Our two yearold son woke and was upset and awake for 2 hours the other night and wouldn't settle. I eventually played him this as he loves music but normally kids stuff and he was instantly taken by it. Came into bed and watched it twice fell asleep on my chest. It was a beautiful moment and really seemed to connect to his Irish DNA and spirit. There's so much we will never understand fully and that's ok....especially when it gives us precious moments such as this ❤
They're playing in Stoneybatter (Dublin7) in Walsh's pub, every week. They were before lockdown, anyway. Think they're back now! Lovely young men. Good times 🥰 Thanks, guys.
This has been spinning multiple times/week for a good few years now, and I just have to say -- absolutely savage work all around by the brothers MacGloinn and Myles O'Reilly. Damn near perfection, down to the hilarious cut following the stage manager's inquiry. When experts of vision and sound combine forces, you are left with pure magic. Bravo (7 years late).
I cannot stop watching this video - the music is entrancing, mesmerizing, captivating. Hope the byz make it back to Celtic Colours! Can't wait to see them live.
They actually sing Lowlands in the mixolydian mode,,,have they I wonder learnt it from the 1955 Tradition field recording,,I love the impromptu dance,And they visited the syrian refugee centre in Vienna,,,the right good place for true Irish gypsies,
When the German man comes into it and says “are you going on stage with the lights?” I always hear it as “going on stage with the lads?” yuppaa, Ofcourse they are
Does anyone know the name of the warm up song they sing at the beginning of the video? Its really grown on me after watching the video 100 times and I want to learn the whole thing haha

So much compassion in their voices.
this deserves 100 times the views it has now. And as always Myles O'Reilly captures the light side of life perfectly.
Myles O'Reilly most defiantly one of my favorite film makers
Magic!
Brian MacGloinn - the most compelling voice of his generation.
I know right. Him and Radie Peat are my favourite living singers.
He's unreal
Was at the gig on Sherkin island. These lads are the real deal. Real music is alive and well. Thanks again lads.

I wake up with this song in my head fairly often... I blame ye two 😆😍
The greatest version of The Lowlands of Holland. No contest
Simply brilliant! Fab voices. I'm a fan of this song ever since I first heard Steeleye Span's version back in the 70's.
Where are you coming from Patrick

Tis far from gypsies the are missus, and it's not really a word you use here in Ireland, but everything else is spot on! Fair play to you ;)

Very nice indeed.
Would love to see Mr. O'Reilly do something with I Draw Slow.

And he's drownd'd in the sea.
Well done, boys!

Great singing, interesting video :-)
Class, fair play
I think the stage hand is right. If the started playing in the dark and then bring a spot light on them the effect would be great .
When the German man comes into it and says “are you going on stage with the lights?” I always hear it as “going on stage with the lads?” yuppaa, Ofcourse they are
Jawohl! Wir trinken und wir singen und wir tanzen and alles geht doch gut (und ich bin verspaetet, aber hier bin ich ohne Zweifel).

What song are they singing in the dressing room?
+Nijiru It's a version of The Return of Pat Malloy.
I can't find literally a single version of this song apart from them singing it in the dressing room. And it is so good! :D
Paddy Tunney has one, but it is called Paddy Molloy; it's in Spotify
Let's hope that the Irish don't forget the lady who brought them their soul.
Oh this is good. Let me just make some popcorn.... ok, now, explain:
Wouldn't it be funny if in the third or fourth run she said, "Just call me Ishmael"?
