Those minis are great for digging plumbing in, used them a few times in basement's when your only other option is a shovel. Lift it in with the big excavator and go to town.
After watching Chris the past 4-5 years with the amount of maintenance he does on his equipment, I have come to take for granted thinking that's what most people do with their equipment. But after seeing the stuff in that auction, holy shit! Most of it should be scrapped. I do understand that that equipment did not have just one person running it for it's entire life which makes a huge difference. But even still, how bout a little maintenance and common sense.
Some companies have full time mechanics. Many other don't . Many don't want to spend the money regular maintenance cost nor do they want to "waste " the operators time checking it daily or fixing things before a drip becomes Niagra Falls . Then when the machine is down for days or more they lose their minds. I worked for a building contractor that had equipment . They didn't want to pay for maintenance and really didn't want to pay for lost time and repairs . We had company pickups that everyone drove that had 20,000 on an oil change . At the time an oil change cost $20 . Spark plugs would be so bad the trucks would hardly run.
If you don't actually have any investment into it, boss wants production, people don't actually care how they treat stuff that doesn't belong to them...
There are a bunch of maintenance people who. Just don't care also. Some can do a whole preventative maintenance process faster than they can sign the complete part on it. They sign it and walk away and say they did it. I see it all the time even today I had an oiler say he had been heading a machine and I told him to make me happy and grease it right in front of me and tell me how long it will take to fill up. 30gallons later he said it leaks allot and I informed him the green grease that was laying around the machine under all the dirt we have not used that color in 5 years and he probably shouldn't come to work tomorrow. I see myself doing a bunch of work for then next few weeks.
@@richbutinski1367 this is exactly it. Most likely these low hour machines were purchased by big corporations that hire people to run equipment/ load out as many tons as possible and not waste time greasing. If the company always dumps equipment after a couple thousands hours at auction, who cares!
The 345c's and 345d's were the best machines made in my opinion!!! I run across them frequently that have 35 thousand plus hours on them and the motor has never been apart !!!
Totally love that Bergmann Off-Road truck! Would be a plus in your fleet for those times that you need to build the back slope for your pond damns. The bed is a bit short, although may be a plus in moving dirt to the site that you need it, since it pivots to the left or right. Thoroughly enjoyed the video, Chris!
You can buy a portable line boring and bore welding machine with a 50+ inch bar for less than $3000. After you've done your machines you have a side job opportunity. I wouldn't rent it out, people tend to break your stuff.
Golf cart - exercise adverted :) Thanks for sharing your fun vacation with friends and exploring what some will attempt to sell. Pity about the grader.
It's a darn shame you don't have anyone to talk to in your videos, you have a great sense of humor and it's pretty enjoyable getting to hang out with you and the boys. Great video Chris.
A couple of those excavators, aka farm machines, remind me of one I pass by a couple times a week. Drott, the farmer bought it to dig the basement of their new house, 4 years ago, and now she just sits by the road. Has an interesting tilt to one side, maybe 10 degrees, must have been fun digging that basement.
271 must have been a salt machine and found a sink hole. The half dump really looks neat for pond building. As the dam is thin and not turnaround. The 3000-hour machine can be fixed with a bushing. Odd that it is so bad. Bushing like a Pipe. outside to match the stick and inside the pin. Easy to make in a shop. Long stick might be nice at the end of the show. What a show.
Providing it hasnt eaten beyond the bushing , yes . If it has , bow it's a line bore and weld job , and that's a few more Ben's and down time to get back to new and tight . Most everything is fixable , but , you gotta pick your battles , especially with used equipment .
The Amish place down the road has one of those micro excavators for setting up sheds and doing fence work. It's actually light enough that they use a horse team to pull it around on a small trailer. Might be small but it's still faster than digging with a shovel and pick!
That D8 looked perfect, guess its kinda a exercise of what you know when its mostly used sales, maybe small excavators or other small equipment are ok for small organic farms which is a whole nother subject .
Watching from the UK. It's almost scary to see the state of some of these machines. Either no maintenance or maybe in places where they suffer from environmental damage. (salt water etc)
These are so much fun. Watching large men get into those itty bitty excavators was hilarious. Those things are ubiquitous. We have a James G. Murphy auction facility by us, only about an acre & a half and they have those things every day. Thanks for bringing us along, Chris. I enjoyed this.
15:38 = Bergmann-Dumper and these are actually pretty good and tough machines... you see them quite often here on construction sites, especially in tunneling and on subway construction projects, small and compact powerhorses, they exist with different options for tipping tho... the swiveling one is good for larger construction projects when it comes to infrastructure like sewersystems and suppyl lines in an open trench... as said, we see them quite often over here in Austria and Germany
The rusty 345 looks like 1 I saw on Beachcomber Island - they'd move ocean sand banks around to cover some rocky areas. It was a small island, the joke was they limit the No. of people on it so it didn't sink.
I hope you made sure DP wasn't there when you were playing with that Deere with the old floppy bucket, he gets nostalgic for the floppy bucket on the 120 deere he has. ;)
Man there was some nice equipment there that IR roller looked like a really nice machine and the pc 78 with over 5k hrs that was a clean machine to the 480 Volvo and that little dump truck with the swivel bed but the champion grader looked pretty nice to
That wheel packer makes me think of my tractor pulling days. They were at every event it seems like, some older than this, some even towed, but I guess they did the job.
Mike, you unloading your golf cart reminds me of when I was unloading my riding mower and the ramp kicked out. I landed on my back on the asphalt driveway and saw the mower coming straight at me. Just before it landed I pushed it off with my legs. Be careful, have fun, and God Bless.
Buyer beware, my word, after watching you over the years perform maintenance and up keep on machines, then to see some of the things you were showing, how in world did they ever get some of those machines to the auction? Thanks for the update and tour, enjoyed watching, appreciate your time.
Chris you should have bought the Deer instead of the 330, just think of the money you would save in quick discount and grading buckets. All you have to do is wait for the buckets to fall off without tool's 😂😂😂.
The switch at the seat is actually a mechanics switch as they call them, it won't cut power, but it stops the fuel, so you can spin the engine over without starting it to find a leak for example
Man, the Grader went quick !! went for 45 didn't it ... Oh well, may be you will find what your looking for down the road Chris !! When it's meant to be, it will happen... Great as always Man, Have a Great Evening, And , On too the Next !!
I have a case 980 tracthoe which still runs but I can't find parts for the left drive tract. So I'm going to try to rig something up so I can at least use it on my farm. At least. It has over 10,000 hrs on it but eig have 350 on the rebuild eig I don't use it too much but I miss using it
This means that there ought to be some of the goofiest outtakes made into shorts once again. 😂 Like "She's just one lever shake away from being Old Faithful" 🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely slammed some of those machine conditions haha.
I worked for a company that owned two Case backhoes while I worked there . I assumed Case got it's name because you had to put a case of oil\fluid in it every day .
🤔 Chris seemed awfully interested in that VOLVO Long-Reach 🤗
He has a love-hate relationship with Long Reach units in general
That little dump truck would be perfect for some of your pond projects.
That mini excavator looks perfect for replacing divots on the golf course 😂
I've never ever seen a lawnmower with a boom before! 🤔
Hey, those mini excavators are still better than running a shovel.
Those minis are great for digging plumbing in, used them a few times in basement's when your only other option is a shovel. Lift it in with the big excavator and go to town.

I almost plastered a LD18 sticker on that golf cart after dinner the other night!😂
Love watching your vacation adventures. Only issue is I watch you, DP and C&C so I get the story three times. Thanks for sharing.
I see it as a positive! It’s fun to compare the different views/edits. And DPs take long enough to come out that I think it’s a different trip…😂
That D8T is a mean looking machine straight out of a horror movie...
Favorites: mini-mini-excavator, mini-dump truck, Mike's "golf cart" and ramp system, "Superio" Volvo excavator (with rusted bumper). GREAT auction! Thanks for the tour! 👍😍❤
It's a new dance move - The Bucket Slop

Some drott machines actually had a leveling undercarriage. I've only seen one in person. If it sets long enough it will lean over to one side.

The ROPS on that farm machine excavator is a quality "Rusted Out Past Serviceable" option 😅

I always look forward to the auctions. Thanks for the tour Chris. 😀👍
That Mitsubishi excavator had Diesel Creek written all over it lol. Fun times at the auction for sure, always entertaining when you guys get together.
That was great! Love it when you guys go to the auctions. 👍🏻

Need to put BIG EYES and a SMILE on that cart! 😱😁🤪👍👍🇺🇸
With the cost of excavators & can only scratch my head in bewilderment at the lack of even simple greasing on some of the machines.
Watching from the UK. It's almost scary to see the state of some of these machines. Either no maintenance or maybe in places where they suffer from environmental damage. (salt water etc)

Chris I just love it when you and dirt perfect get together.never miss neither of your all.s videos
I always look forward to and enjoy the auction videos and joking around from both of you guys!!
Fair play for the frequency of the uploads, this is a good long one 👍👍👍
Y`all really had fun on this trip!!!
A rotating dump bed. That’s cool
@12:40 true lawnmower feeling!!!🤣😂
It’s too late for grease!!!!
Your drag line is in better shape than some of these.

Oof I can’t believe you did not come home with that 320!!! Sounded like a muscle car at startup… brup…brup…brup… that was a sweet machine!!!
Love the baby rotating dump truck

Run silent, run deep. But mostly RUN!!!
The paint was already running so just try not to look!
I hope you made sure DP wasn't there when you were playing with that Deere with the old floppy bucket, he gets nostalgic for the floppy bucket on the 120 deere he has. ;)
That little green mini-ex would make a dandy puddle dredger😂
THANKS!

Wonder how many of those hydraulic teaspoons will be there next year? You boys look like you had a great trip.
Boys and their toys... thanks Chris. Cheers
it wouod be so fun going to a show like this specially with these two
That wheel packer makes me think of my tractor pulling days. They were at every event it seems like, some older than this, some even towed, but I guess they did the job.
That little green mini you had ahold of is probably the one I just bought today. The book value on that one just went up $1000.
I know you're missing the weather here in Florida Chris.Thank's For your visit.
Jumper cables, gas and diesel. The necessities. ✌️🇱🇷
Always a good time at the auction! Have a good one Chris, take care and God Bless!!!❤😊

I love my 2000 PC78. Great to see a more modern version.
Yaaaaayyyy...it sometimes feels like I'm there . Cool stuff at those auctions .
Yeah that was a good one. Yeah the auctions are always fun. Too bad you couldn't find what you're looking for but next time. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Quite liked tagging a long as you enjoyed your time checking out things bro. So far nothing following you home. Safe travels. Ken.
Self leveling baby mini got me😂😂
Cool video. Enjoyed watching ✌️ 😎
I thought you would by that long reach pond skimmer for sure!
Thanks Chris, now i want a baby excavator 🤣
great video with all of you guys together,
Chris if you bought a mini excavator you could branch out in specializing in koi ponds. Gives you more options.

I don't think I'd be standing under that boom after seeing the condition of that pin, lol
I guess they excessively grease the joints so they don't have to fill the hydraulic systems up😂😂😂😂
On second thought maybe grease was an option instead of a priority 😂😂😂😂
I don’t think I’ve seen Chris do over an hour video before 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
