You're establishing a relationship with this company. Say yes to every opportunity. We are in a world where no one wants to work. If he knows you're reliable, you'll be the one he calls first in the future. You should have a minimum guarantee for your time. Just my 2 cents. That's how I operate and I'm always busy with work. Keep up the great content also!! 💪🏼
my dad does excavation one of th’e best bobcat skid steer operators in los Angeles county and he’s always told me to never go into a job thinking about the money. Think about the job that the client is happy with what he paid for.
My skidsteer guy that did my work I paid 450 per/day but the work is probably 2-5 hours tops and he's approx 17 miles away from the site. If you are going to get into more delivery, a sml dumper single axle NON-CDL ( aka as Class 6 rated ) would be ideal. You could also used that to pull your trailer just stay at 26001 or less. You can get these used in OK or N.TX for under 30K with low miles.
Double edge sword here you told him you would be there so he probably stopped calling around looking for an operator….. But totally understand the cost to run equipment…… It’s just an opportunity to show you’re a great person and will stand by your word. Just gotta weigh your options / opportunities / and $$ Take care
Check around see what other people charge for skid steer plus a minimum of so many hours they charge hundred dollars a hour up here the concrete you got up here it's recycled concrete and if you deliver material to people get enough to make it worth your time you going to have to set back and figure your worth you will raise your prices don't worry about getting mad they can't get mad cause they are taking advantage of you you will learn when you figure it's a business not a charity the guy from jack of all trades charges. More cause he knows his worth and I comment on his page also i ran a trucking company for 55 years you set your price and stick to it if you do any work for the hurricane cleanup that pays federal money good money you work on that you can make in a month then for six months worked on federal jobs up here triple pay are better have a discussion with your dad so you both be on same page old saying means he is changing same as you the man up north 12:51
You have to have minimum for delivery and per mile after so many miles away from your start point. And also a minimum 3 hour charge. So say $150.00 equipment delivery. 3 hour minimum work charge. That's $300.00 dollars at your rate guaranteed.

Lol you are learning man! If it's not enough money let it go! If you are too cheap it will bite you eventually man.
It’s not a bad thing to lose a little to make a lot more in the future.
Im glad you’re realizing your worth 50 an hour with your skid is crazy that guy is paying his laborer maybe 20-25 an hour without equipment
I agree. I run my mini skid for more than that..

Find out what your competitors charge too.
Charge more per hour, say $80.00 an hour.
I agree and I might even have to charge more
