wow you kids are triggered and salty lmao, get a clue the dreamcast got owned by every other consoles at the time, do your homework now, make your mom proud!
Grigori Rasputin do your homework as well buddy, the only reason the dreamcast got "owned" was because it didn't have a DVD player and everyone just had to watch the matrix and the ps2 was the cheapest alternative at the time.
I feel so old. He’s celebrating the ten year anniversary of the console in this video and all I can think of right now is how ten years ago was the launch of PS4 and XBONE. That’s how long it’s been since this video came out and I still remember watching it like it was a few months ago.
The Dreamcast was Without doubt the most fun I've ever had with any console. Had so many great games for it back in the days. Was a very sad day when Sega gave up on it. So many great memories. Soul calibur. Shenmue. Power stone. Trickstyle...Yep trickstyle! :-) was one of the early games. Had some excellent soundtracks. And played well too.
And I love it more every year. I will always remember my first online experience with PSO. Best gaming night ever. Im also gonna play D2 this weekend, lots of games that I still haven't played. Finished Shenmue 2 two months ago (I waited 15 years since I completed Shenmue 1, my old DC stopped working had to rebuy it). Amazing experience even at this time. Dreamcast was a gem.
Playing Soul Calibur on my Sega Dreamcast was pure enjoyment. This little console kicked ass and it really is a shame that so much potential went unfulfilled.
This is an awesome video game console. I've never had the Dreamcast, and I still don't, but this review is still fun to watch. That keyboard looks like something for Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME and XP. You can also use a keyboard on a Nintendo Wii, except you'll just have to barrow a USB 2.0 keyboard from your computer or in your backup computer accessory collection.
dont know if you guys cares but if you're bored like me atm then you can watch all of the new movies on instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my brother for the last few weeks =)
I probably will eventually get one, from what I hear it was a real hardcore gamer's console and wasn't promoted as an entertainment machine for casuals like the PS2 was...I guess one might say Sony Ponies killed the Dreamcast.
@@PaperBanjo64 A lot of people have started saying the Dreamcast was the last “gamer’s” console and I couldn’t agree more! Sega was more concerned with making great games and revolutionizing the games industry, especially with SegaNet.

It's pretty funny hearing about the year 1999 and 9.9.99. I just got a Sega Dreamcast with a couple of controllers at a thrift store for $19.99 and it works great. So many nines.
Know Im probably speaking to the nostalgia crowd with this, but damn I feel old with this one. Saw the videos were coming out again and had to come back to this one since it was stuck in my mind. Literally remember watching this after football practice when it came out since I had been watching you for a year at this point when I discovered UA-cam. Grew up off N64 and always loved classic games, along with the modern game reviews at the time when it was pioneer territory. Brings me back to that time. Was waiting for ODST and MW2 to come out, and these videos always helped me pass the time as a 14 year old. Truly miss this age of UA-cam, but for how this website and the world as a whole is now, that magic will probably never be brought back. Keep on trucking brother. At least you have your Sega Saturn now.
My favorite game of all time for the Dreamcast was Sonic Adventure 1. The only complaint that I have about the Dreamcast is that there is no reset button on the console. I look forward for the Dreamcast 2 to be powered by Windows 10.
Dude, I LOVE the Dreamcast, it's my second favorite console after PS2, Dreamcast was my first childhood console, and I'm glad to know that there are still people on this planet who love the Dreamcast 👌 Now I have to go, I'm gonna make some Crazy Money, Ya Ya Ya Ya Ya 🤘🤘🤘
Dreamcast gets an unfair bad rap, but there were some damn good games on it. Sonic Adventure, Dead or alive 2, Rayman, and some good racing titles too.
Christopher Carrasco that's just a rumor, plus sega aren't even planning on making a console because they are having financial problems and are losing the trust of their fans like crazy
Christopher Carrasco i believe what your talking about is Sega's new ARCADE board which is similar to a home console but you know used for ARCADE machines which Sega still makes. I believe the board is based on the one used in the Dreamcast the Naomi just much more advanced.
I finally managed to get one off eBay after being tired of the new generations being uber expensive and having as little interesting software titles to choose from as one could only think of. I'm really excited for it cuz' it always has been my dream to one of of these devices.
I was the first one to own one back in 99 in my class and it was totally Progress! The graphics where awesome and I miss my Dreamcast like a long lost friend. It was amazing!
I know right! King of fighters evolution has a great mix of 2D sprites and 3D backgrounds compared to King of fighters 99 for PS1. Also the first 2K on the system beats all the face textures and animations on the PS2 titles (problably because they didn't put that much effort into the future games for PS2).

Just bought a used system at a local movie/music/game shop. The unit is in good shape and worked just fine as soon as I plugged it in and started playing Sega Rally. The controller did not have the VMU, so I ordered one off Amazon. I am not a big fan of the controller and I think maybe it could of been one reason people did not buy the Dreamcast at the time, because the controller looked too big and strange looking compared to the Playstation controller, which is almost perfect IMHO. But now I have been using it, it isn't that bad. It is unfortunate that the Dreamcast did not do better in sales. It is an excellent system with huge selection of games and it proved that Sega should of continued in making game consoles.
My favorite Sega Dreamcast game I like to Play on my favorite was Sonic adventure & Sonic adventure 2 & Crazy taxi & Marvel vs Capcom 2 & Mortal kombat Gold & Sonic shuffle
I think the worst decision Sega made with the DC was rushing the development and release. Still the best Sega console ever and the most underrated console of all.
I heard it's still possible to play online games like Phantasy Star Online even though the servers are down and that fans have made their own servers. Is that true and how would you go about doing that? I'm thinking of buying a Dreamcast, so I'm still learning about the system. I've also heard about homebrew games still being made for the system. Where can I buy these games and do I have to mod the console to be able to play these games?
If you think tracking down a DC Broadband adapter, then sure. However, I've played Phantasy Star Portable 2 and it makes PSO look dated. I suggest you try out Phantasy Star Online 2.
Brandon Whittaker There are still private servers for many online Dreamcast games, especially PSO, but I think you might be better off with newer versions of PSO, like the GC one of Blue Burst on PC
Dreamcast VMUs showing your health heartbeat in Resident Evil is top tier immersion. Yes you can always see your health from your posture and the heartbeat is no more precise but sometimes you're at green caution or full health and there's no posture for telling the difference. I’m still getting SEGA Dreamcast I’m going to get that video game console for my birthday this year I’m going get some 2 lonely SEGA Dreamcast games I’m going to get sonic adventure & early 2000s arcade game WWF royal rumble for SEGA Dreamcast this is exactly same game engine as WWF smackdown 2 know your role on PlayStation game console
I’ll try to get Sonic adventure 2 on SEGA Dreamcast & Sonic shuffle & crazy taxi & Marvel vs CAPCOM 2 & Mortal kombat gold & Star Wars episode 1 racer for SEGA Dreamcast game system & SEGA Dreamcast came after the 16 bit SEGA genesis & the 16 Bit SEGA nomad portable of SEGA Genesis & the 8 bit SEGA game gear video game handheld device & the SEGA Dreamcast that would be the Last SEGA game console for years & you know SEGA decided stop making their own Video game consoles anymore they done for the day & SEGA Dreamcast’s primary competitor it’s PlayStation 2 & Nintendo GameCube their are 2 main primary competitors in console war in video game history
I got my Dreamcast Brand new at Electronics Botique... I think sometime late 2001- 2002 for $59.99 . Got Marvel vs Capcom 2 for $9.99 and Crazy Taxi $6.99 to go with it. Awesome !
Oh god, the Dreamcast is a console ahead of its time. So many cool features that makes it so unique. A bunch of awesome games were released on it but sadly, it never survive the onslaught of PS2. I never own one but i can imagine how awesome it is for a person to have one in their library. The Sega Dreamcast deserve so much more attentions and i wish Sega make a mini version.
Bought one of these last year. Never grew up with it, but I just decided to buy it. And now it proudly sits in my gaming corner, along with the rest of my classic gems from the past. I grew up with the Genesis for a little while, so I just thought "SEGA has never let me down before; besides Sonic xTreme not being released of course" and bought this. It was really fun, though I only bought three games for it; one of which didn't even work that I got from Amazon. Though aside from that, it's cool.
What a great console. I had one when they first came out. It's such a shame it never took off. I loved the internet capabilities, the games and the VMU. Such quality.
One of the most important game consoles in history, the Dreamcast broke so many barriers it was unbelievable. Things like PSN and Xbox Live wouldn't have existed if not for this system. Long live the Sega Dreamcast.
A great, criminally underappreciated console. In my opinion no other games console had such a consistently great catalogue of games. Crazy Taxi, Shenmue, Power Stone 1 and 2, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Quake 3, Jet Grind Radio, Ready 2 Rumble, Dead or Alive 2, a ton of King Of Fighers games, House Of The Dead 2 and a fuck load of Japanese style shoot 'em ups. I'm still holding out for the Dreamcast 2!
Japanese Dreamcast was released on my birthday. Along with Bruce Lee and Jimi Hendrix. When I'm celebrating birthday, I'm actually celebrating theirs. Way more important than mine :D

The dreamcast 2 is called the original xbox.

It actually makes sense since from what I heard, Microsoft helped Sega produce the Dreamcast.

actually the xbox was inspired by the dreamcast
The PS2 is the best selling 6th gen console, but not the best 6th gen console in my opinion.

Watched this video when I was 10 now I’m 21 and just bought one. Quite a good console
BEST REVIEW EVERRR Multi-tap was annoying if PS2 had 4 ports on it with the Fat PS2 version it would've been soooo much better.
So glad I bought a DC back in its heyday. Still have it and some of the best games to ever grace it. Good times!
Got me one for this coming December I'm new to sega consoles so I'm happy to be getting one
Classic Game Room, AVGN, Screwattack, ah...the good ol days
Heck yeah! Actually GOOD UA-cam gaming channels!
Mark, wishing for you, and all your subscribers and viewers a Happy Dreamcast Day this 2013!

I wish there was another camera recording you recording this! Your hands are hilarious!!!!! good vid btw.
Man i shed a tear man I love the dreamcast the fond memories playing shenmue, pso online, jet set radio and soulcalibur just perfect.
Im gunna pick up a Dreamcast pretty soon, this console looks awesomely built and the controllers look soooo boss. :)
What a great console. I had one when they first came out. It's such a shame it never took off. I loved the internet capabilities, the games and the VMU. Such quality.
Happy 14th Birthday Sega Dreamcast! I got mine on 9/9/99 and now on 9/9/13 I'm still playing it! Thank you SEGA!
I'm still holding out for the Dreamcast 2!
we got this when everyone else had PS1s... Man it was waaaay ahead of its time. Shenmue was literally unbelievable.
I had a Dreamcast for literally as long as I could remember, and seeing it 14 years later really lets out the kid inside me QwQ
Happy 20th, Dreamcast.
Just got it, and I freaking love it!! I also got Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Crazy Taxi, and a few other games plus 2 extra controllers with VMUs
Great review. Lose the music.
ur thumbnail + that comment makes it so epic.
Japanese Dreamcast was released on my birthday. Along with Bruce Lee and Jimi Hendrix. When I'm celebrating birthday, I'm actually celebrating theirs. Way more important than mine :D
I loved that VMU card. We used to play football and we could select plays without the opponet not knowing what schemed you choose. It was great.
Played Shenmue today!
