I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I'd suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

In the 50's my Dad worked a modest job, Mom stayed at home and raised the kids, and they lived a nice middle class lifestyle including owning a home. Nowadays both I and my partner works and can barely afford to make ends meet. Soon the kids and family dog will need to work to keep this household going. It's the destruction of the American dream right before our eyes.

The coming of a Civil War is never a pleasant thought. It will set brother against brother and is possibly the cruellest of wars. If where we are is because we acquiesced in an attempt, a noble attempt, to avoid conflict then it is understandable. However the path to freedom is not just peace as your enemy will do all that they can to maintain control and that may and has erupted into armed conflict. Yes we can look back through history and find the lessons, the important part is can we learn from them?

I have been predicting a civil war in this country for some time. I have been studying the previous civil war in England which was led (eventually) by Oliver Cromwell. Although some of the causes were religiously motivated, the main reason was that those in power , and at that time was largely the monarchy, when Charles 1st would dissolve parliament, several times, and would not listen to the people. There are many similarities from that time to what we experiencing today with the current goverment . It didn't end well for Charles 1st !

The understanding and intelligence supporting "you have to earn privilege, rights, benefits", has been lost on most of the current younger British generations and also with most of the ever growing immigrant population. I never thought that Mr.Lee was the type to make up fictional stories and he always had a kind of aristocratic style about himself, a true gentleman in every sense of the word.

He was also the only cast member of lord of the rings to have met JRR Tolkien and he’s been a fan of Tolkien since he released the first book in 1954

He certainly was a man of many talents.
I think I watched a UA-cam documentary about him a couple of years ago and I was astonished at his achievements.

I too was a youngster, but talking to my dad know one could get work because all the buildings sites had to close due to no electricity, he said had to go out totting for scrap metal, and this was in London in the 70s
