That is an awesome saving but it's also a 8 month old phone. It's still a great phone but the A18 Pro and 8 Gen 4 are gonna leave the 8 Gen 3 behind and even though Samsung will provide software updates for years, it wont necessarily get all the latest and greatest features if it doesn't have the power to run them so it's a bargain deal but might also be cheap for a reason.
have a 12 Pro Max and Samsung 24 Plus. I've been an Android advocate for a very long time. I got the 12 Pro Max just for work and FaceTime family and friends with iPhones. One feature I noticed right away that Apple dont have on their phones is clipboard. The clipboard comes in handy when you want to copy and paste anything you wrote like this comment im doing now. And it saves it. Apple users are so oblivious when it comes to features like that. Just like scheduling to send a text message, which now Apple has on the iPhone 16. What I don't like is how Apple called these features "innovative" when Android has had those features for years. Also, the multi-tasking and the split screens you get with Android just blows Apple out the park with userbility. To me, it's always an extra step to do something so simple with iPhones. When you want to turn off your phone, you have to hold two buttons on opposite sides on the iPhone. With Android, you can either hold the volume down button and power button or just easily swipe down your screen and power off that way. That's the power of customization pun intended.

If you have been buying a phone for 4+ years, then waiting 2-3 weeks for the AI with iOS 18.1 is not a big deal. The reason Apple is delayed is that they are building their own AI. Samsung abandoned its LLMs and paid Google for Gemini, which they rebranded as Galaxy AI. That is why Samsung will charge for some AI after next year and why Apple has promised no charges before the end of 2027.
@@andyH_England LoL, AI should have started to roll out in IOS 16 or 15, it's already 3 years late. And did you forget about the part where APPLE is using chatGPT for its complicated tasks too? The type of models that Apple is developing itself, like rewriting, translations, and image editing etc are all developed independently by Google and samsung , and have been available since pixel 6 series and S23 series ( which is now available to devices as old as S20 series, and even budget $250 Samsungs since the past year) And both work much better than Apple's own models. And for your kind reference, s24 was released almost a year before ip 16 series, and promised 2 years of free use, which is valid till early 2026. And Apple's AI having free ACCESS till 2027 after launching in 2025 Is also 2 years .

@@yoshi.jeje_StructuralEngineer I hate this design too. I came from the iPhone 13 Pro and am now using the S24 Ultra. They are both ergonomic disasters.
Of course, a phone like the S24U that is nearing its end of life will be replaced by the S25U, and prices will fall as Samsung dumps them on the market to get rid of unsold stock. I would not recommend anyone buying an S24U now, even with the price drops, as the S25U will have Gen2-3nm, which is a huge leap in efficiency and performance. If you are buying now objectively tech-wise, the iPhone is the pick.
I've been searching for the past year and watching videos, reading reviews etc and now that the S24 Ultra has a good discount i ordered a 512gb model to try out and if i like it i'm going to settle on it for a minimum of 3-4 years. Phones don't need to be upgraded often i'm using a 13 pro wich is more than good enough i'm just bored with Apple and have had issues with huge battery drain on IOS18. Size is a factor coming from a small phone wich i've enjoyed using but i mostly carry or have my phone in a bag so it doesn't have to fit in my pockets just need to be able to get used to using it regularly because if it feels clunky at all times that will be a deal breaker. In comparison IMO the s24 Ultra offers more for the cost than the Iphone but i guess everyone has their own preferences i can't wait to have a Samsung again.
The camera button, I have heard is very gimmicky. It actually doesn't open the camera faster then just sliding your "lock screen" over to the left. I guess you can say it was the thought that counts. Idk, most reviewers that I have seen talk about that camera button has said, It's slower, hard to get it down while going through all the options.
Perfect timing for this video. I’ve been an Android user since the OG Motorola Droid. Moved to iPhone when the iPhone 11 Pro Max came out. Currently using the iPhone 14 Pro Max and was waiting to see what the 16 offers. But I think I’m moving back to Android. Just started checking out the S24 Ultra and while the current price on Samsungs website is compelling, S24 Ultra with 512gb storage is only $999.00 I’m going to wait the 3 1/2 months and pick up the S25 Ultra.
Former main 13 pro max user here. After the 13, honestly I haven't seen much of a difference in apples phones, so I switched to the ultra. I still switch back and forth between the two, but the versatility the ultra has makes the purchase Definitely worth it.
As both a longtime Android and iOS user, one thing that has really stood out to me is how much more iOS is becoming like Android, whereas Android feels somewhat stagnant and companies like Samsung copy some of what Apple is doing. I’ve been using Android for a long time, and every so often I give the iPhone another shot. With the iPhone 15/16 Pro Max, this is the most impressed I’ve been with iOS and the phone in a long time. Customizable home and lock screens, rearrangeable home screens, a programmable button, etc. has continued to help close the gap. I also really wasn’t a fan of One UI 6.0 and the ads in some of the galaxy apps are pretty rough too. Overall, I’ve been surprisingly pretty happy over the last year switching to iPhone and may stay in the ecosystem for awhile.
Open your photo settings. And set your photos to Raw. And you won't have this over correction issue. Also go to your software information. And open up your bill number by pushing it for consecutive times. This is unlock your developer options which you can control everything. Quit running your Samsung phones in factory settings . They're only there to get the best battery life out of the phone . If you want to get the most out of the phone and push your microchip to the Limit and speed open this

I was an Android user (with high-end phones every year) up until the Galaxy S22 Ultra. I’m talking about installing custom ROMs to improve performance, using apps like Greenify, ROM Toolbox, Tasker, Xposed Framework, SuperSU, Disk Digger, etc., for automation. I got tired of all that time wasted on customizing, automating, and tinkering with the phone every day just to make it work 100%. That's why I decided to switch to iOS with an iPhone 16 Pro Max. I just want my phone to work, and work well, without worrying about pointless optimizations. I'm very happy with the device and don't plan to return to Android as long as my financial situation allows it. Of course, I’ll change my device every 4 or 5 years. No brand offers true innovations or useful changes in their current annual upgrade cycle, whether it's Apple, Xiaomi, Samsung, etc.
I've been having the hardest time making the decision between the two. I'm just going to make things easier on myself and keep both. I'll switch back and forth as I please until the S25 Ultra comes out. Thanks for the video!
I am a windows person because my professional apps only runs on x86 based PC. I've been using iPhone 14 Pro Max for 2 years, love the phone, but not as smooth as my Andriod phone 2 years ago whenever need to connect with PC. At this point, I am thinking either choose all Apple ecosystem, or choose Windows + Android ecosystem. Yes, for me ecosystem is important.
Wait Matthew how were you able to download Apple TV on your S24 Ultra??? I’ve been trying SO long to figure out how to get Apple TV on my S24 Ultra! Please tell me how you did it so I can get Apple TV on my phone! That would mean so much to me if you did!
I’m trying to access all my purchases of tv shows on Apple TV on my Samsung as I’ve paid a lot of money for them and it would mean a lot if you guided me how to do that!
im an android user for years now but i stil bought 16pm, main reason is, in PH, iphones price depreciation is much more slower than its android counterparts.
Me, waiting for S25 Ultra... I hope the cameras are betters. I really wanted the Vivo X100 Ultra but it's just not available globally but I think as far as Camera goes - it is better.
I’ve been a Samsung user since I dropped my iPhone 6. I just returned to Apple with the iPhone 16 pro max. Let me say this; the user experience, app implementation and ease of use on IOS are a level above.
With me having both devices it’s hard for me to chose as well, BUT the way apple is implementing AI is definitely going to be a game changer. Using the beta it’s already been helpful with it being in its infancy still. The way it works for you in the background is great and only going to get better. Also everything else the iPhone does great makes it a clear choice for me. The Samsung still have a few things I love better though, good lock being one of them
I tested both the 16 pro max and s24 ultra at the store many days ago and I still think the s24 ultra is way more fun to use like my s23 ultra. The s pen w gestures and sound effects , multi tasking, open operating system, way better display lightyears ahead corning glass no reflections, good lock, emulation at a higher level w no limitations, Samsung TV ecosystem etc . I'll wait for the s25 ultra. I think Xiaomi , Huawei, Honor, Google, Red Magic, and Samsung are far ahead in innovation. For me I left Apple years ago because it has too many limitations in comparison. For me I can't live without beinf able to download anything, edge panel and copy and paste clipboard, stylus support, no foldables etc but some things like imessage and consistent video quality, AI personal voice and iTunes few things here and there are implemented well but android is just more fun for me these days.
Both of these launched at €1,450 in the EU - simply crazy. I think people will gobble up the Galaxy S24 FE and especially the iPhone SE (2025) when both are at around 600-700 bucks, which is half the price. Premium flagships don’t offer anything special now. 95% of people don’t care about titanium, an extra GPU core, thinner bezels, or an S pen.
3:42 on my lhone zhe akoes look identical i think ehat happened is by the S24 Ultra vision booster feature kicked in on the screen and saturated the colors intense that's how vision booster works to be more viaible in the sun but the actual footage was normal taken by the camera
If you don't want a 80 HZ device, go ahead and just go with the Samsung. Apple has been throttling it's 120 HZ displays to 80 HZ around 95% of the time you are using it. It's been going on for about 4 years now and everyone should know about this before purchasing. It's super noticeable, especially if you're coming from a true 120 HZ device from any Android
No one ever does photos of moving subjects! This is what the every day person would like to see, if they are suitable taking of Photos of kids, pets etc.
I take pics of my kids with my s24 ultra. They're always moving. But I manage to capture them no problem. The occasional hand gets blurry but you get that with the iphone as well.
As a long-time Android user, I have always admired iPhones for their ability to push the boundaries of innovation and inspire other companies to excel. However, I must express my concern that the recent iPhone 16 Pro appears to be more of an incremental update rather than a groundbreaking advancement. The new camera button, in particular, seems counterintuitive and lacks the user-friendly design that Apple is known for.
Samsung is around 950€ in official store here in Europe with some deals. Still cheaper if you buy the asian version from Aliexpress 799€ (mine from HK working perfectly and with all signals and languages). At that price is nothing to compare, hands down an awesome experience (and without any orange photos or flare night dots!).
That is now. In 8 months, the iPhone will have deals at the same age as the S24U. Around that time, I saw £150 off Amazon for iPhone 15PM and even more on resellers. So comparing the prices of a newly released phone to one discontinued in a few months is obviously not relevant, as many people will now be waiting for the Gen2-3nm S25U rather than the older chip.
Just buy both if money is not the problem so you can have best of both worlds. Just like me i have s24U and 12pm and I'm not missing anything from new iphones.
Frankly speaking, it's less about what more features your offers verses what valuable features your smartphone have. Androids have always had lot more features than iPhones, but are those features valuable in day-to-day life? And yes, people who are into Apple Eco-system will definitely grab an iPhone irrespective of what extra-ordinary features Androids has to offer. Because as humans, we love convenience at the end of the day. That's where Apple shines. And will continue to do so.
i am currently using a samsung phone and looking to upgrade. I'm gravitating towards the iPhone 16 pro because of smaller form factor. in my country the 16 pro is around the same price as 24 ultra. i use camera for fun, I kinda don't care about customizability which comes with an android. which one should I choose?? pls help
I say go for it, my s10+ finally broke after 6 years of regular use and now I wanna try something new and with IOS 18 it's perfect time to try an iPhone
The fact that the iphone 16 pro has an X71 modem while the s24u has an X75, and the s25u will have the x80 modem, just makes any reason to get the iphone nill and void. Apple screwed the pooch on the modem in 2024.
They should make the ultras more ergonomic..?That phone like a brick box is very difficult to handle.. I had it 7 months before selling it for the 15 pro just coz of that huge frame… ! It’s so boxy it doesn’t fit small bags or women’s pockets at all… ! And 15 pro vs 16 pro barely had any upgrades so decided to save 300$…!
I like the way you say that beacuse YOU are a creator - you prefer iPhones. People watch reviews from other creators that like iPhones because they are Americans or because of the video quality that they don't understand they miss out on S series phones. The stylus itself makes it above iphones.
Very few people need a stylus. It's great if it's important, but I have the S24U and never use the stylus. I would have bought the S24+, but it is Exynos in Europe, as my previous three Exynos Galaxy phones were dumpster-diving nightmares.
Looks like Samsung have been listening. Ice universe leaks have rounded corners now. I like the stark look of the boxy rectangle but definitely not the most ergonomic phone on the market!
@@BNnnen I have used one with a case though. It still felt boxy and uncomfortable to hold because it had the tendency dig into my pinkie over longer usage sessions.
You should really stop being so disingenuous with this preference and say the two best phones in the US because outside of the US you know much better phones than these two so stop being disingenuous
I don't get why this is a tough choice for people! Apple may be 10% better at video, but the S24U is just a way better and much more capable device in every other way! I also consider it a big plus that you won't have the same phone a everyone else!
When your software is optimized well you don't NEED that extra RAM to get the same results. Android phones need the extra RAM to make up for their lack of seamless integration between software and hardware. This is why "better specs" are never impressive, it's all about the actual experience when using the phone. For example, you could have a smaller weaker battery make a phone last longer than a larger more powerful one if the software is optimized well enough. So on paper hardware specs really don't translate to real world usage.
@JAYJAYBEBE Yeah and that's fair for most regular applications. Especially for the average phone user. I think it just becomes a thing to me when I wanna game and stuff on my phone.
I saw some reviews showing max brightness, and the antiglare screen does dampen the quality of the S24U display. It is far from perfect, and the downsides easily outweigh the minor benefit of reflections as I am in the UK, which is not a major issue. I would prefer if Samsung returned to the S23U display and released an antiglare screen protector so we could choose. At least Apple does that with the antiglare on its iPads.
Sure, nothing to worrie about feature software updates… My iPhone 14 Pro doesnt get anything of the new AI Features from Apple. Its a shame. That was definitly my last iPhone.
The exact battary size of the Galaxy is 4855mAh, but bcs it not an Apple and they want to translate to the consumer as simbler it can get they just throw it as 5000mAh.
I prefer neither. I found the OnePlus12 with better battery life, I love the pictures out of it and does some very normal things like customizing the system UI, which you can't do in Samsung or Apple..
Real intellectuals with a complex, yet alluring personality use Samsung. All others use iPhone. They like things simple. It reminds them of the toys they played with as a child.
In Portugal 🇵🇹 the s24 ultra is the easiest choice being 500€ euros cheaper than the iPhone, and with winlator I'm not missing out on those so called " Triple A " games, the 7 years of software, the same titanium build, the extreme cameras, the 100x, the 8k, the 4k60 on all cameras and the list goes on...the choice couldn't be easier
@MatthewMoniz the s23u and s24u globally only has the Snapdragon processors, the base s24 and s24+ have exynos yeah, that why here i only considered the Ultra 😅
If you compare launch prices, was it €500 cheaper? It certainly wasn't in the UK; it was more expensive. You got a free 512GB upgrade, which was pointless as I rarely go above 60 GB. They have a lot of deals now as Samsung dumps unsold stock, clearing the way for the S25U. Samsung discounts mean secondhand prices nosedive, and my S24U, which cost £1250, if sold now on eBay, would lose me over £700 after 8 months. Whereas iPhones hold their value much better.
Not really a tough choice. Android phones have no longevity compared to iPhones and get laggy faster, are less durable (S24 only has grade 2 Titanium while the 16s have grade 5), and are more susceptible to Malware and hacking, and sometimes, they even explode. I heard Hamas is using Samsung phones to save money. Also, the vast majority of apps most people use are better optimized for ios. Going live on IG looks like you are recording from a toaster on a Samsung compared to an iPhone. Also, the Face ID is primitive compared to iPhone... I could wear a mask of someone and get in their Samsung. I could go on and on, but the "features" that Android phones have that apple doesn't *aren't even cared about* by the vast majority of people. The things that Apple does better are cared about much more.
Just wanted to add that going from a 13 pro max to a 16 pro max, the sound from the speakers is actually the most noticeable difference that I appreciated the most. Mic quality is extremely important to me because I have a soft spoken voice and want people to hear me as clearly as possible.
For me iphone 11 was my last. Loved that piece of tech. Used it from the day of lauch till 2023. Took my junp to S23 ultra and i wont be looking back anytime soon. Unless, apple doesnt renovate and innovate they are out of the game. The 16 series is a sham as per 2024 standards.
my wife got the 16 pro max , man ios is soo far behind Android , i mean just the photo app sucks sooo much you literally can't do nothing with the phone expect what Apple wants you to do.
Is it really that far behind though? I feel like iOS has begun to catch up from a customization perspective and has added a lot of great features over the years, whereas stock Android has stayed the same for awhile.
That might be true, but in order to cloud-sync my Samsung Gallery I need a OneDrive subscription. That would be fine if I would be able to backup my entire device on that same OneDrive account. Instead, I need a Google Drive subscription to backup my device. Now I could indeed use Google Photos to keep it all under one cloud, but man... I like the Samsung Gallery app. So iOS may be soo far behind Android, at least there is unity. I don't need more than one subscription.... which isn't cheap by the way.

I use the image editor a looot, and it's amazing.. I don't have a flagship samsung, so can't commend on daily use of other AI features, but my friend with S22U ( who got most of the AI features on a now 2.5 yr old phone) says they are great too, and I believe him..
The type of models that Apple is developing itself, like rewriting, translations, and image editing etc are all developed independently by Google and samsung , and have been available since pixel 6 series and S23 series ( which is now available to devices as old as S20 series, and even budget $250 Samsungs since the past year)
And both work much better than Apple's own models.
And for your kind reference, s24 was released almost a year before ip 16 series, and promised 2 years of free use, which is valid till early 2026. And Apple's AI having free ACCESS till 2027 after launching in 2025 Is also 2 years .
They're both powerful phones and you can't go wrong with neither.. Just buy what you want basically

899 dollars here in Brazil, s24 ultra new.
How the f is iphone cheaper in dubai I am getting s24 ultra for half the price of iPhone
he means when they are firstly released

It’s not a tough choice at all. Scamsung has become a disgrace under TM Roh.
I give the camera button three years before it joins the MacBooks' Touch Bar. Go home, Tim, you're drunk.
Yeah it's obvious that Apple have just ran out of ideas. Don't know why they don't just release a new phone every 2-3 years.
Agreed @bp328i let's wait for the 25
As both a longtime Android and iOS user, one thing that has really stood out to me is how much more iOS is becoming like Android, whereas Android feels somewhat stagnant and companies like Samsung copy some of what Apple is doing.

Well said!
I've been having the hardest time making the decision between the two. I'm just going to make things easier on myself and keep both. I'll switch back and forth as I please until the S25 Ultra comes out. Thanks for the video!

But Mathew, when i upload photos to insta, which loses more quality?
im an android user for years now but i stil bought 16pm, main reason is, in PH, iphones price depreciation is much more slower than its android counterparts.
Hi Mathew, can you help me decide between the g14 and the proart p16 from asus? Prioritizing battery life here.
And is the white color actually white or is it silver? And how does the color compare to a silver MacBook?
The Samsung still have a few things I love better though, good lock being one of them
Nice video Matt...
Thank you!
What color of s24 ultra is that?

True.

Iphone pushing boundaries of innovation? 😭😭
@@andyH_Englandyes, but we are going things in the now. Not in the future. Right now, this is the state of things.

The fact that the iphone 16 pro has an X71 modem while the s24u has an X75, and the s25u will have the x80 modem, just makes any reason to get the iphone nill and void. Apple screwed the pooch on the modem in 2024.

If they give the S25 Ultra more rounded corners , I will be sold.

I daily drive the s24 ultra. Once you put a case on it, the corners really aren't an issue
This is true a thin case does help out with the feel on the corners. But for those caseless maniacs rounded corners would be better.

One thing I noticed is that you displayed the 8GB of RAM that the iPhone has, but not the 12GB that the Galaxy has 😅
If you've ever considered one plus, one plus12 has a 16 GB and can expand to 4 more even.
I ordered s24 ultra with a bundle, galaxy buds 3 pro, galaxy tab a9+, and galaxy fit3 for 1019 euro.
In my country I can buy s24 ultra 1tb for $1.5k whereas iphone 16 pro max 1tb would cost $2.3k
512gb would be $1.2k and $2k respectively
Do you know that you can adjust the vibrancy on the galaxy 24 ultra ?
Yup! You can on all samsung phones. But because the display is matte it will never look as vibrant as a normal glossy glass panel
Ok I will go with s24, let's break the 🐖. oh no I have only 200$😢

Just wait until the s25 ultra is released. It is going to be absolutely astonishing. It will be by far the best smartphone on planet Earth.
Does Portugal get the exynos or snapdragon version of the S24 Ultra?
@andyH_England even at day one was cheaper with better deals, apple would, never do that, I would pick the galaxy everytime
I will leave it here:
What apple shows recently - Andoid had years ago.
Iphone has better mic but s24 have better speakers

@@MatthewMonizmight be it sound different in real than in video.
Just wanted to add that going from a 13 pro max to a 16 pro max, the sound from the speakers is actually the most noticeable difference that I appreciated the most. Mic quality is extremely important to me because I have a soft spoken voice and want people to hear me as clearly as possible.
I have seen two specialist reviews of the speakers, and the iPhone was rated as having better quality. Louder does not make it better.

That might be true, but in order to cloud-sync my Samsung Gallery I need a OneDrive subscription. That would be fine if I would be able to backup my entire device on that same OneDrive account.
