Scott steiner was way ahead of his time and the originator of "suplex city" and a unique talent.. Rick was the ultimate underdog and very much underrated.
I hate interviewers that just ask questions and don't listen to the answer. Rick said that his brother attacked Bill Watts! Instead of the interviewer asking more about that and going into more detail he was onto the next question.
@@kentbarger5021 I''m just talking about the half a dozen questions he asked. Could've been 10 times longer than this easily with a bit more active listening and having a real conversation with Rick.
@@TheUltimateWriterNZ yes I know what you're saying I'm saying he probably went on longer but had to edid the video so we just get bit's and piece of it
The Steiner Brothers , in their prime, were one of the 5 best tag teams of all time. They should be in the WWE HOF, but between Scott's history of trash talking (of the McMahon family) and what Rick is saying here, it just may take a while before they make it in...
Rick and Scott used to literally beat the crap out of guys out back for fun. The only guy both of them shut up and left alone was Meng and both said he was the one guy they would never fuck with. Everyone else, they fucked with regularly but yeah, they would duct tape guys to the table and stick shit like pencils and car keys up their asses in the locker room.
I’m surprised he wasn’t given another wwe run; He was actively wresting in wcw until the very end and was a big name. Scott obviously had his run too. I wish they asked him if he was asked to work there.
@GRap TheGOAT I disagree, I recently rewatched the last 3 months of Nitro and wcw PPVs and he had great matches against DDP & Booker T (amongst others). Nash was “lazy” but he still drew and was anticipated by fans, he also knew when he returned to wwe he wouldn’t get away with taking a backseat. Frankly almost all wcw stars were “past their peak”, as was The Undertaker in 1999. That didn’t make them bad or mean they were finished (look at Hogan!)
@@SRPC21 I mean, if you’re saying the character of the Undertaker in its original iteration was past its peak in 1999, then I can see that argument (and apparently WWE felt similarly considering they went with the American badass angle not soon after). If you’re saying Mark Calaway was past his peak as a wrestler in 99, I’d have to pretty strongly disagree. I don’t think Taker really peaked as a performer until like, 2011 or so. He was pretty steady as a top guy who could go with anyone and at the very least carry his load in main event caliber matches for about 20 years. The Undertaker’s last years in WWE were, to me at least, so bad that they did what should have been impossible; they left a tarnish (albeit an extremely small one) on his legacy, but I think we’re selling him short if we say he had already peaked by 1999.
He was injured to shit in 99 and breaking down. Could hardly work. Hence all the ministry stuff and the tags with big show before taking months off. Think he's alluding to that.
As a former college wrestler if I had a time machine I would love to see the Steiners in their prime wrestle a collegiate match vs guys like Mike Rotunda, Bob Backlund & Kurt Angle.
The Steiner brothers when I was a kid they could wrestle anybody and have a great match. They could work and the had these wrestling backgrounds. So you know these guys were the real deal in the ring. Go back and look at their matches in Wcw and wwf. Just incredible.
Yea they're my favorite. I think they're better than LOD. I know LOD were huge in the 80s but in shoot the Steiners would take them down easy, they had a real amateur background
Ric Flair was the man the only man to hold NWA and WWF letter World belt, Steiner's great tag team, and good singles, Flair had good matches with both.
Grew up in the Tri-City area of MI...Saginaw near Bay City so naturally The Steiners are home town favorites so to speak. Been a fan of them since grade school & IMO are right at the top of greatest tag team of all time side by side with the Road Warriors. I mean who is better or as great as the Steiners & Warriors?
He’s talking about Mel Phillips. Black ring announcer who, along with Terry Garvin and Pat Patterson, were investigated for sexual acts with minors. Pat was supposedly cleared of any wrongdoing but, yeah, Mel had a thing with feet.
Sounds like Nails wasn't having that butt play... why don't more people talk about THAT!?!??! To cover up the ringboy/BATBOY scandal, the "steroid scandal" happened...
Scott was Supposed to Win The WWF World Title at Wrestlemania IX, but Vince Decided to go different direction! If you look at Scott Steiner Matches he had with Ludvig Vorga, and the promo's for the Match, looks like Scott was gonna get serious singles Push! I think Scott would have been excellent WWF Champion!
@The Ninth Heart dude your tripping balls. The Steiners are definitely up there but theres a reason why Arn and Tully are considered the gold standard for tag wrestling.
@The Ninth Heart oooooh so we're going by drawing power as to measure how good a tag team is at tag team wrestling? By that logic wouldn't the road warriors be number 1 since they drew everywhere they went being THE only tag team to have higher placement on the marquee then the "main eventer" and wouldn't that mean Hulk Holgan is the greatest wrestler ever since he draw the biggest numbers? I can guarantee you that your opinion is in the minority, most fans will agree that the Brain busters are the far more superior team in terms of actual tag team WRESTLING. Theres a reason why the Revival is called the revival and its not cause of the steiners
@The Ninth Heart Sids mic skills are severely underrated, he flubbed sometimes but his intensity was unmatched, and he actually did cut some GREAT promos(patyicularly, pre-last WcW run) like the one when he returned as HBK's bodyguard. He was good enough for him to do all that shit you mentioned, and both the WWF, and WcW both took him back and made him the champ.
Had they come in earlier I think they would of been better off. They could of worked with teams like Demolition, Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, Rockers, LOD etc.. 93 to 96 wasn't the best time for tag teams in the WWF.
The Steiners were far superior in wrestling skills that's obvious but the Road Warriors were meaner tougher stronger more dominant and could give better promos which is also a big part of wrestling they rule tag team wrestling for a decade and we're tag team champions in the awa.nwa. wcw. Wwf. And IWGP Champs. Steiner's best wrestling tag team ever Road Warriors most dominant tag team ever.

Rick is a pretty damn "well off" individual down south with Real Estate & other smart decisions. I love to see any of "the boys" make it out alive.
This was very timely thank you

Great to see these legends again keep up the good work and keep em coming 👍
Defiantly Worth watching and especially with the wcw wrestlers
They actually used wrestling moves ,unlike anything these days.
Yup, because most had real wrestling backgrounds and were legit tough guys.
