I know it's a lawyer's job to be creative and use whatever they've got to fight their client's corner, but "I cut my finger off" is a figure of speech. It means this injury happened to me; it doesn't mean I cut my OWN finger off, as Rottenborn is seeking to imply. If your leg got broken in a football tackle, you'd say "I broke my leg" - only a madman would assume that meant you took a mallet to your own leg.

Avoiding Ambers piece in it entirely, it’s disgusting. Honestly though, I’m not surprised, Seems to be Ambers persona in a lawyer.

Part of the issue is Depp was wasted during many of the times he’s being questioned on so he doesn’t remember anything.
My pet peeve is that Depp will answer “hmm, I don’t think so,” and the lawyer will quote from the UK trial Depp saying “I dunno, but it could be” like there’s a functional difference and he’s caught Mr. Depp in a lie.

I'm glad to hear from All of you. And though it's very sad I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one who's taking a long time to heal. I've been in therapy for 12yrs (7-8 different therapists, for a while I was seeing 3 a week) I've been on meds for the last 1 1/2 yrs so I can finally(such a gift) get some sleep 2-3 nights a week. I really appreciate you all telling me your stories and showing me/each other support. It's so comforting to know that somewhere in the world there are other people who understand. My love, best wishes, and respect to you all. Keep speaking out. You never know who it may save. 💪👵✌️

When Johnny tried to explain chemical dependency and it's effects on the brain to stop producing dopamine and serotonin in regards to his pursuit of substances, the lawyer cut him right off. Why ask him a question if you don't want to allow him to offer an explanation? Sounds like Johnny was trying to get help for addictions. Don't give up man, recovery is a process. Exactly.. I believe she tried to oof him by requesting more drugs from his camp and ingesting them with him. Then she engaged in conflict and recorded him for her own gain since his tolerance was so high... she never got the outcome of an OD which I think she really wanted. She wouldve gotten a ton of money and the story perpetuated without JD being able to fight back. Imagine if she had succeeded in getting him to OD, tarnishing his name and being a widow who survived dv!!!! She is disgusting.

JD if by some bizarre chance you read this - please STOP the lawyer politely and tell him you can save him some time. Then admit you've taken copious amounts of almost every drug known to man and you've struggled with addiction your whole life. BUT drug use, satirical text messages between friends and losing your temper within perfectly normal parameters has NOT and will NOT ever lead to abusive behaviour, physical or otherwise, towards another human being. Show the guy up for constantly referring back to your drug use. Draw attention to it and it will make him look petty. Not only that, it will highlight he has NOTHING but the drug use to rely upon. I don’t understand the constant questioning about drug use. He’s admitted it,- never denied it either. This was so tedious just going through the same things. I’m yet to see a link between this drug use and the purpose of the defamation trial- violence. Drug use doesn’t equal violence necessarily. I’m also tired of the referrals back to the UK trial where he says exactly the same thing yet they bring it up to try to say otherwise- it’s just semantics. I’m also surprised that she’s pointing the finger at Johnny over drug use when she was also using and drinking,

I honestly feel so sorry for him. I have, myself endured a narcissistic borderline psychopath in my life and it’s a head spinning situation which kicks you down to the ground, you will do anything to defend yourself. It may be agreeing with the abuser, just to keep things calm to actually lashing out. It’s exhausting and in sense, deadly. I am lucky to be alive and happy now. I stand with JD.

Yep I had the same and still feel damaged to this day. My ex mentally tormented me for 12 hours straight, saying what are you gonna do hit me? Do it! The rage I felt inside was like no other, I took out on myself by taking insane amounts of valiums (which I'm addicted too now by the way), and locked myself in her spare room for 2 days to keep away from her until I could get a flight home..all the while she came in and was stroking me asking if everything was OK, and she loves me, and went about her day.
Some women don't realise, or maybe they do, just how much damage that can cause....
More of us than the system ever cared to realise. Easier to believe mother by default. Even worse than my own mental scars, my daughter now has no real chance at a successful future because of my ex and NOTHING I ever said to people was listened to. They attached to her false allegations like blood attracts sharks. Even the police at a critical moment agreed her commentary fell flat and upon inspection there was zero evidence of her accusations. THEN she tried to manipulate a court judge who saw through her but I STILL ended up with no justice while she went on to get all the benefits she could and then deny my daughter an education without any recourse or challenge.
The system can do one. Glad JD is able to have strength and capital to bring this into the public consciousness maybe in future things will find more balance and rationality. May he move onto bigger and better things and get the vindication he deserves that many of us will never see.
I've dealt with NPD and BPD relationships in my life, yet strangely I don't align with Depp, and I also can't say that he is some innocent harmless guilt-free victim deity neither.

If I was sliding into homeplate at a softball game, and the catcher tried to block me illegally and what she did was basically break my leg (her fault), I would tell people I broke my leg. When people saw my cast I wouldn't explain that the catcher's bad playing broke my leg. Emphasis is on the leg not that I am the one who literally broke it. He CHOPPED his finger off, not HE chopped his finger off. Big difference. So the defense goes on and on about him telling people he was injured, not a confession of what he did. Good Lord!!!!
