Since have my son 12 months ago I have switched to tesco online click and collect for our groceries. The way I make it work is I start my shop with the basics eg bread, milk, nappies to save my slot, then throughout the week I amend the items in my basket on the app. It honestly saves me time, money and reduces the number of topup shops. I book the following week's slot when I pick an waiting for the shop assistant to bring out my groceries. Currently about £65-70 a week, but I flex that depending on if there are items on offer that week which I can freeze and then use a later date. x x
Not sure if I’ve commented about Lidl before, but do you have one close to you? Just a thought, but if you had the Lidl plus app you could have got £17 off your £170 shop , as Lidl do 10% off a shop if you spend £250 a month in there, it’s such a great saving, just thought you might like to know x
A real game changer for me has been setting up a rotating meal plan. We have 6 weeks of meal plans (dinners only) made up of recipes we like, including gusto recreates and we do throw in 'if its' nights too which are whatever we have in the freezer for convenience! I do my food shop online, find what week we are on, buy the ingredients we need for those and then the regular snacks and essentials as well as any lunch or breakfast stuff we need gets added on. It has meant I am not sitting down every week to meal plan, and we are getting variety!
@@MortgageFreeLeigh we have one a week at least, BBQ halloumi this week and I am really looking forward to it! Online shopping does take a bit of getting used to but I do think I buy less and only what we need now I have got into the habit of it.
I’ve been doing online shopping for about 4yrs now & the idea of doing a big shop in person really stresses me out 😂 I have a budget of £80pw for 2 adults, a 2yr old & 2 cats. On weeks where I need say more cat food, I try to use more food from the freezer to keep it under £80. Then on weeks where I don’t need as much fresh, I stock up on toilet paper, toothpaste, etc. We normally have takeaway 1st Saturday of the month too as a treat!
To be honest I have been watching on line shopping but the amount of swaps they get has really changed my mind also I do like to choose my own fresh produce so it wouldn’t work for me but I hope it will help you and your family.
That seems a lot for a shop without meat as we are a family of 6 and spend around £150-£170 for a shop And we buy a lot of meat chicken/fish/beef etc… I try and meal plan and doesn’t really work for me…. But I do love a Aldi shop
Online shop all the way, you can control the price as you go along, and save hours ofnyoir life. Just wish Alidi did online shopping or clicknand collect
