I had a good day yesterday in SoCal using a rotation of topwaters, jerkbaits and plastics. The pause on the retrieve seemed to be key whether on top or subsurface although yesterday they seemed to prefer the topwater disturbance. Will try these specific techniques next time out, whether Delta or elsewhere.

I just can't NOT set the hook. I've tried. Swing sets just don't work for me - I feel like I miss them. Plus, hook sets are fun! Nice video, Steve. Makes me so want to find some time to get on the water! Thanks for the video.

I really like the Tatula7ft.M1/4 to 3/3 oz 8-17 pound test. 30 or 40 pound braid with 5 ft of 10 pound mono. Lot's of fun.
