I love this lens and much more prefer it to the newer 33mm. I think the magic lies in the field curvature that creates a softer bokeh in the middle while producing a more pronounced bokeh at the edges. This effect frames the subject and makes it stand out in a way.
Nice but I still prefer the 33 1.4. It’s faster on the linear motor and the sharpness is good for 40 megapixels. Some of my favorite shots have come from this lens, and that surprised me!
This lens almost convinced me that I should leave the XF system immediately. Loud and slow AF. Too many optical flaws, sold as "character" or "magic". Great marketing. Simply outdated.
I love to shoot flowers at close distance with this lens. Love it. Thanks for the video. ❤
I own this lens and love it. Especially its compact size for a fast 35mm, compared the the bigger and heavier new ones.

Is the 35 soft on 40 megapixels?
33?

Most likely, it’s older technology.
@@sclogse1 yes, 33mm
still my favorite lens.
It's the only lens that I wouldn't sell; no other Fuji lens beats the soft look of this lens.
own it w xpro2
Did you really remove my comment?
No, I didn't. What comment?
@@dirtyoldlenses I wrote a big ass comment talking about the magic of this lens :(
Hmm. I just turned off any kind of automatic comment moderation, so hopefully that doesn't happen again. I do appreciate your feedback.
