As much as Reggie is trying to embarrass CJ and show him that the tables have turned, my favorite moment is CJ inadvertently doing it himself with the "I didn't get where you are today by ...". Loved it 50 years ago, love it today.

They did. Years ago with Martin Clunes playing Reggie.
It was actually very good but sadly never made it to the third series due to only acceptable ratings.
They commissioned some trash for BBC 3 instead

The first series was only six episodes but that is all it took to become legendary. Everyone in it was superb, each with their own contribution. I bought the DVD box set and noticed (now that I am older) that Reggie's wife is one of the most beautiful women who ever lived. Eye candy par excellence.
In all honesty, only series one and two are worth revisiting. The rest of it was pretty mediocre but Perrin at its best is unlikely ever to be surpassed.
