i kno this is like a year old video but this is the best festival packing one so far ive seen! I kno what to take but always forgetting something so im gnna keep this video save and watch this while i pack so ill make sure to get everything! :D
You also can take some newspaper with you, if your shoes are soaked with water you can put some newspaper inside over night. Your shoes will dry faster that way, plus put them in the sun if possible! :)
this is a really good video, i went to download for 5 days also this year and i took with me so much stuff it was hard to carry but it was worth it! Advice for people camping... check that your tent is waterproof, myself and a few friends bought tents from halfords as they were cheap but when it rained the last few days we were filling plastic bowls with water and constantly tipping it out!
+DJVoyagerXue I went in a massive group (nearly 20 of us), me and two of my older siblings have mutual friends so even though I was 4+ years younger than most of them it never felt like it
Awww that's so cool, my niece is also going this year and my daughter hasn't seen her cousin for a couple of years, so we are both looking forward to it :)
Ditzy Dolly Dreamer aw I'm glad you had a good time! I find disposable waterproofs to be a pain in the ass personally (as they always rip in pits), although they are cheaper I really do prefer more sturdy ones. Also I mentioned taking a towel! Haha I take a microfibre one as it takes up a lot less space in your bag xx
This is handy, even though me and my friends are not going to any festivals, we are planning a could of camping weekends away. I've been camping before with my family, but my friends never. :) This is gonna help them and me.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Going to Download this year and it will be my first ever festival! Fucking excited. I was completely clueless as to what I should take. Btw, where can I get cheap tents and other camping stuff?
+Fariha Rahman Ahhhhhh I hope you have an amazing time!! You can get camping equipment from so many different places so it's best to look around on different sites to find the best things for you. You could check Halfords, Argos, Ebay, gooutdoors.co.uk, or even Amazon and also when it starts getting closer to festival season supermarkets like ASDA and Tesco etc start having tents and camping sets. In my experience cheap tents aren't really worth it, for a couple of years I bought relatively cheap tents (£20-£40) and they ended up being not fully waterproof or just really awkward to put up or pieces were missing and I'd leave them at the end of the festival. Then one year I decided fuck it I'm gonna get a better one, I got a vango dart double skin pop up tent (either 3 or 4 person) for about £90. I've taken it to 4/5 festivals and it's great, double skin makes it way more waterproof, pop up means it takes about a minute to put up and the size is perfect for one or two people with alllllll your shit 😄
mini LED light comes in handy; i have an LED combo phone charger (15000 mAh) from kickstarter (h2o; dust & shock proof) that has a bright LED built into the side of the charger. i can charge my htc m9 4x. brands like mountain house and backpackers pantry offer easy to make food all you need is hot water. thanks for the video :)
+Gare man My shitty little phone has a built in torch which is super handy! Battery packs are reaaalllyyy useful for festivals, so much easier than having to charge in their lockers! I always hated using them.
heavy montreal, last year 2 hours after i landed in montreal i ran into Alex Skolnick from the band Testament, great guy, completely random moment, best day ever
you missed the flipflops. last time i went to a festival, i ended up wearing my flipflops a lot, specially when we were just chilling outside the tent. also, they should be plastic or water proof flipflops, in case you wanna take a shower
+Camila Rodríguez Gálvez I never take flip flops, usually it's hella muddy, but sometimes I take converse or something light to hang around the camp site in 😃
Baby wipes! They can clean every part of you, from face to feet : ) and a huge pkg cost $1 , 1£ whichever. Visit Poundland in the UK ; ) or DollarTree in the US : )
Great video, great tips! Gave me nice ideas while watching this. Going on a first festival in my life (and I'm 21 -.-) so yeah, thanks for the tips! Btw, check the Metaldays festival in Slovenia I'm going to in July, you might like to come one day ;)
+geek base I believe so! I'm back from Thailand on the 6th so I'll probably be jet-lagged and moody for the wednesday/thursday but should still be fuckin' awesomeeeeee
Will my tent be ruined? I have a tent that I use almost every weekend and I want to still be able to use it after the festival. I don't mind if it gets all gross and muddy - but I don't want holes to be ripped or pieces missing... Or should I buy a new tent only for the purpose of the festival?
Mine has been to 5 festivals and survived perfectly 😊 Of course there's a chance of it getting ruined as you will be around drunk/ high people for the weekend that might fall on it etc, or if your tent has locks on it someone might rip open a side to steal things... I've never had a problem but whether you want to risk it or not is totally up to you :)
+Tim Mllb I've never actually watched one but they do happen a lot, which is why you should try not to take many valuables (and if you do carry them with you/ keep them in a locker). Also, if you do have valuables in your tent for the love of god do not put a padlock on it, it literally screams "ROB ME, THERE'S SHIT IN HERE". Once when I was asleep someone started to unzip my tent which woke me up instantly, I started to unzip my inner door and they bolted off. Clearly people stealing things as in the morning people camping near to us had had loads of stuff stolen. 😞
i am shitting myself, i got my ticket, and the half that says "this isnt a ticket" i accidently ripped off as I grabbed it out my pocket and I'm scared that I'm gonna get to the festival and they'll decline it! Does this matter?
DailyMusicPlug They scan the tickets so they should be able to tell that it hasn't been used so if you took both parts and explained I'd have THOUGHT it would be okay, but I'm not sure! it might be best to phone or email customer service to check before you go 💕
I've never known security guards to bother checking when you're actually in the campsite, they've only ever looked in bags etc while entering on the first day when you arrive (here they aren't looking for alcohol more so drugs and weapons). I guess it depends on how old you look, who you're with, the security guards that check you, if you seem out of it etc etc. I've never ever been asked for ID when they've found my alcohol (even when I was 15), if you're super worried about it get someone who is 18+ to take it through security for you, but from my experience you should be fine ❤
How in the nine circles of hell do you fit all that in a bag. This is a legitimate question. I'm travelling overseas and terrified that my bag will weight a ton
ThatOnePerson my tent and sleeping bag were attached to the outside of my rucksack and I wore the biggest shoes/jumper on the day I left, also I had my bum bag on my waist. Other than that it's essentially like playing Tetris in a rucksack lmao
Rachael Elizabeth And how heavy was it? Did it hurt you in any way? We're not taking a car or anything so we need to take everything ourselves and carry it on our backs. I predict an epic back ache
I always refer to this video each time I'm going to graspop so this video is like my saving grace :P except I can't bother with makeup and flower crowns lol. My jewelry never survives graspop fucking ever. I take a pirate hat and I own up to looking like shit idgaf
+Rachael Elizabeth Oh my god somehow I managed to read 'Published on the 23rd December' instead of the 23rd of June, no idea how I managed to do that :') ah I went last year it was so much fun! :D did you see Muse or Maralyn Manson? :p
+lily beer Hahahaha don't worry about it! My brain plays tricks on me sometimes too! I saw Marilyn Manson! I've never really been a fan of Muse. What about you? 😃
Rachael Elizabeth oh that's good then haha. I always see people poat pics of their whole ticket everywhere and just think of a situation when they can't get in..
Are you sure they will? I've taken alcohol into festival camping since 15 and they've never ID'd or really taken a second glance at me for it (... Although I'm definitely not condoning underage drinking haha) 😁
its my first time going to a festival, i read the rule thingy and it said you can bring alcohol into reading festival but you have to show id that you are 18 or over otherwise they'll confiscate it
+Tamsin Wood Usually you can't take glass in (but can take in cans), I always just transfer vodka/ sourz/ cocktails and whatever else into plastic pop bottles which I guess is less obvious that it is alcohol. If you're quite worried about it and are going with someone over 18 you could get them to bring it through for you? ☺
this was literally the most useful video ever, I just added everything you mentioned onto my list! x
i kno this is like a year old video but this is the best festival packing one so far ive seen! I kno what to take but always forgetting something so im gnna keep this video save and watch this while i pack so ill make sure to get everything! :D
😘😘
First video to tell you what you reeeally need, not all the Coachella shit. Rock on 🤘🏻
Haven't camped at a festival for almost 10 years so this was a great reminder video, thank you :)
+Bryn Richards Glad it helped you my lovely!
You also can take some newspaper with you, if your shoes are soaked with water you can put some newspaper inside over night. Your shoes will dry faster that way, plus put them in the sun if possible! :)
Ahhhhh that's a good idea! Never thought of that ❤
this is a really good video, i went to download for 5 days also this year and i took with me so much stuff it was hard to carry but it was worth it! Advice for people camping... check that your tent is waterproof, myself and a few friends bought tents from halfords as they were cheap but when it rained the last few days we were filling plastic bowls with water and constantly tipping it out!
+Leah Wiggins Oh my god, that's awful! Yeah, definitely check your tent beforehand! I hope you had a fab time (other than having a wet tent)
A great reminder list Rachael, I am taking my daughter to her first Download festival this year, she is only 15 but we will have a blast ;)
+DJVoyagerXue Awwwwwww I went to my first Download when I was 15! I bet you'll both have an amazing time! 😄
+Rachael Elizabeth Who took you there on your first time?
+DJVoyagerXue I went in a massive group (nearly 20 of us), me and two of my older siblings have mutual friends so even though I was 4+ years younger than most of them it never felt like it
Awww that's so cool, my niece is also going this year and my daughter hasn't seen her cousin for a couple of years, so we are both looking forward to it :)
+DJVoyagerXue nice to know I'm not going to be the only 15 year old, I felt like I'd just be surrounded by adults and be like the youngest there😂
Ditzy Dolly Dreamer aw I'm glad you had a good time! I find disposable waterproofs to be a pain in the ass personally (as they always rip in pits), although they are cheaper I really do prefer more sturdy ones. Also I mentioned taking a towel! Yeah condoms for your friends ! 😉 and lube! Hmm yeah .. Okay .. 👌
Im gonna take some condoms for ´´my friends´´ too
Going to boardmasters in just over a week and its such a good list to help me check if ive missed anything! x
This is handy, even though me and my friends are not going to any festivals, we are planning a could of camping weekends away. I've been camping before with my family, but my friends never. :) This is gonna help them and me.
Yaaaaaaaaaas have fun b 😘
i'm always so stressed when it comes to packing and always forget stuff, this video was so helpfull thankyou!!!
❤❤❤
This is the most helpful video I've seen so far. Thank you.
Download 2015 was my first ever festival and I thoroughly enjoyed it :)
Lol this randomly popped up on my feed and..... YOU CRACK ME UP! :L
I've subscribed purely because of this video :D
This is exactly what I was looking for. Going to Download this year and it will be my first ever festival! Fucking excited. I was completely clueless as to what I should take. Btw, where can I get cheap tents and other camping stuff?

Are you going to any festivals this year?
I believe Download again! Yourself? 😄
heavy montreal, last year 2 hours after i landed in montreal i ran into Alex Skolnick from the band Testament, great guy, completely random moment, best day ever
Getting me excited for summer
you missed the flipflops. last time i went to a festival, i ended up wearing my flipflops a lot, specially when we were just chilling outside the tent. also, they should be plastic or water proof flipflops, in case you wanna take a shower

Download 2016 was a blast, except for when the tsunami happened. thought Id check out your video for this years checklist, added a few things C:
I love this video, covers everything!
found this really helpful thankyou :) also love the hair
+Crystal Vater Glad it was useful! and thank you so much! I only got to keep it like this for a week though, which sucked!
Baby wipes! They can clean every part of you, from face to feet : ) and a huge pkg cost $1 , 1£ whichever. Visit Poundland in the UK ; ) or DollarTree in the US : )
+Lindaloves music yesss baby wipes are good! I use other wipes because for some reason baby wipes irritate my skin 😞
life saver rachael!
How are your tents during the day I get nervous with not locking my tent when I’m away where anyone could walk-in in like they own it
wow this is great, heres to download 2016! haha
also to trying to take all of this on the train
If you have a big rucksack it's not so bad! I always feel sorry for people lugging several shoulder or tote bags, that'd be a nightmare on a train!
Yea download was great but all my stuff was super heavy, also my tent flooded...so that was brilliant
Ohhhhhh shit. Where were you camped??
+Rachael Elizabeth blue camp, got pretty muddy haha
I suggest taking an old towel or something just in case? :3
This is really helpful!! I know it was last year but where did you get the Malibu from in that multipack?
Tescoooo 😁
Ruby Lindsay ASDA! It was only like £10! x
Great video, great tips! Gave me nice ideas while watching this. Going on a first festival in my life (and I'm 21 -.-) so yeah, thanks for the tips! Btw, check the Metaldays festival in Slovenia I'm going to in July, you might like to come one day ;)
That was super helpful thank you 😊😊😊

You going download this year? I can't wait
+geek base I believe so! I'm back from Thailand on the 6th so I'll probably be jet-lagged and moody for the wednesday/thursday but should still be fuckin' awesomeeeeee

Great video!! thanks for all the tips! (:
No probs babes!!
Do you need a lock like to close your tent?
i am shitting myself, i got my ticket, and the half that says "this isnt a ticket" i accidently ripped off as I grabbed it out my pocket and I'm scared that I'm gonna get to the festival and they'll decline it! Does this matter?

I know you can't take alcohol into the arena but if you're under 18 will they take it away from you in the campsite?

depends how far your walking from the entrance from the campsite is about 10-30 minutes so should be fine
Oh it will
Where did you get your poncho?

Great video! But what is it with people not bringing TOILET SEAT COVERS!!!!! I don't want gonorrhoea from some grotty portaloo !
Squat?!

jacob mcGuire yeah you cannnn 💖
thx I have so much stuff packed but idk what not to take lol

in the description she said she uploaded it way after the show
I always refer to this video each time I'm going to graspop so this video is like my saving grace :P except I can't bother with makeup and flower crowns lol. My jewelry never survives graspop fucking ever. I take a pirate hat and I own up to looking like shit idgaf
dude I'm going in 2023 and and this is the best one yet
you're packing for Download already? o.O I probably won't be doing that til like the day before knowing me xD
This was last year hun, haha this was filmed the day before I went (the day I started packing)
+Rachael Elizabeth Oh my god somehow I managed to read 'Published on the 23rd December' instead of the 23rd of June, no idea how I managed to do that :') ah I went last year it was so much fun! :D did you see Muse or Maralyn Manson? :p

Aw it's good you finally got to see them then! And yes I believe so! Are you? ☺
i love your hair :D
❤
what fanny pack is that? i like it!
Ahhhhhh I got it on amazon a few years ago! Didn't cost much! hang onnnn
goo.gl/Kg3Afa
Just a tip for the future... Maybe shouldn't show your ticket in a way where people can see all the barcodes and so on. Someone could copy it somehow.
+Tiia Heino Someone said this before haha, thank you for your concern! I uploaded this after I had been to the festival so no one could copy it 😄
Rachael Elizabeth oh that's good then haha. I always see people poat pics of their whole ticket everywhere and just think of a situation when they can't get in..
love this
I took disposable waterproofs :)
+Emma Embers I always manage to rip them within about 5 minutes of wearing them and render them useless 😔
I agree I'm going this year and I've already started making my list haha :) 🙊💕☺️
So good 🎶🎶 so good thankyouuuuuu!
Welcome babes 😘
4 days!!!!!!!!!
Dream
Girl much ! 😊👼🏿👼🏿
any tips of smuggling alcohol into a festival? im 16 and they'll take it of me if i bring it in :(
Are you sure they will? I've taken alcohol into festival camping since 15 and they've never ID'd or really taken a second glance at me for it (... Although I'm definitely not condoning underage drinking haha) 😁

+Julia Watermann YES! I forgot this part!!! My pals always have some so I didn't pack any!
Don't show your ticket on camera. Someone can steal it by using the numbers on the ticket.
+ambumanzo I uploaded this after I'd been to the festival 😃
rawr xd
Ok this is a girls guide haha xD
The main components don't change depending on gender though!! hahaha
