It's mind blowing how poorly optimized this game is.
This game shouldn't be running as poorly as it does, especially for a Blizzard game. They didn't optimize this game AT ALL.
Even on Legacy Mode... I can't even walk 3 seconds without choppiness and lag. Meanwhile I can play D3 on ultra settings.. but can't play D2 on minimum settings. What a fucking joke of a cashgrab.

@@alexxander1768 try resetting ingame graphics to default. Optionally, turn off vsync and limit frame rate to your monitor Hz. Everytime I tinker with graphic settings it degrades the performance
the games Runs pretty Well in Dungeons but overworld is lagging especially when trees are present... maybe a Beta issue I Hope so
It's unreal that I can play d3 and wow with barely any lag on my laptop but this game just breaks it. Ridiculous. Another lame cash grab for shoddy work by blizz.
The FPS is running smooth for me. My problem is that annoying sound stutter which happens randomly every 10-200 minutes during gameplay for a few seconds, long enough to be annoying.
Also, when i start the game up, it seems loading and the stutter is the real shit for like.. 20-30 seconds until it slowly calms down and stabilizes.
Game lags like hell for 5 second and run at 60 fps for next 5 second. And again lags for another 5 seconds. At first i thought it has something to do with vram or ram limitations but i have more than minimum and even if i stay in one place it happens too. Do u have any idea what is going on?
Freesync and G-Sync don't do anything if you're driving the game OVER the refresh rate of your monitor (how could they? they work by adapting the sync rate of your monitor to the framerate of the game you're playing-- but they can't force the monitor to refresh faster than it's capable of). You still need to cap FPS, either by using a frame limiter or by using v-sync, if you want to avoid tearing.
Frame limiter in-game or with software. Don't use vsync to limit your fps.

I really can't play more than 10 minutes without a heavy lag and then "Connecting to the server" and then "Cannot communicate with the server" and then I have to exit D2R, restart Battle net software and try again. Every 10 minutes! It is a miracle that I managed to get to Act3 on Hell. I still havent found a solution...

But, do HAGS actually help performance? I've been looking all over the internet and the opinion on it seems...inconclusive.
Thanks for this video. Had hardware accelerated GPU off. Never heard of that setting. Haven't tried the D2R beta but have an 11 year old computer (with a GTX 1650 which is a bit newer) so I suspect I will need to optimize the settings the best I can to run the game.
Alienware R4 laptop (i7820 / 32GB RAM / GTX 1080 / 2560x1440 / 120Hz /all programs are on NVMe) and the fps is between 15 and 30 no matters I setup Low or Very high settings ingame. Everything checked, latest drivers, all Windows, Nvidia and game preferences, program settings are as million people suggested and still crap fps on the external monitor (also 2560x1440 resolution 120/144Hz)
Now going to buy another Alienware with RTX 2070, hope it'll be better.
Same here, 8-10 fps regardless of settings. This game is complete trash optimization-vise

i have i7-6700 cpu, 3,40ghz with 16gb ram. using a GeForce gtx 1660. runs pretty good on high settings, the beta just have issues with lag and stuff. its why its called beta, so they can see what to fix.

Is it common for the game to randomly crash? The game runs fine, but it randomly crashes. It's getting annoying to play, as sometimes it will crash and I'll drop an item.
So I've only played like 10-15 mins of it but it only seems to lag when I go to record it

@@MihaiCoD8 Same here. Runs like a turd even w 16gb RAM. Let's take a 20 year old game that since day one ran easily on pretty much any machine and make it run like crap on modern hardware.
I have the same setup and a same issue. On high/medium details IT is cutting when on the screen i have a lot of lighting and fire. I hope IT was because of Beta :/ Need to check yourbooster
i have a msi laptop with a 1660 ti in it, and i have to run diablo ii resurrected on low settings... even though there's all these other more graphically intense games that I can play on high settings.. its weird..

Been playing since launch have 2 mid 80s and a couple 60s no lag issues now all of a sudden I lag so hard I can't play. Swap to legacy and the lag is gon3... wtf
What's insane to me is i have a gtx 1080 with an intel i7 8700k and 32gb ddr4 ram.. yet i get less than 40 fps in D2R.. its driving me nuts
I have the same specs as yours but with only 16gigs of ram, i get 144-200fps, with updated drivers.
I always have a high Ping around 48 - 79 but when I measure the Ping, it is never over 30 mostly so 14-19 only in the Game not. What could be done or set differently in the Game?
Hello, a question I don't know if you can help me, I set the resolution scale to the maximum and the game voted me a mistake and I could not enter even if I desistale and delete folders, I think that The settings are as they are, do you know a way to put the default video settings without entering the game?
transparency quality. if u dindt saw the difference, maybe u just dont know where to look at^^ I find ou for m+y self, the cast details looks very different if this setting is low. It's like casts looks like from olf game kinda, very low resolution. on lightnings, on lihtning cast animation above the character or fires on the floor and so on.
btw. you show so many settings, but u don't show a picture or ingame before and after, good guide would show difference and not just raw numbers, where most ppl even don't understand what they do! 😖
also: you cold go into game type slash fps and show changes from ur settings, from standard fps to new fps.
maybe the best way is, if ppl test all by their self! 🤓
and btw. with your hardware such low settings? I wondering ... o.O I play on modern pc, just with old GPU, R9 290 and it is still fine. settings between mid and max.

If I play the game windowed 1024x768 or similar, instead full-screen 1920x1080, this would give me a bit more fps, iirc. Would you agree?

My guess the reason is maybe he didn't show the actual gameplay that is why
I'm guessing it was due to him leading with "Turn on Windows Game Mode". While game mode does seem to kind of work (based on an old PC Gamer article), almost everyone on the planet views built in systems like 'game mode' as garbage. Smart to turn on for older systems, yes, but that doesn't mean most people aren't going to turn their noses up at it. I almost closed the video that minute, but decided to give him a chance, and as you know, it was a useful vid.
Games hard on my fps using a GeForce 770 and an i5 2550k says using 100% of my gpu under task manager gunna try these settimgs tonight im reLly suprised how bad my fps is i guess i need a new gfx card....
i enter games really slow and act switches are slow too is there any way yet to fix that ? got a 16gb ram so that shouldnt be the problem... still got an hdd could switching to a sdd help ?
Definitely changing your drive to an ssd will get you a huge boost in performance! I have one and loading screens just take a couple of seconds

Blizzard servers are dog water…this game runs so smoothly when I play offline …once I’m online I get stuttering…and it’s not my internet I’ll have 45ping and stutter..the servers are just gawd awful and I’m trynna find a temp fix
