    Straight forward and easy to understand. Should be helpful to a lot of folks learning Carveco. Thanks.

    Thanks Vernon. You made it very simple. And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that makes mistakes. Thank you for showing those. Not very many videos creators do that giving the impression they have absolutely perfect results. Keep 'em coming!! (The videos...not the mistakes!! lol )

    I've seen your rooster video and now this one, what I am trying to make is a relief Rooster sign with raised letters. It would seem you have to create a new plane that will represent a future flattened area and from the point, the letters would raise up say 0.125 and the rooster would raise up 0.250. I haven't been successful trying to do both yet, mainly because the z for the text and rooster are different but they both "start" from the same thickness of the board (if 0.75", then it would carve down a total of 0.25" leaving the 0.125" text and 0.250" rooster).

      A little hard to explain here but basically create a border around the relief (chicken) so no material is removed beyond the border
      Enter the text outside the relief border enter a boundary around the text highlighting both boundaries and the text create a v bit tool path limiting depth to the same z as the chicken and that should work
      Simulate the carve and check to be sure I’m right
      Hope this helps

      @@Hinkleshop I will try that. Would that v bit too path create carved out text or text that looks more embossed or like I bought letters and glued them to the board. Thanks for the videos and response 🙂

      @@HinkleshopI get the concept of creating the boundary around the rooster. Problem is, it won't be a nice square box or something easy because of the way the text I'm putting there is laid out. So I'm having issues creating a boundary around the rooster (I'm using polyline) for an area above and an area below. I can create the odd shape (boundary) around the rooster ok, but then I can't match up a boundary for the text area that perfectly matches up to the hand drawn polygon shape, such that a tool path would remove all (other than rooster and text above and below).
      I really appreciate the help, once I get this, I can pretty much do any combination of relief and text.

      @@Hangs4Fun highlight the poly line boarder and do an offset outward you will get a larger duplicate of that boarder then put your text between them

    Thanks. Im learning this software and im pulling my hair out. Is it possible to do smooth setters instead of square edged letters? Sort of rounded on top. Probably 3d style.

    • @Hinkleshop
      @Hinkleshop  Рік тому

      To round the top you would have to do a relief carving which is much more complicated

    Thanks for this video, sure needed it. But I have one question. Is there a different way to do ovals like that? I am trying to do one with a shoulder. It seems that I always get toolpaths over lapping. I know that there has to be a way. Again thanks for the info.

      I’m not quite sure what your asking but, if you want to create an oval click and hold the circle tool and a fly out menu will appear with an oval selection I believe

      😅 No,no. I have been trying to do an address sign with the numbers raised and with about an 3/8 or so boundary around it. It actually comes from another site. He uses aspire and or vertical. I was trying to do the same thing with carveco maker. Pretty new at this so just trying to put things together. However I did just find one that you have. And I will have to say I like your videos a lot easier to watch for an old but goody. Thanks

      @mauricepeters9588
      Ok I think I understand now
      So. Create an oval vector place the text inside the oval
      Activate the oval and the text limit the depth of cut to whatever the height you want the letters
      Then deactivate the vectors and create a boundary vector on your stock
      Activate the boundary And your oval and do an area clearance slightly deeper than the text depth
      You will then have an oval with letters on top of it
      Also I may do a tutorial on this stay tuned I’ll try to get it done as quickly as I can
      Hope that makes sense

    When it comes time to select the text and rectangle, Carveco does not allow me to select both. I can select either the text or the rectangle, but not both at the same time. I know this is most likely operator, so please let me know where I am going wrong. After creating the text and the box, I hit creat at each step. Then I try to highlight both befor I try and creat a toolpath. Carveco won't let me select both the letters and the box.
