I've been a Pro Max user for a long time, but this year I'm switching to the Pro. It feels more comfortable and manageable. Despite the Pro Max larger screen, Apple doesn't make the most of that extra space; it just feels everything is bigger.
This is how I feel. I’m struggling between the two. I picked up both on launch day and can’t choose. Been back and forth. I like the screen and battery on 16PM but regular has a solid battery too this year. Just so much more comfortable to hold and use and less pinky/thumb strain. But the screen size of the max is just nice
16 pro. Portability and maneuverability in one hand is key. If there were an even smaller model I’d have taken it. If I need to “see” more I go to my Desktop.
Jumped from the 15 Pro to the 16 Pro Max. Got about ~5-6 hours of screen on time with Always On Display and Background Refresh turned off on the 15 Pro. Now I’m getting 12+ hours of screen on time with the 16 Pro Max! Sacrificing the regular Pro that was more comfortable for one handed use phone for a bigger battery with a larger screen is fine with me. I don’t have battery anxiety anymore.
I'm actually thinking of doing the same. I'm very happy with the size of the 15 Pro because it is very easy to use with one hand. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the battery life. This is my first time using a pro variant, I usually go with Pro Max.
@@iamBede My friends who have the 16 Pro have only noticed a slight difference in battery life by an hour or two compared to their 15 Pro’s. I would rather spend an extra hundred dollars for a larger screen and a better battery than to spend $100 on an external battery, another device I would have to worry about carrying around with me.
Desert colour is not that great i have changed my phone colour to Black one now i am enjoying 16 pro max… i see in the store many people’s are there to exchange colour because they didn’t like desert colour
The max is too big for you. But the max is perfect for me because I like big screen and also I’m visually impaired spell for me regular 15 pro is just too small.
This is my choice and no one else. Everyone else can pick their own size phone. And the question was to answer which one you would choose, above was my answer.
My 16 pro max battery life is a beast. I’ve had every iPhone from 11 pro max and the 16 pro max battery easily beats them all. Best battery life I’ve ever had.
I downsized from my 13 Pro Max 256GB to 16 Pro 256GB. There’s a pocket in my vest that the Max wouldn’t fit down inside. The Pro fits. Waiting for my quad lock case and motorcycle mount. The Pro size won’t fit my existing RAM mount.
I have the same setup but with different results. Battery life is excellent! That’s the only good news. Between the daily app crashes, network issues and touchscreen issues, this is a rough beta.
@@plwjr once you install beta as iOS 18.1 beta 5 , what I done, is erase the iPhone , and setup it from the start, once you come to welcome screen, leave it like 10 min, don’t touch it, then it’ll be fine. I don’t have any issues not even single time. Battery is so good, smooth, even you can install AI just change region if your not in US
It’s actually a hundred dollar difference if you upgrade the base storage on the pro model to 256. Because the pro comes with 128 and it won’t even allow you to use the 4k 120video feature unless and external storage is connected.
I have a 13 pro max and I’d have to say, I’m definitely going down to the pro. I have a permanent dent on my pinky fingers from holding this heavy phone up. Lol. I miss texting with one hand also…
Is it really necessary to pull the cable, to take a Magsafe charger off the phone? Are there no more rubber stud to grab, like on the old one, but only the cable it self? I hope that Apple has made a very stong cable!!
Have a 10 X Max - 6.5” screen Pro is 6.3. Pro Max is 6.9 My eyes are worse - getting the larger screen :) Also have large hands (3X glove size) so 6.9” is nothing.
I was doing the iOS 18 betas on my 15 Pro Max but now that I have traded it in for the 16 Pro Max I am going to stick with the public releases. iOS 18.1 will be here soon enough. Apple has cheated us all, not having AI ready after marketing it as the big thing, and we won’t even see the best features, the smarter Siri until sometime next year.
So disappointed. I went to the Apple Store and looked at the new 16 Pro Desert Titanium. It looked exactly like my Gold 12 Pro. Apple is slowly diminishing.
I’ve always had the max version of the pro iPhones since the iPhone 11 pro Max and it’s been no different when I upgraded from the 14 pro Max to the 16 pro Max and I have no regrets. Have I prefer the biggest screen for the bigger battery? Bigger display and also because I’m visually impaired but overall I generally prefer bigger displays.
Not compelling upgrade for iPhone 15 pro owners when all new features have a workaround in previous year iPhone. Like action button can be used for camera capture.

You can adjust the sensitivity of pressing the button etc for the camera control so because it opens with a press of the button, you can set it so if you take it out of your pocket, two presses can open it, you can also customise it to open say the scanning on the iPhone or magnifier or a camera based app like instagram, so it’s completely customisable. It’s covered in Aaron’s set up of the iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max and look at the new features :)
I own both the 16 Pro Max and 16 Pro. I only have a gaming PC, which I rarely use during the week. I love the 16 Pro Max's screen and battery life but find it too large. In contrast, the 16 Pro's portability is perfect for me. I enjoy upgrading yearly, but 512GB on the Pro Max feels excessive, while 128GB on the Pro is sufficient. I'm concerned about trade-in values since Apple doesn’t consider storage, and I want to maximize my investment. I am still conflicted!

Went to a 16 pro due to inventory but honestly I love the phone. After all the years owning a max of any of the models and with all the camera being even along with features besides battery, storage and screen size it’s GREAT! I wouldn’t go back and it’s so nice to have something so manageable in my pocket. It’s great honestly.

Connecting a T7 2 TB SSD will keep drawing 4.5 watts power from the phone while recording and extra 250mah battery is thus very useful. The extra mah will also support extra battery life if AI is launched. Because AI tends to run on the background all the time and you can expect extra heat. Hence the 20% improved cooling is mentioned by Apple on 16 launch. For heavy users, 16 plus is the go. For pro res and professionals pro max is the go. 16 is for new to iPhone users and 16 pro is just for class who keeps upgrading every year. And those buying 16 pro 128gb variants are just show offs

If I didn’t have a tablet, I’d go pro max. I have average size hands and the max just feels too awkward for pocket portability. The 6.3” feels really good, but I wouldn’t go a millimeter bigger. Of course, if you travel a-lot without a tablet and are a heavy user, I understand reasons for the Max. It’s really pleasant to look at.
I downsized from 15 Pro Max to 16 Pro, I love it even tough I missed the extra battery, I will still keep my 15 PM for beta software testing devices and 16 P will be my primary phone because of its compactness

Desert tan is the second best after the iPhone 15 yellow which I have best iPhone imo black to dull and basic and like a sheep join other ppl better to stand out from crowd 💪🤷♂️
I’m sticking to my 15 pro max this year but if I was to buy this year pro max is the way to go. The battery life is far superior and the only phone in the world that lasts me a whole day. The bigger screen is always much nicer as well. Obviously if you hate large phones you go pro but if you’re on the fence pro max all the way.
Jumped from a 13 pro to a 16 pro. 13 pro had close to 1000 battery cycles. I seem to be getting around the same battery life as the older 13 pro really disappointing.
I used to only ever use a pro max. Then last year I shattered my wrist and lost some use of it and the 13 pro max I had was too heavy and cumbersome to use. I got a 15 pro and honestly it’s been fine. Much easier to work with.

When I handed my 16 Pro Max Desert titanium back in cus I hate that colour, I was holding the 16 Pro and I just felt the screen difference was too much to drop down to, even with smaller hands. I enjoy the Max for the large screen and battery life that comes with that. It's the first time though I've felt happier handing one back in 😆 Edit to add, for anyone wondering, the 16 Pro Max with the new Pitaka tactile woven case was 251g and very manageable. Whereas my 15 Pro Max with Belkin Ultraglass 2 screen protector and Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear case is 274g.
I trade my devices in and use my prepaid carrier, so you either pay upfront or get charged in interest on your phone plan, and only upgrade every 2 years
@@davidkaplan5517 I buy mine new from Apple and my carrier is Tracfone . $125 a year it’s on Verizon’s network. Even if I buy additional data it’s under $200 a year . I think my IPhone 13 was just under $900 in fall 2021. I’ll use this till it becomes unsupported. We still have two IPhone 5 SE that still work. 😂. They aren’t on a cell phone network though.
The phones CAN hit a 45w power draw. But you need to be doing an intensive task (gaming o editing for ex) and you need to be connected to a 45w+ Power Brick. This will basically power you phone of the wall while still charging your battery at so-so 25w. Basically, this means that you will charge AS FAST while using your phone then when you are not using it.
It’s a tough choice. But yes, the 16 Pro Max has better cameras, Apple intelligence, Camera Control, Dynamic Island, Better Battery, Better Build Quality, Better Processer, etc.
I got the pro this time. I upgraded from a iPhone 15 pro max to 16 pro because wanted smaller for pocket. If you got a 15 pro max don’t upgrade because your be disappointed.
@@valpal_0112 I did it because I wanted a smaller screen. I looked after my iphone pro 15 it was like new still with 100% battery capacity and I got £800 for it so got most of my money back on it. I mean I wouldn’t upgrade for features and cameras because I don’t see much benefit in it. Just like the S23 jumping to a S24 I saw no differences at all and the S23 still as 10x zoom as the S24 as 5x zoom then digital. That’s why I don’t understand why people pick on apple when Samsung are just as bad.
I retired and no longer need all-day battery life so I downsized my upgrade from the 14 Pro Max to the 16 Pro. My pockets will appreciate it.

Same, I went with the Pro Max because I had a small iPhone 8 for around 7 years, wanted a larger screen for once.
I like the bigger screen but $200 extra I rather choose the regular.

From the 15 pro max to the 16 pro max the answer is quite obvious to not upgrade. For every other model, the answer gets easier the older they get.

What makes zero sense to me is that the 16 Pro battery is encased in metal and the Pro Max is not.
The thermals are improved on the 16 Pro Max anyway, so it probably wasn't as relevant to the larger model.

upgraded from 12PM to16PM just because of display and battery; TURNED OFF apple intelligence and siri forever. battery life super long now.

Most people don’t buy a phone. They just trade up at their carrier. So cost is non issue. My 13 does more than I need it to .
You pay for the phone in being locked in and overpaying for your cell service…. You can get unlimited data plans for $25/month.

I trade my devices in and use my prepaid carrier, so you either pay upfront or get charged in interest on your phone plan, and only upgrade every 2 years
@@davidkaplan5517 I buy mine new from Apple and my carrier is Tracfone . $125 a year it’s on Verizon’s network. Even if I buy additional data it’s under $200 a year . I think my IPhone 13 was just under $900 in fall 2021. I’ll use this till it becomes unsupported. We still have two IPhone 5 SE that still work. 😂. They aren’t on a cell phone network though.

The phones CAN hit a 45w power draw. But you need to be doing an intensive task (gaming o editing for ex) and you need to be connected to a 45w+ Power Brick. This will basically power you phone of the wall while still charging your battery at so-so 25w. Basically, this means that you will charge AS FAST while using your phone then when you are not using it.
Yes, but that is not 45 W charging. However, I would be very surprised if the phone is using 20W at any given time.

Definitely worse than the Pro Max. Doesn’t last me a whole day but close. I’d say it’s good but not great. The Pro Max is definitely “great”.
It’s nothing special. If you’re not an intense user, it’ll last you the day.

It’s a tough choice. But yes, the 16 Pro Max has better cameras, Apple intelligence, Camera Control, Dynamic Island, Better Battery, Better Build Quality, Better Processer, etc.

I got the pro this time. I upgraded from a iPhone 15 pro max to 16 pro because wanted smaller for pocket. If you got a 15 pro max don’t upgrade because your be disappointed.

@@valpal_0112 I did it because I wanted a smaller screen. I looked after my iphone pro 15 it was like new still with 100% battery capacity and I got £800 for it so got most of my money back on it. I mean I wouldn’t upgrade for features and cameras because I don’t see much benefit in it. Just like the S23 jumping to a S24 I saw no differences at all and the S23 still as 10x zoom as the S24 as 5x zoom then digital. That’s why I don’t understand why people pick on apple when Samsung are just as bad.
