption on a national scale that destroyed supersonic flight in the first place. No if you can’t follow hold short instructions you should not be on vatsim. Also the CoC requires you to have charts to navigate so it’s the pilots fault, he did nothing wrong
Hey AFP95, love the vatsim content and seeing some more realistic gameplay, hope to be doing that IRL at some point in the near future when I get my licences. Out of curiosity, were you able to pass along to Austin if I could pick his brain about the career path towards being an airline pilot? I got discord if you would like.
multiple aircraft lining up on the runway in the UK is commonplace just about everywhere when the runway can allow for it. you see it at EGCC runway 23L a fair bit when it's busy
I don't have Xbox, but the Microsoft flight simulator is fascinating to me. My main games are racing, but maybe one day I'll try the flying. Two things: I love the ATC at London, reminding pilots to please observe the hold instructions. They were well told. Secondly, for added realism why is there no co-pilot and where are the passengers and crew or is it difficult for the developer to add them? Anyway, it's still great to watch, technology really is something.
Whenever he gives himself a nice landing score it’s like the MSFS universe gives him an ego check. Always a fatal error, random speed bumps, or clipping out of the taxiway.
Question - at around 12:17 ATC gives the instruction to turn right to a heading of 360 - isn't that just going into a circle and ending up on the heading where you started? I am confused!
The headings are all with regards to compass directions, so turning right to a heading of 360 just means to turn right until you're facing due north. Presumably they say 360 instead of 000 so it's less ambiguous
He was instructed to turn right and fly a heading of 360 degrees, not turning by 360 degrees. He was on 275, so he is changing his heading by 85 degrees :)
Hey AFP, I had a thought while watching this video. I've always wondered about the time jumps between flight level increases, decreases, and other events. Would it be easily possible to have some kind of a clock on-screen that better illustrates the time gap between events? I'm assuming in this video for example that the increase from FL60 to FL90 to FL150 to FL290 each have a good couple of minutes in between, but I don't have a frame of reference for it. Might just be me, dunno if more artifacts on the screen would be desirable, but wanted to ask.
