"Like You Do" has to be one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard.
I sense no cap
he literally cried
This track within the 24 hours of its release has made me cry 3 times. Ex left me recently but shit this song makes me feel, one of my favorite tracks to release this year!
I reacted the same way he did
Facts
it does have a great universal appeal, but it doesn’t feel forced. it all feels like joji.
i rlly thought eggman commented for a second
hanif. same lol
fakethano
falsethony faketano
Wise words my man
Like You Do ... hits different. The rawness and vulnerability he shows in his tone. That song is just special. You know what that is? growth.
Fax bro absolute masterpiece dis album wasss
It sounds like sad christmas music and it sounds great
This album had be crying, laughing, dancing, and just loosing myself in the music. It was amazing
Why do people like this album its ok. Like I was so disappointed in this album. The singles hyped this album and I thought joji was doing something different that was good. Sadly you go from a song like Run which is a master peice to a song like upgrade or pretty boy which seems like he doesn't even care.
@@lucashernandez7861 because some of us are old joji fans like chloe burbank era, and he's going back to his old sound which we like and not sounding mainstream like his singles
maneme chef I like both how I look at it is if I can vibe to the music I like it it’s not that deep I don’t care about production vocals or anything . Good music to me is good music to me
@@lucashernandez7861 k u have to keep in mind the singles he released were more pop-y while most of the songs he makes are lo-fi and rbsoul. plus he enjoys making less effort songs for fun, like just cause u don't like it doesn't mean you have to down the album for everyone else
maneme chef perfectly stated. Love his progression and old music mix on this album. Some songs are on the weaker side but you cannot deny the Chloe Burbank sounding tracks like Normal People and Pretty Boy
Joji’s music is the type you hear to go to sleep or get high to or play when your girl cheated on you
too accurate
Damn, this perfectly sums it up
or vibe to while riding a car or something and staring out a window.
Broooo i went to sleep so fast with this new album! Its so relaxing
Or a nightly drive with friends or your girl/guy
Ew is so underrated. That violin at the end, that piano, god bless Joji, What a wonderful artist
best song on the album
I love that song so much. I listen to it on repeat
my fav of nectar
upgrade, afterthought and nitrous is so underrated

Thanks here's your reddit award (I've been searching a gold or award emoji but I couldn't find one )
@@eversince. i appreciate the effort
The Goat
This album did it for me, i no longer think of joji as an artist who used to do youtube, they are two seperate people now, hes officaly shed that skin in my eyes and hes officaly become just joji to me.
honestly though
@Robe yeah same lol
He made it. He absolutely made it. From his Filthy Frank/Pink Guy persona, to his Joji/George Miller part in his life. He got out of the game of UA-cam before it stagnated completely and got his career on track is so respected. I'm very proud of him.
One of the only albums I’ve listened to where my high level of expectation and excitement matched the quality. A 10/10, front to back album for me.
Same! I was kind of worried because I had high expectations for the first Greta Van Fleet album and it turned out subpar so I'm happy this one met and exceeded my high expectations.
You should give it was divine by Alina baraz a try
Granted I dont listen to joji on the norm at all, but tbh it was not as good as I expected after hearing those amazing singles, but even then I love the album. Could've improved tho and def had like 2 maybe 3 fillers
Garrett Gee i think the singles have more of a universal appeal, while the songs he didnt release first was more experimental and real..
Bro no way you think High Hopes is a banger... that song has got to be one of his worst songs in his whole discography
Imagine having a Joji and Weeknd collab.
That would truly be insane
Imagine
Been picking up Weeknd vibes from this album. I need it hahahaha
i love you😅
That's funny
Because joji filmed "party monster", for the weekend lol
Yes, Run is probably his best song yet. Yes, Sanctuary, Daylight also fucking great songs. But Like You Do is something really special.
Album of the year for me. I've never felt the way I felt while listening to this album. I've been anticipating this since it was announced and then delayed, going in with stupidly high expectations kinda scared be but when I threw this on at midnight my life kinda changed. Very corny but I've never felt this way while listening to an album. I just felt like I was floating.
agreed
it felt like christmas when i was listening to it. watching this reaction has been an emotional experience bc he says it better than me but i feel the same
After hours is album of the year
Mitch Orcholski i 100% agree. this was def an emotional experience, but after hours was like a movie transferred into an album and you felt like you were there with him
@@mitcho5452 i'd say these are tied for me. coming from a weeknd fan, i adored after hours but this is amazing
Joji really had an Upgrade (no pun intended). Better production, vocals, just a great album all around.
Except some of those features. Like Lil Yachty, and Omar Apollo.
Exactly.Thats the problem. His old stuff is much better than this new album because it was lo-fi,raw,self produced and much more sad and emotional. For example his “In Tongues” EP i think is better that this whole album because is was 100% made by him,no features ,no professional producers just him making music from his pure heart.
@@torokdavid9746 finally someone that gets what i've been saying.
TooDamnRetarded you must not be looking hard enough lol. Have the Joji fanbase is still hung up on two soundcloud loosies from 2016
MUIE ABI TALENT you do realize that In Tounges was still part of 88 Rising and was produced by a professional producers. If you want to compare you should have said Chole Burbank. I do like his music and he does have great voice. But I prefer his older stuff better although he's improved since then.
I feel that Joji's songs are like diner food, you love it in the third bite
underrated comment

Jon I feel so honoured to be part of such a positive community, and it’s all through you. I’ve had a rough couple years recently but you never fail to put a smile on my face. Thank you so much for being there for me without even knowing each other, you are completely right that it is a privilege for you to be able to connect with us. I can’t thank you enough for cheering me up throughout the years. Honestly, thank you.
I feel the same man, I love Jon and the this positive community
I second what this man is saying. Jon provides such a positive, toxic-free environment. He gives any artist a chance and is honest about his opinions. Even when he doesn't like a track, he describes his displeasure but still respects the artist and their work. I'm so glad I found him man.
Jon has a way with making it seem as if you’ve been friends with him for years
Truueeeeee............
expectation: high
delivery: *overload*
Fr, legit wasn’t expecting to get hit so hard with the first track, joji over killed on the album, and it’s a huge improvement from BALLADS1
"Pretty Boy" sounds like a throwback to Pink Guy
the music video too has that little tinge of strange that makes you think of Frank
Seeing Jon cry listening to Like you do might just be the purest moment I’ve seen on UA-cam all year. Fml
When you are so early there aren't any timestamps .
DOIN THEM IN 10 MINUTES
@@mejsn good luck

Mejsn999 😳
Mr. hollywood is produced with kenny beats which is a combo I didn't know I needed lol
They’ve done quite a bit together I’m pretty sure
Nirvan Sircar Kenny Beats said last night in his stream that, that song was made after “The Cave” episode and it’s their first time making something together, the chorus was done in 1 take, they haven’t done much, but they both plan on working together again, shows their talent to be able to make a song like that after just meeting! I can’t wait for more :)
@@TristanTakaTv when I heard the beat kenny made with deb never I knew he would he perfect for joji
@@nirvansircar2823 most notably flintstones freestyle...lol
This album really sounds carefully crafted not a second wanted to be wasted, great reaction loved it
i really like the track "normal people" mostly in context with joji and rei brown being childhood friends. they had a track before called "once in a while" which they released as a collab group i guess called Green Echo.
Wow that is a cool af fun fact 🥺🥺 thank you!! 😢
Why is Tick Tock sooooo good?!
The samples throughout the song remind me of his old music
Possibly my favorite song in the album
Phoenix Pilot I feel like tick tock would of fit better with Ballads1
I think tik tok is bottom 3 of the new ablum
It's an old song, he produced it back in Pink Guy days; he said in an interview that he wondered if it would stand out
@@ckboy023 can you send a link where he said it
Imagine Mac Miller on Like You Do. Oh my.
I lost it at that song, with Mac on it would make it 25/10
A mac miller and joji collab wouldve been really good
they could have made a song called "The Millers"
Will Ford We’re the Millers 😂😭
George and mac miller
Realest react channel out there
Okay
You mentioned some people having a connection to the album in a weird emotional way and that is ME ALL THE WAY, ew gave me GOOOOOOSbumps. I don't like house music but he even got me to enjoy "your man" which is very house-ey. love the album, love the reaction 💜
Like you said. Some people are going to be attached to this album. It’s me. I’m some people.
Same, man. Same
same same
Normal People and Afterthought are my underrated faves off this album. Ew and Like you do are up there as well
Most definitely. Afterthought hits different.
Yess finally someone says something about Normal People 🤍
While some of the verses weren’t my favorite, I don’t think there was a single hook I didn’t love.
This album is really great
same for me too!!
This is my album of the year. This was SO much better than anything we have heard from Joji. Super proud of him as an artist, a lot of growth right there !
Fr man I’ve been a fan of joji since the filthy frank days but this album ain’t it man and it most certainly ain’t joji. Some of his vocals are amazing and some of the production is decent but to me it just sounded basic and if anything a bit boring... definitely not worth album of the year but I’m proud of him for getting here and excited to see where he’ll get.
Oli Perry I respect your opinion but I'm gonna stick with mine, this is the best album Joji ever put out.
FlameX1 ever? I respect yours to man but you can’t say this is anywhere near Ballads1? Fr?
Oli Perry yeah Ballad 1 was a perfect album but Nectar is on another level. I listened to Ballad 1 so much that I've gotten kinda bored from it (no offense) so now this new album is the best for me currently. But as time goes on I'm gonna get bored from this album too just because I listen to it too much 😂 ( sorry if you can't understand my broken English)
Oli Perry ballads1 for real the best album of 2018
when he said "lil yoyi" i felt that
lmao
This says allot about our society bro
@@richie1519 bro
BALLADS1 really sounds like Joji was trying to find his sound, this album is where he refined it!
I feel like he was just in a different mindspace than now, but I totally get what you're saying
To be honest after binging this album “YOUR MAN” is the perfect ending tack for a masterpieces of an album that “NECTAR” is.
I thought that was like the worst song to end the album with, feel like it should’ve been Like you Do
@@_.Dylan._ I meant in a way that Joji ended the album in a up beat way to lighten the mood that has been set by the album throughout the tracks in a simple way 'it lightens the depressing vibes''
DEV ARORA
But Like you do already lit up the depressing vibes because Joji is finally happy and he found love
It's just an opinion tho
@@_.Dylan._ Your Man was a pretty good ender especially since the previous 2 being Reanimator was chaotic sounding, and Like You Do before this was in a slower type of style, it wouldn't really do it for me if it ended just at Like You Do. I'd probably go, "Oh, that's pretty good, but the end wasnt strong enough."
Once Your Man started in the album it woke me up and the upbeat yet not chaotic beat and its slower descent until it ended gave me sounded and felt right to me.
Tbh, Gimme Love probably would also be a good album finisher, maybe even better than Your Man or Like You Do would especially with the beautiful end part with Joji's vocals and the instrumental, with Your Man in the middle.
But hey, that's just what I think.
joshhx
I get what you're saying and also damn Gimme Love would be an awesome ender I never thought about that
I need to hear a Joji x The Weeknd collab
Joji x The Weeknd x Childish Gambino. They're gonna make the perfect song lol
This is probably my favorite album from this year
It's gorgeous
Really happy for all the success from him
I always took the album cover of B1 as being almost like his front. The front he puts on to pretend that everything is a joke, but actually if you listen to the album, behind this red eyes is someone hurting. Especially when you see some of the interviews shortly after he packed in the FF channel, it seems like he was suffering in silence for a while but he couldn't show that to people so he just put on that happy face.
That's just my interpretation anywho
Me: *kinda hoping its not that good so I'm not tempted to buy the vinyl*
Me after listening: "Sigh... where's my wallet?" 😔
What I'm feeling too, especially since it's so expensive 😔
Gonna have to buy a record player aswell
i have been waiting for this all day!
This is what reaction channels should be a full breakdown and discussion coming from pure knowledge of the scene not just a quiet stare into the camera till the video is over elite elite channel , keep going Jon !
This album is just pure beautiful 😭, the delay was worth it honestly
This really is THAT album. 777/10
I’m a huge fan of Joji as he is my favourite musician and has a big influence on my own music, and it’s been so interesting seeing his progression from Pink Guy and FF (which was also amazing) to where he is now. This album definitely didn’t disappoint, some of my favourite musical moments on this album were high notes on Ew, second half of Gimme Love, chorus of Sanctuary, the instrumental of Normal People, BENEE’s harmonies on Afterthought, the first half of Pretty Boy and pretty much the whole track “Like You Do”. Great review!
I’m so proud of George with this album, everything sounds amazing and like Joji not some generic sound. He’s really been my favorite new artist this year, and I can’t wait to see what else he’s gonna make in the next few years. This is a 10/10
“Like you” had me crying at 4 in the morning
had me crying at 1 in the morning
had me crying at 3:00 pm
Joji is such a listenback artist. I feel every time I listen to his music again I enjoy and respect it more, I am able to catch so much more nuance than the previous listens. It's beautiful and complex.
Listen to Joji's "in tongues" project. It has his older stuff 10/10 would not dissapoint!
This is the first time i really fell in love with an artist. 🥺 joji’s music and lyrics can give so many emotions. His music videos have hidden messages, the style for the album nectar where each one is connected and they tell a story. His acting and unique presence 👏🏼❤️❤️❤️
Love the new editing!
Jon Denton be spitting out quality videos for us day in day out. Thanks!
Good job on video your channel is super underrated keep up the good work you’ll make it soon
9:00 Yup. Nectar is deffo that album for me
When he said some people would be attached to this record like for life, I felt it. It's the first album of Joji that I encountered as I just know him from this era when I've watched Sanctuary MV, and this album holds a special place to my heart. I'm also digging his discography, and I'm sure it'll be a good experience.
your reactions are the best bro, i rlly like your videos
Your commentary on the album covers gave me shivers, you're sooo right. I wish you'd also react to some of his very first songs, there are some amazing ones among them.
please react to the new spillage village project!! like so jon can see this
This Album came out the same month I broke up with my ex girlfriend of 4 years. When he said that there would be songs that would resonate extremely deeply, he was right. Even now, listening to these tracks, there’s a deep sadness in my heart. It makes me so happy nonetheless, knowing how much this album helped me out.
Hope your better nowadays bro!
I must say Jon, idk if your music knowledge was always like this but its great to see how much more detail you go into when talking about the music, rock reacts was very much a simple reaction channel which everyone seemed to enjoy, but seeing your progression on this channel has been great, keep it up
Yeah I got attached to it and now i listen to it a million times a day
Hey Jon, looking forward to watching this reaction I loved the album any chance we get a reaction to spilligion by spillage village (rap group with JID, Earthgang etc.) Was very good on first listen and was quite different than a lot of rap music thats dropped recently.

You should listen to his In Tongues EP. It came out before Ballads 1. Its only like 5 songs but it's pretty good.
Love your content, been watching for about half a year. Love the album.
Keep it up Jon!! Keep grinding
Afterthought is by far my favourite track on the Album which is really hard to accomplish given that the other songs are also all incredibly good
That face when the high note in ew resonates with your soul.. i felt that
I loved the video man! You treasured every song and delivered a perfect response to all of it.
So excited for this! Absolutely love this album so far
Feel like this album is underrated. When it first came out, I think people were expecting a different record when we got Singles like "Run", "Daylight" and "Sanctuary". These had very mainstream/stadium anthem pop vibes.
But when the album came out, it had a lot of stripped down lo-fi tracks, that were carry overs from Jojis early albums/sound. But the album really does age like fine wine. Even his more stripped down stuff is so achingly beautiful, and the whole album takes you on an emotional journey.
I liked the record when it came out. Now I absolutely love it.
I never thought I'll ever be listening to Joji but it seems like a good listen.
I loved this reaction, happy to subscribe

Loved this whole reaction by the way, as always. So on point and so detailed. Amazing work!
Fun Fact: Joji like to make a lot of his instrumentals on garage band so that's why a lot of the instrumentals on ballads 1 felt very simplistic
RAMBO THE WEEKND RAMBO THE WEEKND RAMBO THE WEEKND. And the other 2 Tiller tracks as well while you're at it.

Thanks for the consistency JD
