Wow what a fab video, lots of great stuff like Standard stock on the IOW, 155, 442, 313's & 317's on the West Coast. Also the old Harrow box & search light signalling on the DC line. :-)
Excellent Historical footage in this film. The old ex LT 1927 Standard stock on the Isle of Wight is really worth watching as is the 1959/62 stock actually on the underground itself. Some of the Isle of Wight 1927 cars are preserved at Acton in the LT museum "Depot"
I can recall the first of these trains running to and from from Portsmouth & Southsea Station to Havant on drivier training duties, prior to to the electrification of the IoW line and the shipping over of these trains, one coach at a time, on the car ferries. When were they supplanted by the 1938 stock?
@Yolticat The DMU sounds you mention were actually recorded on cassette tape in the late '70s To record them digitally on a PC I attached a tape player via the tape out phono sockets to my pc via the stereo microphone socket. Using recording software (I think I used real player to record them) converted the analogue tape into MP3s in real time. .You could probably make a movie using windows movie maker and then insert the sounds into that and upload to youtube as a movie file
@metadyneman Thanks! On your website you have uploaded a short audio recording of a DMU train in London. This gave me an idea to see if I could upload some of my extensive audio recordings of various public transport made in the 1980s but not sure of the best way. They're audio cassettes so if I found an old tape recorder and the correct lead I may be able to attach it to my Digi-box to upload....would it work on UA-cam do you think? Any suggestions appreciated
Funny how you grow to miss these old crocks, the old Standard cars on the Island, to name but one. Still like the sound the Wessex units make, they sound like proper EMUs. All today's kit is silent, sanitised stuff, that probably won't last as long as some of these oldies did. As a railwayman I was very sad to see all the old designs go, even though some were built as recently as the late 70's, glad I'm retired. Such a wasteful world we live in now.
@Klingl3r I have not much bus footage! You have already seen the Berlin buses I uploaded, but I will upload next some old buses in the video "Holborn Viaduct station 1990", then there will be a little also in Paris in the next few weeks I hope.
That's me!....the guard on the train running into Ryde Pierhead at 0:30. Happy days! Lovely video....thanks for sharing.

Brilliant video even get to see 155s on the Cardiff services!
Nice video. It brings me back my memories of the A stock and the bus which appears to be on my local bus route at the time before I was born.
That very nice trains to memories!!!!

5:30 And here I am complaining about the 3-car FGW 157s they use on the Cardiff line now...

It's not buses, is this is train, mate.
@metadyneman Thanks, I will try something along those lines. I actually found a blank UA-cam video with only sound so it should work!
1989
where is this train now
Your mother
Gone local transport museum. 😊
What the ****?! Look at the difference between the Wessex and the 487 at 6:00
