At 15:25: "Let's go for a quarter inch bowl gouge ... or three eights if you're in the United States". Is there a reason for saying that (or was it just habit of having to convert stuff back to old units for the US)?
It's to do with the way they're measured, in the UK the tool is measured across the inside of the flutes whereas in the US it's the external measurement or the diameter of the tool steel, so 1/4" between the wings and or 3/8" outside measurement. Here in Australia we annoyingly measure gouges both ways, makes it hard to order tools online...
