- Sit back and turn up the speakers, as you're in for over 40 minutes of pure, uninterrupted twin Merlin music from Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum's de Havilland D.H.98 Mosquito T.Mk.III, "Wag's War Wagon."
The FHCAM’s Mosquito was built in Leavesden, England, as a training aircraft in 1945. The plane was among the last of the type to be retired from RAF service in 1963. Turned over to the Imperial War Museum (IWM), the Mosquito appeared in the 1964 film 633 Squadron.
After filming, the plane was displayed in an IWM facility until 1988. The plane was traded to the FHCAM in 2003 and sent to Avspecs Ltd. In New Zealand for restoration to flight status. It returned to the skies in late 2016. While the plane retains some aspects of a trainer, additions were made to give the Mosquito the appearance of a wartime FB.Mk.VI fighter-bomber. - Авто та транспорт

Lovely to see a 605 sq liveried night fighter. My grandfather flew and was killed in UP-K HX823, must have been very close to the colour scheme he flew. For info a lot of 605 planes had the letter in white in a smaller font either directly on the front of the fuselage underneath the guns or either side a bit further back. Once again thanks for posting. Amazing work

Budd Tingwell flew the Mozzy over France in recon after doing recon in the Spit. He loved both but none more than the Mozzy. For those who dont know, Bud was a famous Aussie actor who also did voice overs in "Thunderbirds".
The Mozzie was about a100 MPH faster than the B25 with half the crew.

Forgive my ignorance but how did you retain the "prop rotation" in your video. Did you run a low frame rate to achieve this?
THEE BEST MOZZIE VID YET !, Great visuals and sound. BUT, SHEEEE-iT< some of the bunching looked scary, I know it's all to do with angles and perspection, but, I neary crushed me ''MOUSE'.

21:25 was there a problem with the left landing gear?
Sadly we attended one of the last UK Mosquitoes when it crashed with the loss of the crew at Barton Air Show. A very sad day.

Yes I remember it well I was there . Flat spun into Irlam moss . Absolute tragedy . I used to love seeing it flying over chester from Sealand airbase . It was always low level . About 500 feet . Happier times.

Twin engine, high performance, multi-role fighter. The Mosquito is the direct ancestor to the F-15 Eagle.

Yea that’s a cold start for sure,weird how she didn’t light quick. By cranking and running right engine gets the other motivated. Mags to spark plugs, to not enough priming. Back when my father flew I had to hand prop once it took some doing but she went. After a short flight ✈️ battery was done. Would not light. So give em a prop turn. It’s good and better to hear em verses sitting a museum collecting dust. Still think you can do candy parachute drops for kids.
Mark , I always thought when one engine was running the other engine thought to its self, maybe I ought to run too. And, like you, all engines are female, no wonder they are bitches when they are cold. That is the stupidest thing ever written on U TUBE to refer to anything mechanical as female. You left home yet?
i absolutely love this plane , but i have a question thats always been on my mind......i am always in fear of the ground crewman being to close to the propeller at startup...shouldnt he use a little more caution and step back about 10 ft....lets try to be a little bit more cautious.....
These people are professionals who have worked with vintage aircraft nearly their entire professional lives and as such, know exactly where to stand. When my camera is zoomed all the way in, such as what you see in these videos, relative distance is greatly compressed, giving an illusion that they are standing inches from the propellers, when in fact they are out by the wingtips, several feet away, where the fire extinguishers usually are located as well. I assure you this is no amateur hour.
And the part at 7:30, he's at least 10 feet from he aircraft. Has to be close enough to be in the sight of the pilot.
@sparks1504 For both jet engines & propeller driven planes, there are two hazard areas to stay clear of. First area is typically indicated by a red line on the fuselage. On jets this is in line with the "hot stage" of the jet engine. In case there is a mechanical failure in this critical area, titanium turbine blades could fly out. The same red line is painted on propeller driven planes in line with the airscrew itself. Never stand in line with the red line when the engine is running. Second area is like you stated, in front of the intake zone, hazard of being sucked into the jet / airscrew. On helicopters one needs to be aware of the tail rotor hazards. Many ground crew & air crew have been hit by helicopter tail rotors.
never once intimated it was an "amateur hour"....it just seemed as though they were much closer then they were.....
What field's was this filmed? Looked like Boeing Field in Renton in a few shots.
It was all shot at Paine Field in Everett.

If you ever get in a fuel pinch in a car or truck. Aviation fuel. My father did when was flying models to. Parked on a hill which the carb and remaining fuel ran to where fuel pick up couldn’t get the rest. Some one took their cub up hmm 🤔 gave him fifty for what was left in his tanker truck. Thirty gallons or less don’t remember how much. Usually my father’s surburban got ten mpg on a good day. After he finished flying we’ll see what would happen. Well it lit and the truck had more pep and cleaned out entire fuel system and the pistons and valves all the carbon was cooked off. I mean she smoked so bad the sheriff’s car was blocked behind us he thought we were on fire. I was laughing 😂 so hard. My dad barely touched the gas off to the races. Not sure on the mileage but instead of every three days we got over a week on fuel. My dad was concerned on damage valves were new looking pistons like new. He wandered if they were replaced or cleaned. Cleaned by av gas. She ran smoother and cooler. Not sure on injected cars or trucks today or flex fuel but I’m sure it work if you got into fuel pinch.
Av gas will cook your engine. Need to mix it with some lower octane fuel. Mate of mine filled one of our cars and it blew the engine.
