I have some of those too! They are actually bigger in diameter than the actual candles though, so you have to decide which one you're going to use before hand.
What a beautiful design from such simple components ... just hope you don't trip while walking by it 😁 Your finish is what I believe is called friction polish, it requires that you put a reasonable amount of pressure onto the piece as it's spinning to generate heat ... it's the heat which creates the shine 👍
Yep...I did...it's not a proper light box either. It's just a box with white paper on the inside. Someday I'll be able to afford a proper one...or remember to use the flash on my camera 😬
Very well done Heather !! Looks like bone a bit - notice how it fades to whitish towards the antler tip ? Thanks for sharing. Take care. -Mike p.s. do you like the MinWax ? It's my goto topcoat.
Thanks Mike! I don't really "see" the bone resemblance...but you do you! Lol I have been using the minwax antique oil for quite a few years on my pyrography and just never tried it on my turnings! This is the first time trying, and I will definitely keep using it
Sweet. Amazon sells small tea lights that flicker. Actually look like a real candle burning.

Really nice Heather, one thing " even though the candle is in metal there should be another metal holder ( Just in case ) "
You are definitely correct on that! Also, lit candles should never be left unattended
Great job Heather. Hope you can share it with us Wednesday.
I'll try Doug! I can usually listen, just can't always participate

I wonder if you forgot to turn on the light of the box when you did the glamour shot at the end. Picture seemed a little dark 😊

Lovely piece could you put up the finished dimensions please.
Thanks! And the piece is 9" tall, and each "cone" is 2.5" at the wide end. Hope this helps
